I think it is something I need to start. It is considered to be the most literal so let's do it, who is with me? Oh but I love the NIV and the esv. I even love that real outdated one the Kjv. What about a Geneva I can't leave it out. So I guess I will start a Kjv, nkjv, nasb, NIV , NLT , net, hcsb, esv , only ( unless another cool one comes out) group.

Revelation 13:1

1And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. (King James Bible)

1The dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name. (NIV)

1And the dragon stood on the sand of the seashore. Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were blasphemous names. (NASB)

I love the NASB, and the NIV. I believe the king jimmy to be more accurate than the NIV but I believe the nasb to be more accurate than king jimmy. I love king jimmy but I like to read newer versions because of the thee and thou business.

Name a translation that is inspired. None are. The original was inspired then came the copies then came translation. We have translations of copies of an inspired text.

Jason, first off, what is the king jimmy? I don't know of a king jimmy.

Now I do know of the King James Holy Bible.

Therefore Jason, show some respect for the word of God.

By the way, the thee's and thou's are more accurate. Brandplucked wrote a good article on the issue of the thee's and the ye's. You can check it out by clicking on the link below:

So, basically, God is not capable of assuring that His Word is not properly translated to suit Him? Now, there may be debate as to which we fell more comfortable reading, but passing Judgment on those who undertook the difficult task of translating ancient texts without even knowing their relationship with God is a bit of a risk in my opinion........

Way I see it is, the Holy Spirit is quite capable of "inspiring" whomever He wishes to do whatever He wishes........and I don't believe any of us are qualified to question Him........but, that may just be me.

LET US FIX OUR EYES ON JESUS, and obey His commandments to us.........LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!

Haha. Names for James are Jim, jimmy so what is disrespectful? It is a translation of the bible. The bible is what I have respect for. I picked up on the king jimmy stuff from the pastor that led me to The Lord. He is a great man of God. He uses a NIV. If you are offended by me saying king jimmy I apologize.

ChosenByHim, you're the one who wrote that the Bible is an "abomination" and that burning Bibles is "justifiable".

But the burning of those NIVs is justifiable. The NIV is an abomination.

Hold on , I never questioned the translators relationship with God. I am sure that the Holy Spirit did help the translators. Much in the same way he helps us write sermons. Sermons are not inspired text, they are explanations of an inspired text.

Ok, but that's what it sounded like you were saying when you stated: "Name a translation that is inspired. None are." To me it is quite possible that those translators who labored to give us a certain Translation could certainly have been "inspired" by the Holy Spirit to complete their task............and, in my opinion, that makes the Translation "inspired" by the Holy Spirit.

(edited to add)

Sermons may not be "inspired texts," but they surely are "inspired teachings," and what is "inspired" by the Holy Spirit is every bit OF GOD!

ChosenByHim, you're the one who wrote that the Bible is an "abomination" and that burning Bibles is "justifiable".

Praus, the NIV is not a real Bible. It is a bible perversion. The NIV is a Satanic counterfeit. It turns the Lord Jesus Christ into Lucifer in Isaiah 14:12.

And it turns John the Apostle John into the Dragon in Revelation 13:1.

Now let me illustrate. By first showing you the correct rendering of Each verse, which is in the King James Authorized Version.

And then I will show you the corrupt and bad rendering which is found in the New International Version.

Isaiah 14:12

Isaiah 14:12

King James Version (KJV)

12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

Isaiah 14:12

New International Version (NIV)

12 How you have fallen from heaven,
morning star, son of the dawn!
You have been cast down to the earth,
you who once laid low the nations!

If you read Revelation 22:16, then you know that Jesus Christ is the morning star.

Revelation 13:1

Revelation 13

King James Version (KJV)

13 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

Revelation 13:1

New International Version (NIV)

13 The dragon stood on the shore of the sea. And I saw a beast coming out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on its horns, and on each head a blasphemous name.
