If you want abortions to stop, support safe sex. B/c people will have unsafe sex if they can't have safe sex, it's that simple. Not gonna argue with you. I'm a college student, I know people my age A LOT better than any of you. I know how they think and as a member of the Greek system, I know that safe sex is the only way to slow the rate of abortion.

There was an episode of a Penn & Teller show (can't say the name of the show but it's not one of their magical performances) where they covered abstinence only teaching and asked the people who have had abstinence only education that if, since we're all human, they ended up succumbing for whatever reason, would they use a condom? The bulk of them said no and very very few said yes. That right there is your reason abortion rates are so high. The people who think that providing them with condoms will just make it easier for them to have sex don't seem to realize that they're going to have sex anyways whether or not you give them a condom, kind of like the people who are for gun control laws don't seem to realize that criminals will have guns anyways whether or not it's against the law. Does that mean we should tell them it's okay to just have sex whenever they want? Of course not. In an ideal world we would convince people to wait till they were ready which the general belief is when they are married. But we don't live in that world, and until we do people need to be educated on contraception and have condoms made available to them. They're going to have sex either way is the reality, but at least this helps to prevent them from either creating a life that will not have the parents it needs to support it, or cause a pregnant teen to put her body at risk through an abortion.

Then I hate to say, I do not and CAN not agree with you. Imposing your moral obligations on all Americans is 1. impossible and 2. unconstitutional.
I did not say condoms are evil. I did not say they should or should not be in the colleges. I asked you what it meant to you, as you should not be in the situation to be using them. Unless of course fornication "isn't" a sin either.

"Christians" who fight all day about abortions clearly do not want them to be stopped. If they did, they would support Safe Sex causes on college campuses and high schools. That would DRASTICALLY drop the abortion rate. But teens and young 20's are greatly uninformed about ways to stay safe and have sex. It's extremely unrealistic to say that people shouldn't have sex outside of marriage. B/c many college kids who are christian still do, and many college kids aren't christian at all. The christian right's push to stop abortions is fruitless. It will never be illegal, and they refuse to support safe sex. They're behind the times and can never win this battle. I'm pro-choice but i'm MUCH rather have a girl and a guy use protection than get an abortion. Clearly, people in this sect of Christianity can't see this and will never win this battle b/c of the veil over their eyes.
Everything you say is politically charged. Can we stick to the bible here?

The bible and God govern our lives. Not the DNC or RNC. Please, stop this partisan non-sense. Let's sit down at the table and ask, "WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY?"

Need I remind you, this is ChristianChat.com, not politico.com?

I'm talking about the LEGAL status of abortion and contraception. So, yes, very political. I don't understand why I have to have a personal experience with something to believe it should be around. I don't have sex with my girlfriend, but if I did, I would want her to be safe and be completely free of ever having to DECIDE about having an abortion.

Do you think a human being is in the position to decide about matters of life and death?

What are you even talking about?
Using a condom doesn't kill anything.
Re-Read everything I said then come back to me.

This suggests that we are ultimately responsible for a human life.

When we know how to make one then yeah that gives us some level of responsibility.
They way I've put it is slightly misleading. I mean that the quote above suggests that human beings are ultimately the ones who are to decide whether another innocent human being is allowed to live or not.

To properly combat PPH, we must transform the individual.
I agree. the best birth control is NOT TO HAVE SEX unless you want to have a baby.

I'm against abortion unless the person was raped, underage or will die from medical complications.

If you chose to have SEX then you have already had your CHOICE. that's what I think on the subject.

Teaching people morals and make it so sex out of wedlock is not morally acceptable would be a big step in that direction.

Girls if the guy says "if you love me you will do...this" then

just tell them "if you loved me you wouldn't ask me to do what I don't feel comfortable doing and you would WAIT until marriage"

Don't trade your body for fake love, it doesn't last.

Seek God with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind and all else will be added and given to you.

Son, it is not my nature to react harshly, but I must say that I believe you are on the wrong web site. You have fallen into all of the clever traps that the devil has laid, starting in the 60's when "free love" first made its appearance. (1) Sex is a beautiful gift from God. How could it ever be wrong? (2) They are going to do it anyway. We might as well give them contraceptives. (3) Who are we to say when a fetus becomes human? Shouldn't a woman be able to choose if she wants a baby?

Jimmydiggs is absolutely right. Let's take a look at the Scriptures. In Exodus and Deuteronomy, we are told that extra-marital fornication is against God's law. Proverbs 13, verse 24, tells us "Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them." Also, there is "Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline will drive it far away." (Proverbs 22:15) That seems to imply (to me anyway) that we should teach our children abstinence instead of just giving in. Finally, Jeremiah 1:4-5, says "The word of the Lord came to me, saying,“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart;..." And in Psalm 139:13-14, we find "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;..." More than sufficient evidence, in my opinion, that "life begins at conception".

No person can condone abortion and call themselves a Christian! As with all things, of course, we should "hate the sin but love the sinner". But, in no way, should we sit back and say nothing. The Books of Leviticus and Numbers are quite clear on unintentional sin. It is still sin. And, in Luke 17:1-3, Jesus said "Jesus said to his disciples: 'Things that cause people to stumble are bound to come, but woe to anyone through whom they come. It would be better for them to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around their neck than to cause one of these little ones to stumble. So watch yourselves.'"

If you saw a five-year old child about to be murdered, would you not try to intervene? I think the scriptural evidence is clear. And it adds up to the fact that Planned Parenthood is an evil organization that has led millions of young women in this country into sin.
