I believe that Denominations are the Devil's way of trying to split the Church and get it to fight among themselves. Plus when we get to heaven were not gonna see ol' Saint Peter sitting up at the pearly gates directing different denominations into different lines. No matter what denomination of christian you are we are all brothers and sisters in Christ. Now my question is what is your take on this?

yes we are brothers and sisters in away but a denomination has it's own doctrine that differs with other denominations., and that make us split...brothers and sisters in

split.. :( . and most of the time it's the doctrine what we most argue with...

This brings me back to my algbra class common denominators!

Seriously, hmmmm at least there must be a common denominator among all denominations "JESUS".....

I was like wondering a question if one goes to heaven's gate and suppose the Saint Peter waiting at the gate is true? I wonder would he ask if you are baptist, born again, evangelical and so on and so forth...... It is all about Jesus.....

Would that not be just absolutely hysterical ha, walking up to the gate and Peter just stops you not to turn you away but just out of curiosity that question.

Some people call me pentecostal or charasmatic, I prefer follower of Jesus.

God doesn't say you will speak in tongues, raise the dead, heal the sick etc. if your charasmatic, no if you 'believe'...........if someones denomination doesn't accept the Truth they should get over themselves and repent.

So yes, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.

But with God's help I want to love all my brothers and sisters!

I kinda agree, denominations tend to cause division

I always hear about all the division over denominations, but never really see it. I do often see lots of division over individual doctrines.

Haha, yeah I was gonna say; there's enough division with or without denominations. Denominations just make it a more peaceful division.

Well there should be no division at all We are the Church, We are the body of Christ. How can a body that is divided do anything? Thats why I'm nondenominational.

The denominations are just peoples way of trying to find
the truth through an assembly structure. - "Well, no one likes me there so I'll go
over here",.......until someone says nice things to them.
Some are born into......
Others are based on professional aspirations; - (Southern Baptists are to Masons as Catholics are to Knights of Columbus), and so forth.

Denominations are often the result of different people interpreting the Bible and their experiences differently. However, a lot of them also have the same doctrines, they just minister in different geographical areas.

Well there should be no division at all We are the Church, We are the body of Christ. How can a body that is divided do anything? Thats why I'm nondenominational.
How is being nondenominational not a a sign of the division itself? Even nondenominational is still different from Catholic, Presbyterian, Baptist, etc.

Even among denominations that have theological differences, I don't often see much heated disagreement between them. I think most of us understand that all that really matters is that Jesus is Lord and Savior. The Bible doesn't say that we must believe any other sorts of doctrines to be saved, just serve God. I have friends and family from all branches of Christianity and I'm sure that, if they're following Jesus, they're every bit as saved as I am.
