I've met few Christians who claim, being solitary having no fellowship with other christians, they can stand in faith and can move on without others help.

I believe, we need to have Good Christian Friends, so that, we can stand at times of trials or temptation by their Warnings, Encouragement and Prayers.

Daniel had Godly Friends.

Daniel 2:17-18
Then Daniel went to his house, and made the decision known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, 18 that they might seek mercies from the God of heaven concerning this secret, so that Daniel and his companions might not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon

Can a person be strong as a Christian being solitary ??? Without going to Church, Prayer meetings, Bible Study Groups or Christian Friends Circle.???

When christians are together, they can encourage each other, prayer for each other and sharpen each other. Even God recnognised that it was not good for Adam to be alone.

Having said that I think that in certain circumstances, God does give supernatural strength to people in certain situations.

I remember a story some time ago about a person who became a Christian in a remote non-Christian country. For a long time he was the only Christian for miles around.

Hope some of you would have read the book Tortured for Christ. It centers around the tortures the Christian Missionaries endured in communist Russia. It says about a small incident where a couple have known about God though they grew up without the knowledge that there exists a God.

They were potters. One day the wife said to the husband, "See, how could we have made so many vessels like this if only this thumb is not there in its place? So there should be a God who made this wonderful design of human hands. We have been told that there is no God but let us thank the God who made our thumbs". And they both started thanking the God who made thumbs. After some years the person who wrote the book went to that village as a missionary and when he shared the message that there is God, there was great merry and rejoice.

This sometimes happens in special cases like this. It can't happen for all.. so if we can find good fellow Christians, we have to mingle with them and share our views and time with them so that we have a support in times of need, as Richie has mentioned.

Cheers,
Preethi

The Bible says we shouldn't neglect the gathering of the brethren- that means fellowship with one another. I honestly don't think we can do without that. We need each other cos we achieve more together especially bcos we christians are 'ALIENS' or FOREIGNERS in this world.
You know, Jesus had an inner circle of friends- Peter, James and John...Have you ever wondered why Jesus sent forth His disciples in twos???
The Bible says two are better than one...No man or in this case,no christian is self made and no man is an island...
We need encouragement from one another, we need counsel, guidance...etc
Just remembered this scripture somewhere in proverbs that says-"In the multitude of counselors, there is safety"

all the way from the beggining GOD Jehovah made men to have a partner. Did he not make woman for man to not be alone?
Did not Adam walk with God in the garden, and talked. Men where created to have fellowship, not to be alone.
Fastfoward to the new testament and you find that Jesus send out his disciples by twos so if one fell the other was there to help him up.
For its hard fr a person to be a ble to resist temptecion on his own, and needs brothers or sisters to be there to help when all has failed to help them resist the emptacion. or find all the Godly options to deal with the problem. We are not to be and island and to be by our selfs. Jesus said when two or more are gather, there I shall be in there mist.

if you seperate your self from the church it will be easier for the devil to twist the word, and confuse you. United we stand seperated we fall.:(

Having a christian friend is really essential, human as we are, we are vulnerable and in times like that only christian friends will understand and can comfort us, though someone can comfort you but it's really different when it comes from someone who shared the same faith with you.

1Th_5:11 So then, encourage one another and build each other up, as you are doing. [as what we are doing]
