Okay so I'm very into fashion, weave, tattoos ect.. I have a very subtle, reserved, easy going personality. Alot of "older" people look at me as if I'm fast, sneaky.. ect.. especially at church!!!! I've done nothing to prove their allegations true.... I would like to be accepted by all which I know is only a dream, lol. But my question is.. should I change myself for acceptance?

you say "look at me as if...." other than your perceptions of how some looks at you do you have any verifiable proof that this is a common perception

The only thing you should strive to change about yourself is the parts that are lacking when it comes to being like Christ.

That being said, ya got to remember that Christianity isn't always going to be very easy going. The cross comes before the crown. A lot of folks were offended at what Jesus said or were not able to accept His standards and stopped following Him. Strive to keep His word and to be like Him and you shall do well.

God bless you.

I have never fit in. And i haven't changed to suit others. You will never be happy with yourself being how others put on you to act. As a teen i listened to (and still do) Christian metal. So i looked like a metal head and acted like a Christian. So when i went to school i was shunned by most other metal guys for being a Christian. Then i would go to church and not fit in for looking like a metal head. But regardless i continued on as a metal head at church and as a Christian at school. Many may shun you for it, but others will be drawn to you because of your ability to stay true to yourself. And often times those are people who, like you, don't fit in. And this can allow you to be a witness to those who feel they are not accepted and allow you to teach them to acceptance in Christ.

I'm a fashionista myself! And this is my only rule to my clothing... "If ur clothing is a frame for ur face from which th glory of Christ springs forth, it is of God. But if ur clothing is a frame for ur body, it is sensual (arousing gratification of th senses and physical, sexual pleasure), and God hates it! " quote form Mrs. Paul Washer

Elders can be clueless on fashion trends (I receive some critics on my crazy trendsetter ideas w/ clothes, hair, etc.) but I do cool down for them. Why? because they're an elder, 1 Timothy 5:1-2 - "Rebuke not an elder, but intreat [him] as a father; [and] the younger men as brethren.." The way we look does mattr to God as well or He would had not changed Adam and Eve's fig leave outfits. I always think about what I'm wearing and if it glorifies God (and then if it's totally in style and cute :D ) Because we r to glorify Him in everything we do...

U should nevr change anything as a Christian for acceptance of othrs, only God's acceptance of u and what u do mattrs. We change for Him only :) Hope my advise helps some

I'm very much the same misstee, really into fashion. I love clothes, shoes, bags...the whole of it.
Anyways

I've had older and younger people alike snub me. One day i sat down with one of the women that was acting this way torwards me and i basically said. What's your problem? (but nicer :D)
She said she percieved me as being really stuck up, because i was quiet and i didn't make a huge effort to speak with people. I explained to her i was just shy and it's hard for me to just go up to someone and just start....talking.

Maybe pull someone aside sometime and ask him or her why their acting the way they are towards you.
I've also had older women think I'm vain for liking fashion. That could be some of it too.

Bottom line, you won't know for certain unless you ask.

You don't need to change for acceptance. :)

If I were you, in that predicament, I would be concerned if God accepts me as I am and, second, If I´m accepting me... The rest s easy going.

Well if the people you are trying to change for is God Himself then yes….change. If not then no, don't change. You NEVER change for people, you only change for God and yourself. If you like those things that's because you like them, and that's just what you're interested in. God made you special and DIFFERENT. You know how boring this world would be if we were all the SAME? God is in LOVE with who you are! Why would He create you if He meant for you be someone else? Don't you think that you were meant to be a better version of yourself? That's the whole purpose of Christianity. Being a better version of yourself. Living for God and loving His people. That simple. No where in the Bible does it say change for me, him or her.

read God's word and line yourself up to it. If you walk according to how God told us that is all that matters. But remember not to put a stumbling block before your brother

Get God, Hug Jesus, and take hold of the Holy Ghost. ..Who cares of what others think...Hey they thought Jesus was crazy and whacked out...but he still walked and strived...
