A young man in his 20s left a professional football career to become an army ranger for the united states. 5 months after leaving football, he was sent to iraq in an uncalled for invasion. This young man was not killed by enemy fire but accidentally shot by a fellow american soldier.
Before his funeral it was supposed he was agnostic, but during the funeral it was made clear he was atheist. Not because he rejected the truth, but because he was unsure of it. This young man, according to family had wanted to know the truth. He had read numerous religious books including the bible, the quran, the book of mormon.... searching for the answer. Unfortunately because of this selfish political conspiracy, this young mans life was cut short and no one ever told him the love that Our Father has for him. There was no reason for an invasion on iraq. Not only did this potential future witness of Christ die in this battle but also innocent women and children. By the hands of a greedy government wanting to make more money, to have more power and longer terms.
I cried when I thought of this tonight. This young man searched for true answers and no one told him the truth. Or I should say his life was cut short before one of us got the chance to share the truth and love with him.
