1 Peter 3:18-20

New King James Version (NKJV)

Christ’s Suffering and Ours

[SUP]18 [/SUP]For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Spirit, [SUP]19 [/SUP]by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, [SUP]20 [/SUP]who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water.

All those that believed were and are saved, this is the greatness of God whom is Merciful, if we will seek God's Mercy
answer the questions?

1 Corinthians 15:50 KJV
[50] Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.

How can you be born again now when you are flesh and blood

John 3:6 KJV
[6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

How can we be born again and we are corruptible and we are grass

1 Peter 1:23-24 KJV
[23] Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. [24] For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away

We know Jesus was born from Mary and we know Jesus is the firstborn of the dead

Colossians 1:18 KJV
[18] And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.

How many birth is that?

The pastors forgot to tell there born again member that Jesus is the firstborn from the dead and the rest comes at his coming

1 Corinthians 15:22-23 KJV
[22] For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. [23] But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

This is when we are born again

Romans 8:21-23 KJV
[21] Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. [22] For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. [23] And not only they , but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit , the redemption of our body.

Out body have to become something other than flesh!

If you are saying here we are children of Yahweh because we are directly created by Yahweh, you know we are when we are born again by the Holy Spirit. Keep in mind the term "pro-created" means reproduction but with Help............
When are we born of the spirit?

Adam and Eve was not born of a woman. Adam came from dirt and Eve from Adam.

Genesis 1:27 KJV
[27] So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

The angels are created they were not born!

We are children of God if we do what he says in the flesh and I we make the resurrection

Satan has his children of the flesh

John 8:44 KJV
[44] Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Ephesians 2:2 KJV
[2] Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

We have to clarify who are the children of God!

Genesis 3:7 Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.

They after the eating from the tree were made aware of the flesh and knew they were naked. They from then on nad all those born after them were born of flesh Spirit, not god's Spirit.

Genesis 6:3 And the Lord said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”
Ezekiel 11:19 Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh,

The above is where controversy starts, a flesh heart and a stony heart. A stony heart became them to till the ground and not maintain it.
To get back a heart of original flesh is what God is saying here, and this is done by God's Spirit coming to ive in us and through us
Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
Or better put a heart of Love, not the world's type God's type, shown in 1 cor. 13:4-13
Joel 2:28 [ God’s Spirit Poured Out ] “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions.

The above has come to be after the cross, the resurrected Christ in the Spirit of God

Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

So if one is born again of the Spirit of God and all are if believe God to do this through his Son at the cross, then we are controlled and listen to God's Spirit and are doers of the word of Love through the Spirit of God

John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

When we all are first born we are born of the flesh period and when born again we are born of the Spirit of God that Adam and Eve lost. Christ is the second Adam and a life-giving Spirit. See that giving its free from God, if one will believe God
Love you GOI
This post is not making sense to me,

Which spirit are you talking about!

Jesus is a spirit
GOD is a spirit
The angels are spirits
God's word is spirit

Adam had a natural body (flesh) a earthly body
What are you talking about.

1 Corinthians 15:45-46 KJV
[45] And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. [46] Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual.

Mental or physical? It is spiritual, as we that have recieved the "free gift of God" (His "holy Spirit"), are "born again". The mind and body, (mental and physical) are also transformed by this but it is of a spiritual nature. This is what Peter means when he says "being "born again" of a incorruptible seed". All men who have been anointed with the holy Spirit will live forever and be with Christ when he redeems us, but those who have went to sleep (the world says died, "for all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:"), with this anointing of the holy Spirit, will live again. Praise be to God our Father and Yahoshua (Jesus) Christ forever for this friend!

In 1Peter1-25, Peter is addressing the "Elect" of God who have received the promise of the holy Spirit "the Comforter" mentioned here by Yahoshua (Jesus) Christ;
1 John 14:
16And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; 17Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

18I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 19Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. 20At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. 21He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. 22Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? 23Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 24He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.

And Yahoshua (Jesus) Christ teaches us about being "born again" (mentioned in 1 Peter1:23) and receiving the "Comforter" or holy Spirit here with Nicodemus,:

John 3:
1There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: 2The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. 3Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

4Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? 5Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 8The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.

9Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? 10Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? 11Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. 12If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? 13And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. 14And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: 15That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Now look at 1Peter 1 again now:
1Peter1:peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, [SUP]2 [/SUP]Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

[SUP]3 [/SUP]Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

[SUP]4 [/SUP]To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

[SUP]5 [/SUP]Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

[SUP]6 [/SUP]Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:
[SUP]7 [/SUP]That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

[SUP]8 [/SUP]Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

[SUP]9 [/SUP]Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

[SUP]10 [/SUP]Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

[SUP]11 [/SUP]Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

[SUP]12 [/SUP]Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

[SUP]13 [/SUP]Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
[SUP]14 [/SUP]As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

[SUP]15 [/SUP]But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;
[SUP]16 [/SUP]Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.
[SUP]17 [/SUP]And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:
[SUP]18 [/SUP]Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

[SUP]19 [/SUP]But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
[SUP]20 [/SUP]Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

[SUP]21 [/SUP]Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
[SUP]22 [/SUP]Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

[SUP]23 [/SUP]Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

[SUP]24 [/SUP]For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:
[SUP]25 [/SUP]But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

hopefully it makes a lot more since to you now: GOI :)

Again Paul speaks of the dead being born.

1 Corinthians 15:47-49 KJV
[47] The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven. [48] As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. [49] And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

We are born earthy by our parents
We will be born in the image of the heavenly

We do not have the image of the heavenly now!!!

