I don't have the sage wisdom of a teenager who has never walked in these shoes. Frankly I don't have the sage wisdom of anyone who has had to walk in these shoes. All I have to offer is what's on my heart.
Many gays I've talked to have sincerely wanted to stop being gay. They've prayed, confessed, rebuked, the whole deal, and you know what, nothing changed. I've heard the heartbreak in their voice. So those who are going to act like it will just go away insta like, maybe back down, slow down, and understand that's probably the exception to the rule. These are hurting people, and let's be careful of saying and doing things that will put them further into despair.
These are bruised reeds, and we can't crush them or damage them further. We need to find the proper balance between truth, grace, and patience, and frankly some of the sages are messing up gravely and putting these people into further despair. So stop it.
I don't know the answer and solution to this, but I do know the solution isn't to always act like the solution is just an insta snap solution, and the solution probably involves patience, love, and Godly understanding.
