Why does man got to be squarely planted in between God and his WORD along with a collection basket LOL

I like the idea of studying the bible together with an open mind but not this strict man made interpretations, I feel that certain things are between you and God.

He doesn't have to be.....one doesn't even have to attend a Church in order to get close with God.

I'm seeing a trend here, of people thinking you don't have to go to 'church' to be close to God. It's true that so many churches have gone astray from the will of God, but then again one is not to forsake the assembly. I guess that would be the qualifier, what is it that makes up an assembly?

Actually, I'm going to make this it's own thread.

I'd like to start a non-denominational bible study just to read the bible together and get everyone's different opinions keeping an open mind

Why does MAN and his interpretation have to be planted squarely between God and his WORD (along with the collection basket) can't we fellowship together without forcing our interpretations down each other's throat

I'm actually a member of a Skype group....we are non denominational.....we're actually in contact with a traditional Church as well that streams their service live every sunday......and we also have a group fellowship on Monday. Pm me if you (or anyone else reading) want more information.

Someone said: Beliefs are what divide people. Doubt unites them.

In my opinion, a denomination begins when Christ ceases to be the head.

and some say ''I" am of Christ, which doesn't solve the matter either...
Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ.
(1Co 1:12)

The true attitude would be... though we are gifted differently and are at different levels of understanding, ''WE are of Christ''.
and you are proud that you knew the rest?,,,and rebuked your elder(1timothy 5;10?),,,,,would it not have been more christian to ask?

1 Timothy 5:10 Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

Proud?
I dunno, I'm clueless looking at the reference you gave.
Proud?
Rebuked? I didn't rebuke you, I shared my understanding of the passage. Did you see it as a rebuke?

Explanation: 'and I am of Christ' is part of the verse. Paul was showing how deep their schisms were going; it was all 'I' and the Corinthians missed the 'we' part of the body of Christ.

There are many churches primarily because men cannot agree on doctrine and what truly is the objective interpretation of Scripture. Also, there being many denominations is not necessarily a bad thing either (at least, not in a lot of cases), as every church that has a true living faith in Jesus Christ, are hopefully expanding the kingdom of God.
