Is there any Bible verse that made you change completely in such a way that you were never the same. Is there any Bible verse that still convicts you till this day? Is there any Bible verse that is still echoing your heart everytime you read it?.

Long ago, one marriage in Christ wanted to serve the Lord and they were excited. They ran to the pastor and told Him:

-Pastor we want to serve-
-Ok. But do you have any biblical degree or diploma?
-Well, no. Not really. But we read the Bible every day-
-No. You don´t understand. We need a certification that makes you are elegible to serve the Lord-
-But we have the Holy Spirit in us. We can serve-
-Not in positions of teaching and pastoring. You need to have a certificate-

That afternoon, husband and wife went to their house very sad. The husband wept to the LORD saying: "God. I don't understand. My wife and I want to serve you and we can't. Is there anything wrong? You did not tell me that I must have a certificate. We do not have enough money to start one. I don't understand.

Next day, they were walking to the church when they saw the people. Many of them were sad and not attended. His wife said: "Darling, there should be someone at the door welcoming them. I think we can do that. We don't need a degree for that. I think the pastor will agree"

The husband listened and they went to the pastor after the service finished and told him what they could do.

-It's not necessary. It's not even a ministry-
-But they need to feel welcomed. They need a helping hand-
-Ok. Ok. Go and do it. If it's not affecting the service it's ok-

They were excited and started serving the Lord by standing at the entrance doors. People were attended with such love and compassion that many of them decided to come back. But they felt no one was rewarding their efforts and both of them felt they meant nothing at their congregation. They came back home sad again until God put them one verse in their hearts. When they opened the Bible in Hebrews chapter 6 verse 10, they worshipped God that night with joy. The verse said the following:

God is not unjust; He will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.
Hebrews 6:10.

That verse will be stamped in my mind always. God will not forget every tiny thing you do for Him. The brothers that sweep the floor, clean the chairs and serve water ow for sure that there is a God who will reward their effort because He will never forget the beautiful things you do for Him.

Feel free to write and I'm pretty sure I will learn a lot from you. That is the purpose of this thread. To learn from your perspectives of each verse God put within you.

From Venezuela, my native country, with joy.

John 6:18-20

The sea became rough because a strong wind was blowing. When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were frightened. But he said to them, “It is I; do not be afraid.”

"It is I, do not be afraid" those words send shivers down my spine. There's such power in those words. Such security and rest in that affirmation of Jesus.

Thank you Zone for sharing that treasure here.
God Bless you always.

The I AM'S of the fourth Gospel...especially like the 5th...but they all minister to the soul.

1. John 6:35: Jesus said to them, "I am the bread of life. The one who comes to me will never go hungry, and the one who believes in me will never be thirsty.

2. John 8:12: Then Jesus spoke out again, "I am the light of the world. The one who follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

3. John 10:9: I am the door. If anyone enters through me, he will be saved, and will come in and go out, and find pasture.

4. John 10:11: "I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.

5. John 11:25: Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live even if he dies,

6. John 14:6: Jesus replied, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

7. John 15:5: "I am the vine; you are the branches. The one twho remains in me - and I in him - bears much fruit, because apart from me you can accomplish nothing.

[h=3]John 3:16-21[/h]King James Version (KJV)
[SUP]16 [/SUP]For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

My grandmother spent many hours sharing the gospel with me when I was too young to read. This is my favorite verse.

Wonderful thread! Thank you for sharing and the opportunity.

I came before the Lord in my heart one day. I was recently saved and leaving my religion, coming out of a deep despairing, still dealing with a lot of issues, but I had peace with God. Anyway, I expressed my thoughts, desire, weakness, etc and I asked God to help me, specifically to help me understand my heart and what He knows to be true. As I progressed in my day to day, continued in my bible studying, waiting, waiting weeks, months, coming out of these horrible trains of thought & doctrines. Seeing the idolatry of my religion, my self idolatry in my religion, hard, pretty intense. That wasn't even what brought me before the Lord, it was just part of my current circumstance as I was waiting on God.

Finally, over summer one afternoon, this verse;

Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

I came to understand by this verse, I above all things, even myself, I desired God in the deep places of my heart. I was given great joy that day. I love that verse! I believe in freewill, I know it is true. My old church rejected the doctrine of freewill. Another Verse during that year, closer to Autumn, in Genesis, just caused me to sit still in consideration, it still comes into my mind, it captures me, I am interested, I ponder it. Even just recently on my vacation I had it come forward, it's about the integrity, he said I know thou didst this in the integrity of thine heart. Just rocks me, we can all choose to retain God in the knowledge of our heart, if we are honest within that place of integrity, because God knows and He is good. People always want to paint the human heart and condition as "desperately wicked", devalue us as worthes, undeserving, but God highly values every person. God is Love, extremely patient, kind & gentle.