As per Yeshua, a man must be born of the water and of the spirit. Also, He informed Nicodemus he must be born again.

Because of this the term, born again is employed by those who have received the Holy Spirit, much like many will use the term, Trinity, in describing our Maker. These are nothing more than concepts being expressed through verbalization.

Those who have received the Spirit have received a down payment on eternal life...

2Co 1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

Notice what the word earnest here really means...

G728
ἀῤῥαβών
arrhabōn
ar-hrab-ohn'
Of Hebrew origin [H6162]; a pledge, that is, part of the purchase money or property given in advance as security for the rest: - earnest.

Something given in advance as security for the rest. Not completion, but a down payment.

2Co 5:5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

Eph 1:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

This verse makes it plain that it is a down payment until the redemption. It has not happened yet, it looks forward to the future.

In each case above, the word used for earnest is G728 and is a pledge until the fulfillment. We are born from the dead by a resurrection at the return of Christ...

1Co 15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

1Co 15:50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
1Co 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

New King James Version (NKJV)

1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, [SUP]2 [/SUP]in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, [SUP]3 [/SUP]among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.

[SUP]4 [/SUP]But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, [SUP]5 [/SUP]even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), [SUP]6 [/SUP]and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, [SUP]7 [/SUP]that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

To be born again you must first die to sin. I can see how you could call that the resurrection of the spirit but we still await the resurrection of our bodies because before the seed (of our born again spirits) are given NEW bodies our old ones must first die.

so how many resurrections are spoken of in the Bible?

those raised from the dead:

2 kings 4: 18 - 37

John 11: 1-44

Those given new bodies:

Matthew 27: 50-53

Those who have been born again:

Acts 2: 1-4

Acts 10: 34-48

[SUP]34 [/SUP]Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. [SUP]35 [/SUP]But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. [SUP]36 [/SUP]The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ—He is Lord of all— [SUP]37 [/SUP]that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached: [SUP]38 [/SUP]how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. [SUP]39 [/SUP]And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they[SUP][e][/SUP] killed by hanging on a tree. [SUP]40 [/SUP]Him God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly, [SUP]41 [/SUP]not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead. [SUP]42 [/SUP]And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead. [SUP]43 [/SUP]To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins.”

[SUP]44 [/SUP]While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who heard the word. [SUP]45 [/SUP]And those of the circumcision who believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also. [SUP]46 [/SUP]For they heard them speak with tongues and magnify God.
Then Peter answered, [SUP]47 [/SUP]“Can anyone forbid water, that these should not be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we have?” [SUP]48 [/SUP]And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days.

No actually you are confusing!

Born again is a physical change

We are born once from our mother
We will be born again at the resurrections
:( I"m sorry you don't seem to be listening.

Before someone can be "born again" or resurrected something has to DIE.

IN this world to be born again, the spirit of this world Dies or leaves you and God's Holy Spirit abides in you instead.

To be born again you are washed clean of your sins by the blood of Christ and raised up in life by following His Holy Spirit.

What most people refer to as the "born again" experience is SPIRITUAL. On the other hand what is referred to as Resurrection is PHYSICAL.

OUR PHYSICAL bodies must first DIE before you can be resurrected.

1 Corinthians 15 speaks of resurrection of the BODY not just the spirit.

"[SUP]36 [/SUP]Foolish one, what you sow is not made alive unless it dies. [SUP]37 [/SUP]And what you sow, you do not sow that body that shall be, but mere grain—perhaps wheat or some other grain. [SUP]38 [/SUP]But God gives it a body as He pleases, and to each seed its own body."

IN this verse "seed" refers to our born again spirits.

Our spirits are NOT replaced by the Holy Spirit but we are guided by the Holy Spirit who witness to the fact that we have been born again and adopted into God's family:

[h=3]Romans 8:14-16[/h]
[SUP]14 [/SUP]For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. [SUP]15 [/SUP]For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.” [SUP]16 [/SUP]The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

How can you be born again now when you are flesh and blood
Have you studied how seeds work?

For example you have this garden bean seed:

Our bodies are like those brown outer shells that will eventually be disappear and DIE but the true essence of the seed will live on and grow into a fruit bearing plant. Our souls and spirits will live on.

There is a difference between spirit and soul otherwise how could they be divided?

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

when we are born again the Word of God divides our soul from the spirit of this world and joins it to the Holy Spirit. He cleanses of our old sins.

John 3:6 KJV
[6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

We are born of the flesh so we are flesh
we are not born of the spirit so we are not spirit

When do we become spirit?

At the resurrection
At the same resurrection of Christ by God's operation, if you might reckon yourself dead to sin by the death of Christ for you, this being your death, and if you die to self with Christ you might see the new life. or do not you realize or see this:
[h=3]Romans 6[/h]Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV)

6 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? [SUP]2 [/SUP]God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? [SUP]3 [/SUP]Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? [SUP]4 [/SUP]Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. [SUP]5 [/SUP]For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: [SUP]6 [/SUP]knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. [SUP]7 [/SUP]For he that is dead is freed from sin. [SUP]8 [/SUP]Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: [SUP]9 [/SUP]knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. [SUP]10 [/SUP]For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. [SUP]11 [/SUP]Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

How is the dead raised

1 Corinthians 15:35 KJV
[35] But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come?

This is how we go from flesh to spirit

1 Corinthians 15:38-39,42,44 KJV
[38] But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, and to every seed his own body. [39] All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds. [42] So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: [44] It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

At the resurrection
So, Christ does not give life here and now through his resurrection?
