I was educated and raised as a Roman catholic. In 2004 I turned to Jesus. After I had moved to Elmshorn near Hamburg, I looked for a church community and found one, a pentecostal one. I was baptised because of my belief on the 18th of September in 2005.

I am really happy with my church community.

Descyple. I did not say he founded it, I said he basically started it or was the catalyst. There is a difference. As for A.B. Simpson, I forget about him, my bad. Thank you for the info. God bless.

I attend a 'bapticostal' church :)
half way between pentecostal and baptist :) not all about the feeling, but not the frozen chosen either...
Rachel, you attend a "bapticostal" church???

Does that mean you guys raise your hands in the air and dance while being baptized in water?

Just kidding!!!

Two things: One...that is as well put as anything I have read on this site. and two...I'm stealing that stone-casting line!!!

The problem we are almost all guilty of though is that we only ever ascribe such condemnation to others...

You, for example, clearly believe you have not been taught lies.
But you are sure others have.

And somewhere there will be someone that solidly believes you have been taught lies and what they have been taught is God's true gospel.

Casting stones at others does not make one right. It just makes one a stone-thrower.

No problem willfollowsGod. And I would definitely agree that A.W. Tozer's early presence and blessed ministry helped further the Alliance denomination's godly influence in both the United States, and later here in Canada.

God bless you too Brother.

Whats wrong with raising our hands in the air to praise GOD???? people do it all the time to worship a basketball or football team. And dance while being baptized??? Really? Is that how you view Pentecostals? Have you ever "danced" in a baptistery? THERE'S NO ROOM!!!!

Slow your roll just a bit, I'm pretty sure you've misunderstood his post.

One time I was visiting some churches in a new area.
At one particular church they were just pestering me to death;
I'm standing there after the service with all these people in
my face bombarding me with questions about everything in my life.

Finally one lady says, "What was your last church? Where did you go?"

I looked her calmly in the eye, smiled, and said,
"The First Church of Satan."

Suddenly I was all alone in the foyer... and all was calm again.
Ahhh.
Peace and quiet at last.

roll coming to a stop. sorry
I understand the reaction. Pentecostals aren't well liked by many, but I don't think he was criticizing so much as making a humorous gesture at the seeming oxymoron of being "Bapticostal."

I go to a Pentecostal or Assemblies of God church. I've never felt the Holy Spirit like I did when I entered that church.

Yeah Rachel, I was the guy up in the balcony in your church during the baptism service (I was up there instead of on the floor level because I didn't want to get wet, however since I'm a full-on Baptist I did bring an extra set of towels from my church's vast collection for the Baptizees, and I had our elders pray over the towels first, so the "Pentecostal" aspect of your church would accept them - lol).

And regarding hand raising - the only hand raising I do in church is when we have an after-service auction for all the left-over food from our last picnic!!!

P.S. The Tim Hawkins video was hilarious!!! I guess that means he's not Baptist - lol. I will provide the link below for others to watch.

that does work well if people don't leave you alone badgering you as some have going door to door, my spouse has done that and they never came back, what a shame that I know I can unfortunately not listen the first time when someone says they do not want to hear it and the other continues on not listeniing, and so to get peace we get them to scatter by what they fear, and when they run how is it when I see this that they know God, they just demonstrated that God is not more powerful than Evil, WoW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Blows my mind