The verse was Gn 20:6 kjv. I was part of this amateur writing group for a few months around that time, short stories & poems. I wrote this one night, it woke me, I was reciting it in a dream or something and I woke, barely made myself reach for scratch paper, smiling so lazy haha, I hate waking up in the middle of the night! So enjoy, it's my little poem to God. Good night for me.

The Deep Things

Beneath pleasure,
under desire

Within the thoughts
of my heart

Where darkness is
brought into the light
from the unknown

I love you.

John 6

37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39 This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day.

There r so many! Yet th one that has touchéd me for this season is Lk 1:28-37. Mary was troubled, she was confused on how her being a virgin could hav a child. Yet th angel Gabriel responds 2 her reaction with just look what God did for old childless Elizabeth and the words," For with God nothing is impossible!" So awesome :)

Hello! I had another come from my heart to my mind this morning. What a sweet topic this thread is and a great spirit to it. So, when I was about 27/28 yrs old, I wanted to know abiut this Jesus. I wanted to understand who He was, because I loved God. I believed in God, but I did not know Him, or anything about His Son. I had an experience in my home, that caused me to make this choice, the decision to buy my first bible. I went in a few days down to my favorite thrift store, it was Christian, supporting at risk teens, it was called "Teen Challenge", mind you I was not a Christian, well, you know, I was a believer in God, but I did not consider myself a Christian or even have a desire to be one, really. Weird, but true. I was in that store, they had a couple big bookshelves full of bibles, all sorts of colors, sizes, textures... I'm a bit obsessive. As I was pulling some bending, flipping through, engulfing my senses as I proceed in the selection process, which had no preconceived intent as to translation or any of that mindset. All of the sudden, I felt a little overwhelmed, there I saw a little one, stone blue color. I pulled it out, it felt nice, good size, bendy, leather cover, fit good in my hand, smelled kind of good to, haha. I bought it, $3. I love that little bible, I spent over three years reading it at home on my own. I came to love Jesus, He was so wonderful to get to know. Then I decided I wanted to be around & know Christians, I looked for a church and then all hell broke loose, so to speak. Anyway, this verse has always held a truth for me and I love me some Jesus truth!

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

Now adays, I hold myself to that measure, the measure being Christ. The Scriptures instruct us to work out our own salvation, not work on it, or for it, but poccess it with assurance, knowing, understanding. The Bible says, examine yourself, study to be quiet and work with your own hands, study to show thyself approved, opposite of approved is unapproved reprobate, if you have never done the word study. A saved person can have issues of bad thoughts, that's why we need to do Acts 17:11 & Rms 12:2 kjv, oh and with that King James Bible, that was the version of that little stone blue bible. Lean not on your own understanding, God says. There is a standard to the measure, we must daily becaful to keep ourselves out of that possition bt the renewing of our minds, as saved persons of course, we must be saved by believing the gospel of our salvation, to properly possess our vessel.

God promises every word of his we speak will do its appointed work.

Isa 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
Isa 55:12 For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
Isa 55:13 Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
Isa 56:1 Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed.
Isa 56:2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

LovePink: Thanks again. That verse holds a great truth. And actually you can see in that verse that our Lord Jesus was serious when He said those words. About that little blue bible: sometimes God surprises us with little things.
2thewaters: Brother in Christ, thanks for your reply. Every word you wrote here shall not return to God void. Not at all. I hope your reply will bless other people because definitely you are sowing. Thanks for your insight. God Bless you.

I grew up in the Methodist church and blindly soaked up there false teachings. One day someone showed me this...

2Ki 16:1 In the seventeenth year of Pekah the son of Remaliah Ahaz the son of Jotham king of Judah began to reign.
2Ki 16:2 Twenty years old was Ahaz when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem, and did not that which was right in the sight of the LORD his God, like David his father.
2Ki 16:3 But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, yea, and made his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel.
2Ki 16:4 And he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.
2Ki 16:5 Then Rezin king of Syria and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to war: and they besieged Ahaz, but could not overcome him.
2Ki 16:6 At that time Rezin king of Syria recovered Elath to Syria, and drave the Jews from Elath: and the Syrians came to Elath, and dwelt there unto this day.

What? In this passage Israel is at war with the Jews. I was always told that all Israelites were Jews. This was contrary to the teaching I received in the Methodist church.

This convinced me to begin to actually read the Bible for myself. The next thing I discovered is that heaven is NOT the reward of the saved. I was always told that the saved went to heaven but the scripture says the reward of the saved is on the earth.

This was the beginning of enlightenment for me.

[h=1]John
14[/h]
1 .) Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 .) In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 .) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
4 .) And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.
5 .) Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way?
6 .) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
7 .) If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
8 .) Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 .) Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?
10 .) Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
11 .) Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.

[I used to love this passage of Scripture, but then I joined CC and found out Jesus was lying to us.....well, according to some here......sigh........dunno....]

p_rehbein: totally true. Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Those words are impacting and very deep. Really deep. It reveals with no hesitation that the Creator, the Allmighty God was sitting in front of Phillip. Now, we have Him inside of us. What a miracle!
