So to help me undrstand how the new works with the old. With things in the old testament that told you to stobe certain people or if you raped a woman you had to pay the father and then marry the woman.

How do you still follow that old testament rules with the new testament.

I'm sorry if I confused you I don't really know how to explain it
No I don't follow the ceremonial or civil laws in the Old Testament; those were in place for the Israelites for guidance and to ensure that they were living in holiness as God's chosen people. It shows you the state of mankind prior to the coming of the Savior; those laws are not meant to save anyone, salvation comes only through Jesus Christ.
Galatians 3:23-26
23-But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
24-Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25-But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26-For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

Like I said before there are certain occurrences in the OT that are for our learning and should not be overlooked, like the lives of some OT characters, God's righteousness and promises, words of wisdom in the Psalms, Proverbs, and Ecclesiastics, prophecies of the Messiah and the end times, and much more.
Without the OT you won't completely understand the New Testament.

I hope this will help you.

as in "poof* another bible appeared? Or a random guy said he had a revelation?
- I'd assume it was some joke

However, I always wonder, when people talk about the law, if the follow the OT rules for what can and cannot be eaten :?

Well the only way I could answer you is to say how would you know god sent or for this question sake you knew god sent down this new testament

So basically you learn from the bad to start good with the new

PS. New testaments do appear, you need look no further than Mormonism.

but that doesn't make them God's Word.

How would I react? the same way I did react, I walked out of the Mormon church and followed the music that echoed off of the buildings that lead me 2 miles away to a lake where a man was preaching on a stage and I watched 20 people get saved that day and it was one of the greatest experiences of my life.
Are you the guys who like to annoy me by knocking on my door in the early hours of the morning

Answer the door wearing clothes stained in ketchup, holding a running chainsaw. Works every time.
But they may call the cops what if I put a poster the size if the door of a naked woman that way they wouldn't want to knock or touch the poster

If JW means God, then that's a nice on. :)

The Bible is what it is, take it or leave it.
The question "what if there was a another testament,"
although it be hypothetical,
is useless and a waste of your time.
As useless as wondering what would happen if
"pigs had wings."

Tell me how to stop it
I will answer the door with bed head and usher them into the living room onto the couch and put coffee on :) I relish the opportunity to talk about God and Truth :) If you really want to stop them , get some pamphlets that are labelled something like "saving jehova's witnesses" and leave them in a box near your doorbell.
