how can we change this image. for a women to be perfect and beautiful she needs to be skinny. like completely. How is this even fair? i'm just frustrated with this because i feel as though all the guys i know like the skinny girls. Now me i wouldn't say i'm obese but i'm not skinny. i defiantly have curves. i like to say i have an athletic body i guess. but i have suffered with my body image for as long as i could remember. I've suffered with Anorexia many times. It has got so serious that the doctors told my daily that i was going to die in moment. now i'm recovered but it's hard going from size 1 to 5 or higher. basically the reason i'm starting this chat is i want to know how others think of the image and how they take a look on beauty

Chany, you are a beautiful young woman created by God. I don't understand the skinny attitude some people have, and it seems to come more from women than men, in my experience. It is a little hard to tell you what weight is the correct one, or to tell you to just be healthy, because it's so subjective. To be honest, The best thing we can do is to ask Jesus to fill us with The Holy Spirit. Give everything to Him, and pray for a healthy body image. I hope this helps, sister! -JIM

Apply the verses of scripture, that most people today are happy to ignore.

1 Peter 3:3
Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes.

Try that for a start.

To give a shorter answer: The solution to social ills, such as the objectification of women, is the Gospel.

Really skinny girls to put it bluntly look sickly and unattractive. No one I know has ever purposefully gone for a skinny girl, always women that look like women.

Culture is what culture is. Its not going to change any time soon. Its only going to evolve on its own. Just like hundreds of years ago, overweight women were considered hot, and skinny women were considered sickly and unattractive. All the guys wanted a BBW. That's why in so many old paintings from that era there were so many nude overweight women.
So think about that, women used to complain about being skinny and wanted to put on weight to be considered attractive. But stop worrying so much about it, either a guy finds you attractive or he doesn't. Whether its your size, looks, personality, or anything else, oh well, we can't all be attracted to each other. But there are plenty of guys that don't require skeletons for dating. You seem to be a pretty girl, and don't even appear to be that big, so don't worry. You're still young and have plenty of time to find the guy who appreciates you for you.

I think its important to be confident in who we are as humans, we are all unique, the way we were created , knowing who we are in him
is probly the most important thing we can do for ourselves, we are made in his image, pretty amazing

If a guy wants you to have an unrealistic physique in other for him to like you, then he’s not worth it. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes. Even though the media portrays an unrealistic image like emaciated, airbrushed, and unnatural-looking women, the key is to have a healthy diet and lifestyle and be confident in the skin you are in.
