Once you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that he rose from the grave you are saved. Once you have been given the Holy Spirit you do not belong to yourself anymore but belong to the LORD because you were bought with a price, which is the pain, humiliation, suffering and precious blood of our Saviour Jesus Christ. Being a Christian means dying to yourself. Once you believed in Jesus your old self was crucified with Him and if you are truly God's Child you are Born again a new creature, not wanting to please yourself but to please God.

Do you believe that your homosexuality is an abomination? That it is displeasing to the Lord?

Luke 16:13 "No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.”

Here Jesus has in mind the particular sin of love of money ("You cannot serve God and money"), but the principle that you cannot serve two masters applies to all sin. If you stop the struggle to live like the new man you are a slave to sin. Does this mean you have to leave God? No, it means you have already left God.

It's hard. The thing is everyone is born with different problems and different struggles and this happens to be yours. If your new then the fight for it is going to be the most rough I can promise you that. But it's like any other problem after awhile, you can overcome it. My teacher told me about people who have struggled with this and now they live happy lifes in familys.
The devil wants you to believe theres no way out and that this is never going away but thats a lie!.
1 peter 5:7
Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

He cares, now do you? Do you want to give up or do you want to win. I can't make this choice for you or guilt you into it, this is up to you.
You either fight to win or you fail and fall down.
I encourage you to win

I've been wondern the same thing. But i'm sure that we must die to ourselves. whatever our temptations are, i hope that we can recognize not our will but God's will. Though we make mistakes i hope that we dont ever give up seeking Gods will. I hope we don't fossilize sin in our hearts. God will save us and cleanse us. Though the walk is hard, we must walk. remember that this world hated god first, and this world is definitly going to hate us for believeing God and following his will. But we have to follow, because he leads us through fire, and everlasting peace. where there will be no more hurt or cry. OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

I was trying to determine where you were at, is all. Not trying to make you feel bad.

There is hope if you believe that because if you conform your mind to Christ's then he will conform you. Don't cease praying. I used to be an alcoholic and prayed for what seemed like the longest time and then one night, out of the blue, he started working on me and now I am no longer an alcoholic.

You can and you will be free. Stay close to Christ and DO NOT give up for one second. Keep going. He WILL deliver you.

You're loved though...always remember that it is not a hate situation or anything and youre not displeasing Him - I'd say it's your sin that's disobeying.
I'm gonna pray for you.
The people who are aware of what they have to do to get right with God are the wise ones in my eyes. They dont go with The "ohhh i was born this way and ima keep followin it, screw the religions!" but more .."hang on a minute - God has His eye on me - would He be happy knowin that Im continuing doing this?"

Also, you're already confessing your sin. But i dont know what the answer is..just want you to know that He really wants you to change for your own good:)

Hmm...

I sympathize with your pain of feeling like there are things that you can't do. I don't think its your fault. I am more inclined to blame Pastel Christianity and the feel good religion of Christian Commercialism. You know, Christ as seen through the eyes of a bunch of Precious Moments figurines and feel good sayings that hang over the TP in the Christian book store. In all inclusive, like Club-Med. Sin a little here, sin a little there, not a big deal cause you're forgiven.

Thats not the faith I signed up for. I'm not here to make friends. There are people who gather in China and get sent to prison for spreading the Gospel. In Iran you just disappear. In North Africa they cut off the heads of women and children before the men who love them with Machetes. The world is a dark and dangerous place beyond the luxury of high speed internet and Religious freedom.

I'm not a very Politically Correct person. If your hand causes you to sin cut it off. It is better to enter the Kingdom of Heaven than to go to Hell trying to ''Be Yourself.'' When you chose to be a Christian, you counted the cost of what that meant. Like Jesus talks about, it is a foolish endeavor to construct something before you have measured what it might require of you.

I like all of what you said except the part about "not making friends". If what you meant by that is making friends is not the point in life, it is loving and serving Jesus then I get what you mean. If you mean that not to make friends at all then I don't agree. Jesus made friends when He was on Earth. We are to follow Jesus' example and love others. Only then can anyone see Jesus in our lives. I just think you should elaborate on that point in your writing. I don't exactly know what you meant by that.

idk...... im too messed up to ever be "right" again. like maby if i had looked for help when i was younger it would of been ok, but i feel like i can never change and im feeling more like just forgetting about religion and living my life and not have to think about it all the time.

i pray to god every night, and i Liston for his voice, i used to want to change with all of my hart... now im losing faith

how bad sin is it to still be attracted to the same sex but dont act on it? (im not in a relationship, but i am lonely)

im not hurting any one...

Sin is acting on a certain desire not being a certain way,
when I get mad I want to hit someone, is that a sin? No I can't control the way I feel but I can control if I dwell on it or act on it. You need to read your bible. That was the only thing that broke my addictions.

Since you've been dealing with this for a while, you probably already know what most people are going to say: it isn't the attraction that's the sin, but acting on it. It is a temptation; even Jesus was tempted but did not sin.

I'm not going to try to give you any advice but I do want to acknowledge your difficult position. You seem to be asking about forgiveness of something which isn't in itself a sin. You're confused and stressed. A couple of deep breaths. Hope you get some good advice, though, from someone.

You're not the only one struggling. I struggle with homosexual thoughts myself. Though I have never physically acted on them, they still plague me. This scripture has really encouraged me:

Matthew 26:41
Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

We can try all we can to please the Lord by doing things that we think will please Him even if it doesn't please us. It is only by God's power can we turn away from temptation and thus not sin.

This is the one thing that will save us from temptation: KNOW GOD AND BE KNOWN BY HIM.
What I mean is that we must have our relationship with God be our priority. Talk to Him everyday, read the Bible, in everything (even the sad and angry times) worship Him. Ask God to reveal His attributes (characteristics, who He is) to you. Also we must let Him know us. Tell Him about yourself even though He already knows. Strengthen your relationship with Him.

If our goal in life is to please God then we will fail. If our goal is to KNOW God is a real and intimate way and for Him to know us then pleasing Him will result from that. You want to please someone you love right? If God is the one person you love more than anyone then pleasing Him should be easy. Also, as Christians we have the Holy Spirit which helps us please Him.

The more we know God and let Him know us, the more we don't even want to displease Him. What He finds displeasing, we will find displeasing. A strong relationship with God changes our desires. We will desire what God desires and will not desire what God does not desire.

The point is this: We cannot change our desires, only God can but that does not happen until God is our biggest desire of all. He will handle everything else. Proverbs 3:5-6

5Trust in the LORD with all your heart
And do not lean on your own understanding.
6In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He will make your paths straight.

Do not lean on yourself, don't even trust yourself, trust God, lean on Him. Acknowledge Him also means submit to. Submit yourself to God and He will show you the way that pleases Him and you will desire to go that way because you love Him.

I confirm this from my own experience. The closer I am with Jesus, the more I don't desire the homosexual thoughts and temptations and they are easier to flee from.

Nobody ever said life would be easy because you became a Christian. A wise dude did however say that we would be persecuted and tempted more because we are.

You are not alone in the way you feel about sin taking over you.
