What would Jesus and the disciples think of this? It gave me a really uneasy feeling.

so that's what worshiping God in spirit and in truth looks like...

idk, Katy. I think Rick Joyner and the rest of those NAR/third wave guys would creep out most true disciples of Jesus.

I watched it but I really hated the editorial comments. The video just shows some "Holy Rollers". I do believe that some forms of witchcraft are in some churches but this video did not show any occult practices The editorial comments seemed to be based on one's person's beliefs.

For instance he says that this comes from C. Peter Wagner, in an attempt to broad brush him with this. I doubt C. Peter Wagner attends a church like this.

But isn't Wagner known to dabble in Eastern mysticism, desert Fathers etc?

It looks a lot like certain sects of paganism actually. Using drums and chanting to "raise energy" to call on God/goddess and having everyone share in that. If they were "Holy Rollers" where was the scripture? Dans I've read some of your posts you should be able to recognize that too. Next they're going to call the guardians to protect their services??????

This is demonic.

Now I understand this.... VERY CLEARLY.... Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

I don't know if there is anything wrong with using these types of drums in worship. I'm sure Christians in other non-western cultures use drums like these just fine for worship.

A woman saying my deep calls out to your deep over and over isn't necessarily wrong.

The chanting in some apparent unknown tongue without an interpreter is unbiblical.

Well this much I know the Holy Spirit does not share the temple of God with demons. 2 Cor. 6:14:17. The sign gifts claimed by the church today were and are for the Jews not for Gentiles.

Uneasy is putting it mildly. This is without understanding of God's Word; naive of the followers, and the leader/spokesperson displays the character of a charlatan.

This is why I stay out of protestant churches. Just look at the nonsense that goes on these churches.

The missionary who works in Africa came to our church. He said that the people have voodoo so deep in their culture that it often is in the church, there. He told of one woman who came to them, saying she was ill because of a voodoo spell. He had worked there enough years that he promised to help her. He and his helper worked with her for hours. It was like fighting demons. And she was well, after that. He says that this terrible cult has power.

The Catholic church in the south of the US is allowing voodoo into the church, there. They say that if they didn't, many would not accept Christ as they also believe in what voodoo says, so by doing this they save many who otherwise would not have Christ as their savior.

I looked up articles about it on the net. There are stores that sell supplies for voodoo, there are priests, but it isn't an organized church, really. It is part of other churches. One article made a chilling statement. They said that it is no different from the pagan practices that our very early church made as part of the Christian religion.

Look at our history! James, brother of Christ, was head of our church based in Jerusalem. He was killed in 62. Then Rome destroyed the temple along with thousands of Jews in 72. Our church head went to ex pagans, to the gentiles. More and more there was a separation from OT thinking, until Constantine. Our church was a loose mishmash of ideas until he unified them with the Nicene Council, mostly a wonderful happening. But there were things decided there that James, brother of Jesus, would have objected to and I think we should, too.

Christ meant us to know God the Father well, but to grow in maturity through Him. From Genesis to Revelation, we are to keep to the one true God, never letting other Gods creep in at all in any way. I think we should watch our church with a scrub brush in hand.

Any proof of this? You just throw that out there. If what you say is true, then it is not a Catholic Church
