Why ARE WE NOT HEARING THIS ANYMORE ?

MATTHEW10

5
These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:

6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.
8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Raise the dead = Win souls, is far better than actually raising a dead person from his casket.

Yes, but it also doesn't mean we (believers) can't actually raise a dead person...
I'm a witness

Reading scripture can be misleading. It could mean raising the spiritually dead. (Lacking understanding.).

True, but it's still far better. Lol. I didn't need to see a man come to life to know who Jesus was. I think signs are used for the appropriate time.

Peter raises a female disciple named Tabitha from the dead

Acts 9:36-42 (KJV)
36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.

39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up
, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

Paul raises Eutychus from the dead

Acts 20:9-12 (KJV)
9 And there sat in a window a certain young man named Eutychus, being fallen into a deep sleep: and as Paul was long preaching, he sunk down with sleep, and fell down from the third loft, and was taken up dead.
10 And Paul went down, and fell on him, and embracing him said, Trouble not yourselves; for his life is in him.
11 When he therefore was come up again, and had broken bread, and eaten, and talked a long while, even till break of day, so he departed.
12 And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.

Yes they are. But people today don't need signs to believe in Jesus. I rather speak 5 words with my mind that would help instruct people in the truth, than speak a thousand words in a unknown tongue.

What purpose would be served if someone raised the dead?

For the cause of Christ

4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

5 But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? Is God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)

6 God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?

7 For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?

8 And not rather, (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say,) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.

9 What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;

10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

I don't mean to sound awkward. But even if a man raised the dead... That doesn't automatically prove god exists.

If i witnessed a man bringing people back to life, I would think he was some kind of magic man lol. I certainly wouldn't automatically assume it was gods doing.

Because you believe in god then your first reaction would Be to credit god for it. Nothing wrong with that of course. Just pointing out the differences on how we would percieve the situation.

That's your area of expertise, not mine. The devil doesn't exist as far as I'm concerned.

By the way it says the disciples had heard that Peter was there,...Disciple= follower of Jesus, why didn't one of or all of the disciples raise her from the dead, why did they have to have Peter do it? Because He was a true Apostle of Christ. That's the differance between a true Apostle and fake ones today. And that's why people aren't raised today from the dead because it was for that time only and that Power from the HS was given to them only.
