Cleaned my neighbors bathroom today. He's in his 60's and has had two hip replacements.

I love threads like these and there is no reason it should die because Christians should have plenty of good deeds towards their neighbors to share and encourage us!!! If you have people in your very own neighborhood who are struggling somehow, it is our duty to help them, whether it be clean their toilet, paint their house, mow their lawn, give them a ride, etc.. Our money is not our own, it is God's!!

We will be judged on this!

Matthew 25: 31“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne.32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.33He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.34“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’37“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’40“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’41“Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’44“They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’45“He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’46“Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

Also, if you have any SCRIPTURE to share to help encourage us to help our neighbors, please share :) We must get off of the computer, get out of the house, and live the life Jesus said to live. Live the adventure!!

I have told a Christian Woman that Jesus has made such a difference in her life and that I was very proud of her and she was very happy. Thank you for this post, it helps keep us on our toes.

I'd rather keep my good deeds a secret, it may be seen by others as boasting. I'm not saying that's what OPer is doing and I do believe her intentions are good. It's just inward conviction for me not go around talking about what I do. Carry on!

Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

Hebrews 10:24
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,

It's exciting to hear how other Christians are helping their communities!!! It helps me to want to do more when I hear their wonderful stories. And if we didnt share, we might fall flat on our faces in this very important area. We might get, IDLE.

Bless you Amber, I didn't mean to offend. I just think there is a difference between talking about it and actually doing it. I just don't feel right talking about it. Matt. 6:1, "Be careful not to practice your righteousness in front of people, to be seen by them. Otherwise, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven."

I know virtually nothing about you, nor much of anybody. I'll stay reserved. Thanks... I should have not posted, sorry.

I don't do it for the praise of men :) I do it because I love doing it and I love God and love being a part of it all. I love helping people. I love encouraging my brothers and sisters to live the life they should be living.

That's awesome. But maybe next person or me would do it for praise...or maybe I'd feel inadequate in some way if I didn't do as much as you or the next person...As I said, I'm sorry for popping in here and shooting off my mouth, I've been doing that lately it seems.

As Amber said, she's not doing it for the praise of men........but me personally, I keep that verse in mind and take the same approach. I keep m mouth shut about it mostly, to protect myself from falling into that or letting pride take root in me...just as a precaution.

You probably think praying in public is always boasting too , books, sigh, sigh..... just guessing. But doesn't Jesus say 'when two or MORE pray in my name there I am with them also,' yep, the bible says just that.

No, I actually pray and thank the Lord if we go out to eat, not an overly long prayer, nor a load one to get everyone's attention. I also believe in corporate prayer in a Church setting. Boy, must we be judgmental? I know you don't care much for me cause of our discussions in the past, but lets put them in the past ok, and not ASSume anything! ;)

Peace be with you and praise the LORD JESUS CHRIST for your sharing about faith with action. In addition to work together with you, my sister on this matter, i would like to add together with yours regarding good actions one take to help others as individuals or as a united team, they might receive special thanks from the needy. And this is when by the help of the HOLY SPIRIT, one may confess that they or one, is or are, 'I am merely an unworthy servant just doing my duty'.
Furthermore the HOLY SPIRIT wants me to share the insight in the parable about the Good Samaritan. We know basically it is written due to explain, 'love your neighbor' and 'who is my neighbor', according to the Word of the LORD.

But also the HOLY SPIRIT help me to notice, 'love your enemy' in the same parable;

