You know I leave that up to Jesus. If I find myself talking about him I chalk it up as the Holy Spirit working through me. Let the Holy Spirit lead you and don't worry so much about what people think. Something you say could dramatically change someones life and you won't even know it but they know it and so does God. You are a child of light with the Holy Spirit leading you, guiding you every single day. Pray that, ask the Holy Spirit to live through you and help you with the words you speak. Normally if there is confusion the Holy Spirit lets you know something is up and you need to for sure question it. Normally its the devil confusing you and doing what he does by trying to pull Gods children away from God. Its so annoying but it keeps us needing Jesus to rescue us and be our champion. So something beautiful rises above all evil and that is Gods Love and salvation. The way I look at it, the world can keep itself. Me, I want to know Jesus. I want to talk about Jesus. When I stop wanting to talk about him that is when I know something is wrong inside of my spiritual world and I normally pray and ask God to draw me back to his side and to let no sin have domination over me. So just lean back and trust & let the Holy Spirit work through you when you find yourself talking about him.

If we are to live our lives for Christ, how is there a such thing as talking about him too much?

If it's not genuine, people can tell. Talking about Jesus should be something that oozes from your person, not a religious necessity you force. When Adam was in the Garden did he sit around talking about God 24/7 and talking to Eve about God 24/7. Well maybe he talked about him a lot (genuinely) but he also enjoyed naming the animals, exploring the garden, enjoying Eve's company. Lavishing and living in God's creation. When you see a parrot that says, "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus," it doesn't seem genuine, it appears very fake. Makes you wonder if they're overcompensating. Remember Jesus' warning to the Pharisees:

"Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men--robbers, evildoers, adulterers--or even like this tax collector. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.' But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.' I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."

Luke 18:10-14

Live Jesus on the inside, Live Jesus on the outside, Speak Jesus when its called for

Ok... I get the talking about Jesus when you're trying to talk about a cookie recipe thing... I still want to bring Him up but I get that will probably just push some people away. We are also suppose to tell people about Jesus. We shouldn't try to force it but we do need to tell them. We should tell everyone at least once even if we are taking the chance of them not wanting to hear it. God wants us spreading him. Although, when it comes to thinking about Him all the time... I'm not trying to offend anyone, but please explain this to me. As Christians we are suppose to keep our minds on spiritual things, not earthly things. God made us. Jesus lived a perfect life so that we could be forgiven of our sins.. So please... do tell me why my life shouldn't be wrapped around God?

And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

Matthew 6:5-6 ESV

these verses always pop in my head on this subject.

Now, I realize he's speaking of praying but what i also get from these verses is to be modest. I know people who when you walk in there house they got their walls all pimped out in crosses, angel, doves, inspirational pics,& a pic with the footprints in the sand poem on it. They have all the t shirts, bibles, christian music, etc. but really does that really make a person a christian? When i see a person talk about Christ allllllll the time or when they even cut into other convos to change it to a convo about Christ which is rude. along with other example above i would believe that person is a bonafide 100% FAKE!

Why? Because it seems like their trying to prove to everyone they're a christian displaying christian stuff obsessively in their home & non stop contently bringing up Christ at the most in appropriate times .Do i think having stuff like that in your home bad? No, but if youre a genuine christian you wouldn't be that insecure to be putting so much christian stuff up & on you to show off.

I don't think anyone said you shouldn't be wrapped around Jesus, simply that there are moments where you don't need to be talking about Him. I am a staff nurse and while I will answer questions if work colleagues and patients ask it would be inappropriate and against the professional guidelines for me to try and "convert" people while I am working. Usually at work people will ask about weekend plans, then I will tell them I am going to church and where it is and tell them they are welcome to come but after that I don't bring it up.

Jesus said he is the true vine n to stay connected to him. I notice when I'm not in that bible n thinks it's ok to do other things that is not of Jesus, all hell breaks loose, I have back slide out of church so many time cause of things I thought was ok to do cause I put that book down one to many times n I'm vulnerable to the devil for him to steal, kill n try to destroy me. God said I will keep u in perfect peace who mind is stay on me n I seen when I'm in my bible every day through out the day I'm happy n content. Now I'm scare of anything that has nothing to do with Jesus, when Jesus open up to me he show me he was real in a way that was mind blowing to me I never thought I can be close with my creator like that n to see that he forgives me n we can start over again being best friend is the most beautifulest love I have ever experience no matter what I done. So yes I think every do should be about jesus, music, movies, books you read. That's my life may good bless you n have a wonderful bless day.

This thread is 4 years old, the OP has NOT been online since September 2013, and the last post made was in 2013. Please don't pull zombie threads forward without looking at the creation date first, and whether the OP or who you're responding to has been banned or left the site..

I have worked with people who are like that. They drive everyone else to distraction and then feel they are being persecuted.
They see themselves as soul winners but it has the opposite effect. In any circumstance how a person behaves and relates to others is the best witness.
