Hey everybody. My friends and I had a bible study going for a few months but then we stopped because of conflicting schedules. Well we're going to start it up again, and I'm usually the guy who runs the lessons, but I'm not sure what we should study. We have a mix of people - a couple of us really want to dig deep and get into the meat, but other people need to go through the basics. Do you guys have any ideas?

Hi socperkins,

Hope you don't mind an oldie like me jumpiness in with a suggestion.

You can find D A Carsons daily devotionals online here: For the Love of God

although they are devotionals he goes right through the whole bible giving you an overview of redemptive history and what the whole bible is saying.

These could be a springboard for discussion and your meetings. (DA Carson, is one of the foremost NEW Testament Scholars around)

Just an idea. but use something like that to start discussion. let everyone know a wek in advance of what scripture you are looking at to give everyone a chance to study it and that should help with the meetings.

Of course, well done for having the meetings in the first place :)

May God bless you guys.

The Basics are important, if you have some new people, or people who aren't at the same place as you and the others are Spiritually then I would suggest do the basics all of you, and the ones who want to go deeper, set up a different date for more in depth studies, at least until they get caught up to where you are now.

I know my Church Bible studies, we did the Basics twice in two months, because new people kept joining the Church and wanted to get baptized in Jesus' name etc...
