WOW, talk about confusion,LOL, you need only read what you said."Grace and faith will save you, but not works".... "born again, meaning repenting and turning from your sin & are baptized, you will not inherit the Kingdom of God." You say grace thru faith alone saves? No way! Even you don't believe that, you say, " we must repent and and be baptized to be born again".(you said it?, Right? right. but you are, wrong!) repentance is gift of grace, Acts 11:18 "...God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life". Only after we are born again can we truly repent. and Water baptism does not save, in the absolute sense, but water bap. does save in a general sense; /water baptism is a work of faith that leads to life also, 1Pet.3:21 :...There is also an antitype which now saves us-BAPTISM (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God),.." Every child knows that, salvation is by the grace of God, thru faith and unto works. As i tell my children,"every good boy or girl who loves and obeys Jesus will go to Heaven, But every bad boy or girl who does not love and obey Jesus goes to ? you know where?,right (they say Hell) right! Hell." Being born again is a sovereign miracle of God, it is not caused by our actions at all. We are "born of God" "not of the will of the flesh nor the will of man but of God" Jh,1:13 We ,in faith, ask God to make us "born again", but the faith does not help make us "born of God", only god's power can cause life in our dead soul. In 1Jh, God tells us who "are(is) born of God" 1. 2:29 those who are righteous "is born of God" 2. 3:9 "Who ever has been born of God does not sin"(Practice sin) 3. 3:7 "everyone who loves is born of God" 4. 5:1 "Whoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God," . I ask you, do we love the brethren to become born of God? NO! do we believe in Jesus to become born of God? NO! Our faith and works of righteousness are the result of our being "born of God". AND, did you read anything about being born again by the water of baptism,in the book of 1 Jh.? NO! NOW, please, listen to GOD in Romans 6:21-22 'But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God," ( we are dead , we are passive, God sets us free) "having been set free" & "having become slaves of God" ( God made us slaves to Himself) (this is the "gift" of God, the new birth) (NOW,) "you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life." ( you will live holy and gain eternal life by your holiness) (but your faith and good works are the result of God's gift of the new birth) v.23 "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." NOW ,water baptism is one of our good works of obedience that saves us,generally speaking. Both God's actions and our actions save us. Jesus said, " enter in at the narrow gate and walk the narrow way to life." More later, Love to all, Hoffco
