Proverbs 18:20-21
20 From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled;
with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied.

21 The tongue has the power of life and death,
and those who love it will eat its fruit.

Want joy, speak joy. Want fear, speak fear. Sounds too simple, but why complicate what's written.

However, in my own life it hasn't been a case of saying I want joy just one time, and super-abundant joy coming. But a process.........having said that God's able to work in a moment, so don't limit Him!

I was thinking when I wrote 'want fear, speak fear', it sounds strange, why would people want fear. But from my own life, sometimes I have enjoyed playing the martyr, oh God I'll never be able to do this, and lo and behold I found what I was doing difficult. Which gave me satisfaction, see I told you I wouldn't be able to do it ;) and I liked being right!

But how much better to humble ourselves, and say I can do this through Christ. Whatever you need to do......you can do all things through Christ strengthening you! All the time God has available what you need.

Humble yourselves, ask for help!
Matthew 7:7 Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Ask, Seek, Knock. ASK (thanks Joseph Prince :) )

Need power, ask for power. You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you......Acts 1:8, and how much more will the Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him Luke 11:13. And plenty more examples for whatever need you have at the moment.

So don't be in sorrow, the joy of the LORD is your strength. There's a lost world out there, on the way to eternity in hell, who don't need you feeling sorry for yourself. This is for me as much as anyone reading. Dankjewel for reading, same time next week maybe :)

Thanks Timofree. I was meditating along the very same Proverb this morning. And, what you have written here adds more insight into my already formulated thoughts. The tongue, is such a powerful weapon. And, so is the mind. I have experienced both, negatively and positively. I believe, that if you think positive things and speak positive things, your outcome, in whatever you do, shall be positive. Vice-versa.
However, positive thoughts are not enough. They have to be invested into feelings and actions. The mind and tongue are really THAT powerful. My mom has this habit of writing a "Quote for the Day" every morning on this blackboard of hers. This morning, on my way out to work, this is what I read on it - "You can change your world by changing your words... Remember, death and life are in the power of the tongue."
