People coming into teens saying one age

So has anyone else felt really uncomfortable when like 22 year olds come in teens and like you warn them to be careful as they are in teens and then they try to say they are really like 17 years old? like your not even kicking them out just trying to say be careful as to not get in trouble...does anyone else just feel uncomfortable? or like when a 58 year old comes in and just sits there...

If they have to deceive others by placing a false age then perhaps they need to reconsider whether or not ChristianChat.com is their forum of calling... or whether or not they should be allowed to congregate in any forums at all.

I haven't done that myself, but sometimes older people come in just because they are curious to see what teens are talking about. But I don't know about the ones who say they are really teenagers. That's strange to me too.

If this is occuring you need to report it to a Moderator.

It is very clear in the sites rules, that people over the age of 19 (except Moderators of course) shouldn't ever be in the Teens room, however, we cannot stop this, if we aren't notified.

We want everyone to feel safe here, so please report any incidents like this.

It's okay for a non-teen to respond in the teen forums, right? Sometimes a teen will ask for advice, and I like encouraging them when possible. So far they've seemed appreciative, but if I have to stop, I will. Also, if someone mentions in a forum post that they put a fake age, is that a reportable offense? Recently a list of things which were reportable was listed in one of the forums, and that wasn't on there. I was hoping the list could be expanded; I have wondered at times whether to report certain offenses. Thanks. :)

I read the rules and it seems to only apply to the chat rooms, which makes sense because this is really just a message board and the chat rooms are live interaction.

It is ok for adults to post in the teen forums. The age limitation is only in the teen chat room.

Thanks for answering, Oncefallen and zeroturbulence. I'd panicked just a little at first; hadn't wanted to have broken any rules. Although, if one of the mods could make a longer list of reportable offences and post it somewhere (or, better yet, PM it to everyone), that'd be great :). And DavidvanHolten, thanks for making me feel a little younger :).

David, it's possible that due to time zones most of the people on this site who are your age are in school when you are online. My friend in Holland is 6 hours ahead of me, and I live on the East coast of the U.S. If I lived on the West coast, we'd be 9 hours apart. Perhaps if you tried the chat room on a weekend if you haven't already, maybe there would be more teens online in you try... perhaps 5pm and later? Or maybe other teens will see your post and post on this thread what time they're usually online. I have heard, though, that it's often more enjoyable to post in the forums; I rarely go on chat myself. :)

I have only occasionally used the chat rooms and havent been in he teen one but I do think this is more fun. In the chat rooms it tends to be just chat where as on here you can get into the nitty gritty things you want to ask about, talk about or debate about.

What time are you usually on? if you just say something in lounge when you come in ill gladly go to teens and chat with you and thanks all for the responses i have reported it to mods when i know but alot of times i dont find out till after they are banned so i just get uncomfortable when people say theyare one age and arent like a kid was 15 and said he was 30 on his profile...just makes me uncomfortable and think theyare creeps