"An Israelite was robbed and injured by robbers. His own neighbor, his immediate kinsmen of their own generation and one religious faith and also acting as partly leaders (the Levites) of the nation, walked on the other side to pass the victim, ignoring to his immediate groan and needs. There can be a number of common carnal reasons, one religious person can judge this situation (like today's generation of faith) , may be drunk, may be possessed. may be diseased, may be chastised or may be religiously under a curse or etc. from GOD.
Even the same they concluded on the Samaritans because marrying outside their community circle to Pagan spouse, henceforth were considered outcast religiously and were chased`out according to the Law of Moses. They were then treated as deserters and traitors to the Law of Moses and the community, understandably because they were a bad influences to others who were obeying.
A Samaritan can be bitter and jealous towards all of this strictness and also the hypocrisy in the Jews (Israelites). Naturally and religiously both live apart from each other and were in enmity with each other ever since. But the religiously obedient zeal ones from the Jews were greater. Also to prove in accordance to this, the Samaritan women told JESUS about how the Jews, who worship at the Temple of Solomon and they the Samaritans worship at Mount. Sinai.
Just imagine what would actually and naturally be the reaction of a Samaritan who has just discovered his enemy in distress, remembering also how the victim's ancestors treated his without mercy?
Surprisingly this unclean Samaritan rose with compassion for the victim rather than the religiously clean ones.
The HOLY SPIRIT say that the Samaritan knowing his ancestor's mistake, was repent full in his heart towards GOD. So GOD's favor was upon him to show compassion towards his enemy putting their difference aside and decided to help. 'Help and it was an unconditional help'."
Just relate this story to our church today with diversity religiousness and divisions, sadly called 'Denominations'. The church today is the ones who need prayer and cleansing, being grieved and grieved by the HOLY SPIRIT, HIMSELF.
Today the JEWS are not the ones who are to be hated by anyone but for us to confess the truth that their living mistakes written for us to witness, are lessons and blessings for us to excel in the New Covenant teachings conformed faith with actions.
May GOD the FATHER of our LORD JESUS CHRIST bless, sister AmberGardner's, young heart to excel in humble and humility and spirit and truth. May she further in humble and humility be a lamp and salt Holy Scripturally for all women to excel in charitable deeds to the needy, as how Mother Mary and all the other Marys provided for JESUS and HIS Disciples, written in the Gospel.
"Women may desire the pulpit in the churches instead, but by HIS help, let me remind you that these duties comes with great responsibilities and accountabilities at the end. Since you are weak and even though may be gifted, won't it be wise to take the humble seat first, to get down to charitable deeds for the poor, including the Christian first and also guiding other women, young and old to come into the Word and encourage them diligently to abide.
Women need immediate attention now and weaken your focuses on men for now, for men have their own to guide. Yet we are working together and fellowshipping together in the Kingdom of GOD as equals. Be encouraged in the FATHER'S Word even, it may be correctional, because HE loves you dearly, least be discouraged."
To I AM that I AM, in CHRIST through the HOLY SPIRIT is All Dominion, All Power, All Might and All Honor forever and ever, Amen.

A new commandment I give to you...

Then He poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded. So He came to Simon Peter. He said to Him, “Lord, do You wash my feet?” Jesus answered and said to him, “What I do you do not realize now, but you will understand hereafter.” Peter said to Him, “Never shall You wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.” Simon Peter said to Him, “Lord, then wash not only my feet, but also my hands and my head.” Jesus said to him, “He who has bathed needs only to wash his feet, but is completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you.” For He knew the one who was betraying Him; for this reason He said, “Not all of you are clean.”

So when He had washed their feet, and taken His garments and reclined at the table again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you? You call Me Teacher and Lord; and you are right, for so I am. If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you. Truly, truly, I say to you, a slave is not greater than his master, nor is one who is sent greater than the one who sent him.

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.

"How have you loved your neighbor today?"

I haven't given my neighbor any love at all...

She has a very large, angry looking husband.

That's a very nice thing do, but God will expect us to help someone that we don't know, like a stranger. Like the Christmas season that's coming up. Think of some way of helping your neighbors without putting yourself endanger like cooking something like pies or cakes ( With the best ingredients) or whatever that you can think of and giving it to the homeless shelters anonymously without expecting of receiving a reward for your act of kindness. Just think as you were giving it to your family not expecting something in return, but loving the ideal that you had made them feel good.

Matthew 5:46
If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that?

Matthew 5:44
But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,

Unfortunately, nope. A lot of the neighbors here aren't friendly, we had to have a restraining order on one (stupid long story which I won't get into) and many think their crap doesn't stink. So it's pretty much impossible to try "loving" them.

You aren't going to make friends, but you are DEAD ON, and anything other than your view is Anti Christ, literally, not eschatologically.
