Do you watch movies that aren't exactly holy?
I really liked the Rocky Horror Picture Show, but my mom grounded me for watching it.
But so many movies have swearing and sex it's hard to find a good one that's completely clean :(
It is hard to find movies that are clean. When my mom was a little kid in the early 1950s her parents used to go to drive in movies because then my mom and aunt could sleep in the back of the car and they wouldn't need a babysitter. My mom loved the movies and would watch them as long as she could stay awake. The crazy thing is that those movies were not meant for children but they were appropriate for children. It would be pretty hard to find a movie like that today. I've seen the odd movie for grown ups that doesn't have anything inappropriate in it, but they wouldn't hold a kid's attention. It seems that most movies now that are appropriate for the whole family are primarily aimed at kids, like the Pixar movies. I saw Up on Friday night (I always see Pixar movies as soon as I can) which was entertaining enough for adults, but it is a kid's movie.

Anyway, for that reason a lot of the movies I see seem to have a lot of adults only stuff in them. I judge a movie based on how things are protrayed and whether or not they cause me to struggle. I mean violence is a big one. Violence in a movie can either be glamorized or shown for what it is, such as in Saving Private Ryan.

Christianitytoday.com's movie reviews are really good at recognizing that. They won't give a movie a bad review solely based on the presence of such things, but rather how they are protrayed. At the end of each review it has a detailed list of all the bad things in it (ie swearing, violence, nudity, sex, drug use etc). I highly suggest you check it out.

i know what u mean, but there r more clean movies out there than what u know about. try older movies like old john wayne ones, the r usually pretty clean
I wouldn't recommend John Wayne. Well, I've only seen one movie with him, so I shouldn't judge his whole career based on that one movie. It was called The Searchers. I saw it for a paper I wrote in my film history class in university. I doesn't have any sex or nudity or... any swearing if I remember correctly, but it does have violence and it's horribly racist. Remember that there's different kinds of sinful movies.

If anyone is thinking of watching The Departed, don't!

Oh man, it is the worst movie of all time. I don't know how it won movie of the year a couple of years ago.

I'll summarise the plot. There are a bunch of horrible men with cell phones who swear at eachother. Some of them work in the police force. Some don't. They make alot of phone calls and swear at eachother. Sometimes they swear at eachother in person. Sometimes, they kill eachother. There's a tall woman who has sex with some of the men. She also has a cell phone. In the end, after alot of swearing and phone calls, all the men die, then a rat runs across a balcony.

In conclusion, it is not hard to win an award for best movie these days.

Fireproof is a good wholesome movie, and the director who made it, has also made other family type movies.

Yeah, and I heard that there's this one scene when Cameron kisses his own screen wife from a distance, he's actually kissing his real life wife. I always wonder how Christian actors handle having to kiss other people in movies. At the church where I went in university the pastor's wife (who I knew pretty well) was an actress, and she's been in some made for TV movies. I should ask her some time.

This is a good movie[The Second Chance] with Michael W. Smith] its a good movie,Facing the Giants was also good. One Night with the King, good movie also.

I only watch rated G,PG maybye PG13 Movies. I dont watch any rated R movies.
I dont like it when in these movies when they take the Lord's Name In Vein, they shouldnt have those in the movies.
it says that in the Bible in the Ten Commandments Exodus 20:7 You shall not misuses the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not Hold anyone guiltless who misuses his Name.

Ahhh, RHPS. A funny but otherwise dirty movie. Like it or loathe it, I don't know.
But you're right in the notion that there is no clean movies nowadays. Ever since I have become more aware of sins, it astounds me how all these shows and movies convey sinful messages and ideals, as if they have no idea they're doing it!
I remember Little Nicky, which was literally about Satan's son. I feel kinda yuck knowing that I watched that and laughed. O Lord, forgive me my sin...

Here is a link to a very handy little site that reviews ALL movies and TV programmes from a Christian perspective. It counts expletives, it tells you how good or not movies are and a whole heap more!

http://www.pluggedinonline.com/movies/

It is a 'Focus on the Family' website.
