Scary stuff? sin or no sin?

Okayyy I have a big question that I want to know about. I love to watch scary movies and ready scary stuff. Not anything to gory or terrible blah I don't go that far ever that stuff makes me sick. I just like the stuff that makes you jump and leaves you on the edge of your seat. So is it a sin to watch scary moves?

well... In philippians 4: 8 the bible talks about what we should think about. If they do not affect you normal lovely thinking then feel free to watch them and so to me it is not a sin to watch scary movies. But if they leave you scared and fearful, i would advise you not to watch them coz fear brings torment, but perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4: 18)

Yo Samme, girl you need to stop worrying about so much aye. Just lax out and enjoy being a christian after all we should be the most happy people in the world we have Jesus Christ, not sticken by fear because we think something is a sin.

yEah.. cliffy.. but sometimes its good to know what is sinful and what is faithful.. lol But I think if u dont get mentally traumatized by watching a movie then go ahead.. y not??

I hate scary movies lol because I just dont like being scared and dont understand how some people love it lol

But I do watch actiony stuff like No Ordinary Family

I think it is between you and god.

I'd say that we should be careful what we allow in. We wouldn't walk over to a trash can and put garbage in our mouths. If we don't put garbage in our mouth -- then we shouldn't put it in our mind. I personally choose to stay away from that stuff...becuse of the verse in Philippians 4:8 that says, " Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. " I think it's important that we train our minds to think on good and positive -- godly things. I feel if we don't, we'll stray a bit...which could lead us down a wrong path. It's safer to keep our minds set on godly things. Rather than on things that are of this world, and aren't of God.
(Even if it doesn't have blood in it) ;)

It says "THINK". Doesnt say DONT WATCH. OR DONT LISTEN. People reacts to things differently. If u can take something from it and learn something good then y not? Jesus listened and seen things happening in the world. Did he stare away from the sinful people? He didnt. Cus he could take those things and prevent those things from influencing him. So if someone can see something and doesnt let it have an effect on him/her then its kinda up to that person to see a particular thing aka Scary movies or Action films.
