I don't like the type of preaching here in the local church.Pastors always talk about blessings..blessings.It couldn't get into my heart. It doesn't help me know more about God.Shall I still go?98% are the elderly.I go with grandma,I never meet a young brother or sister there,I know nobody.Besides,I do not like the type of thinking salvation is found in serving the church, attending the church,it's found in Christ. But if I see church is for the purpose of worship, gaining knowledge and finding God are in private,I shall still go.I am not satisfied with just the Sunday morning.I want Him in my free time,in whatever time I could find.I am sorry I had trespass this morning.

I am ever amazed at all the nations represented on this forum. I know of nothing like it.

Parking a horse in a garage, does not make him a car. I don't know what kind of local church you go to. If it is a bunch of unsaved people playing church, it is useless and can be bad, because an unsaved person can join such a "church," and then think he is saved -- and thus resist the presentation of the gospel & actually getting saved.

Are there no real believers where you live? Just church goers? Perhaps you need to pray for a real church.

You are so right; salvation is only in the Savior, not in works. Make sure first you are saved yourself. Depend on the Lord Jesus to save you if you have not. Call on His name & ask Him to save you if you have not ever trusted Him with your destiny (I speak of the Son of God, 2nd person of the Trinity, YHWH who became man, died on the cross, paid for our sins, & rose from the dead. You might find the Lord in some real church, or alone in your bedroom. Once a man trusts Christ as Savior, then He is advised not to forsake the assembly with other Christians.

I'm not sure of all the dynamics of being a Christian in China. I don't know if you're bound to going with your grandma only. Who knows.

I think there is always one thing good you can pull out of a church service. I've been to many different types of churches and there is always at least one good thing that can be gleaned. If you're stuck going to the grandma's church, then look for one thing in the service that blesses you.

If you're able to own and read a Bible, make use of that for the "more" that you seek. You can view sermons online, download podcasts, buy Christian ebooks. There are many resources available to Christians today who want "more" than what they get on Sunday. So make use of those if you can.

I am serious and scared, I want to be saved.I pray everyday in my bedroom and hope to find God's presence and He sees me.But I am not sure of the things I have said.I try to spend more time on Bible and stay away from TV.I struggle with temper and other inner sins and bad habbits.I am like a baby.I know it's not enough. At the moment,I am waiting at home for starting my first job,I am blessed with time to read my Bible.I have cried to Him to save me several times and pray that He helps me and guide me everyday. My faith is too little.Obedience and trust is a lesson I need to learn.I am also confused of praying according to God's will.I tell Him what I could think of at that moment.

Yesterday when I was leaving the church,I saw some papers on wall displaying the names and donation money of church members to new church building.Immediately,I remember Jesus said,do not let your left hand know what your right hand has done. Why pastors did that?

blessing means a lot in our lives as christians. bcos God has ordained it for us. but it should not be the basis of our daily sermon. i think we need to pray more than to listen to blessing sermons.

Pray and ask God to lead you to a fellowship that will help you grow in Spirit. :) (Currently doing that myself).
