There's a thread "Modesty for Ladies" so here's one for the opposite sex! Beefy guys on beaches... yummy or yuck?

I've seen guys wear see-throughs in public... I don't know how a guy could possibly do that without turning red at every street corner...

(and I know one of you ladies will ask "Is there such a thing?" lol)

Think about how much we talk about women "dressing modestly," and how little time is devoted to the issue for men. This is just a testament to how men have used lust and sexuality to repress and control women for centuries. Notice how it's always the woman's fault for dressing a certain way and causing men to lust; the emphasis of the blame is put on the woman rather than on the man who is lusting. The man gets away with blaming his lust on the woman for how she is dressed. This is absurd. It is a man's fault if he lusts, just like it is a woman's fault if she lusts. Now sure, certain attire may be more likely to bring out the lust that is in a man's heart, but the fault here is not the woman's--it's the man's.

Modesty for guys... Hmm... Well first of all I don't like it when they wear their pants down by their knees lol no one wants to see their underwear... I also have seen guys wearing shirts from places like hollister and such that will have a pic of a girl with a bikini on it or some innapropriate saying. Idk if that has to do with modesty but it makes me think that all that guys thinks about is sex and stuff, and they're not interested in a girl for their inner beauty, just outer.
Just my thoughts.
I also would like it if guys would wear shirts when they can....
Haha.

beefy guys on beaches - yum :p :L

seriously thou :L
it is stated in the bible that is this a time and a place for certain things and attire. So would it be wrong for a male just to wear trunks to go swimming at the local gym ? no. Because that is the attire used , for pracicality and efficenty in the water.
Is it right to wear jeans to chuch ? i dont think so. I think you enter into the house of the lords, dressed for and to be in the house of the king.
So personally...guys and girls on beaches that arnt totally covered up..to me inst a sin. The chances are they may have/r going to go swimming...or maybe want to catch the rays..for a tan/good vitimin something intake.

However...i think as long as the bum, and bum area...round the front is covered...that is neccesary...
and that person is dressed in attire suitable for the occasion. All is well

Also - you need to make sure u dress not to intentionally make people lust.

p.s - i hate seeing guys with trousers down past therre butt !! its so annoying! you wanna go up to them and suggest a better size :L

God Bless :)

Yeah, at my school, tennis courts are at the bottom of this hill and a path runs along the top. And the varsity soccer guys run along it while the tennis girls practice. Now If it's like 90 degrees outside while the guys are running, it's no problem if the guys have their shirts off. But I've been playing tennis in 50 degree weather and the guys still have their shirts off, which is really distracting to us girls. So I do they need to practice modesty as well.

sorry, i love this thread! everyone's always talking about how girls have to be modest, time to turn the tables *rubs hands together*

i think guys have to hold a certain amount of modesty as well, yes, guys wearing their pants at the knees is really unnecessary (sp?) but, it really gets on my nerves when they're wearing a belt too, really, what's the point if you're going to let you're pants fall down anyway? I mean reall! But I don't think that that's really immodest... just rediculous...

now, when a guy that's nice and toned, with just enough of a 6-pack to make you think "oh my word," and they have their pants or swim trunks or... *shudders*... speedo, at just the point where you can almost see their... yeah... that would be considered immodest...to me anyway...

as to the beefy guy on the beach... as long as they aren't super buff, yum, but if you start to get the buldgey veiny muscles, yuck

Umm........Yes -no im not a teen, but i'll say this: I see alot of stuff that is quite objectionable! personally even in my house if the kids have there freinds over or whatever i will have a shirt on and my shorts and pants dont show 6 inches of crack or any of my underwear lol-now when you talk about a modest guy where do you get your info? we do exist-unfortunately our culture these days seem to have no modesty OR morals-Young ladies come to church and have to cover themselves with a blanket when they sit, boys have their shirts unbuttoned to the middle button, ect: no modesty at all! man whatever happened to virtue!--out the window in alot of cases ... WELL turn off the TV and open a bible-im not sayin that all are wrong-but many areheh heh I dont wanna see anyones crack or underwaer (guys or girls)! I dont wanna see down you shirt either-these are an assault on a true christian im not slamminanyone personally justneeded to fet this out there! God Bless All of Us. And God help some of us!
