Why as a believer I do not celebrate Christmas or Easter With the Rest of the World

Hey if your mad about Jesus, Love the Bible and telling others about the Bible then how about the following.
1. Surrender to Jesus your life.
2. Study the bible and the PRINCIPLES OF TRUTH FOUND THEREIN
3. MAKE A STAND ON THE PRINCIPLES THAT ARE GIVEN
4. TEACH THE PRINCIPLES OF TRUTH TO THOSE WHO ARE IN DARKNESS UNTIL NOW

Just saying that is...;)

Awesome hahah I was two and my brother who preaches and pastors as well was born that year. The following year my dad was killed in the Kerr McGee Yellow cake mines in New Mexico. Thank God for being a Father to the Fatherless.

I was 19, so I had 18 years of it. About the time I began to really understand what the Methodist church stood for, I left and never looked back.

Amen Brother..I had a real nice guy who was lost and wicked that I worked with and him and his family as well as all the other workers I worked with gave me three kinds of hell about witnessing to them and the guys argument against every scripture I gave him was..Well My Grand-Daddy and my DADDY were Methodist and if it was good enough for them it is good enough for me. It is not about being a Methodist, Catholic, Baptist or any other named religion..it is about Jesus, the Word of God, and what you do with the truth that permeates the Bible. Many will come to me in that day saying, Lord, Lord have we not done....
Key words HAVE WE NOT DONE...WOW what an eye opener!

I don't celebrate it either since I learned it's origins. People get offended when I don't accept gifts sometimes but hey, I don't want anything to do with it. It's been 2 years since I stopped, this makes 3. I don't care what anyone else does regarding it though. Most people either don't know, don't care, or don't want to know. People tend to esteem it too highly to ever change their mind about it, regardless of what information is presented. It's a topic I tend to leave alone but much respect for trying brother. God Bless

Amen and I agree with everything you have said, nor do I condemn any who practice. Seems like most who read the post are blind to the fact that the original post stated that, and the title states that THIS IS WHY I DON'T. Having said that, if a person could just simply post what they believe with out being raked over the coals, belittled, mouthed and argued with over sentiment and tradition while being told not to voice your view because we don't agree with you tends to make me more adamant and willing to witness of the things that I stand on. ;)

I must answer all serious questions that are given, if any, and encourage those who will make a stand based upon principles taught in the bible. FOR THE SECOND OR THIRD TIME FOR ALL>>LISTEN AND PUT ON YOUR GLASSES AND READ IF YOU NEED THEM :) The birth of Jesus is sanctified, holy, righteous, good, biblical, to be taught in the churches, witnessed of in the world.....HOWEVER THE ONLY THING I DISAGREE WITH IS the modern, money making scheme, greed breeding HOLIDAY that has it's roots in PAGANISM AND HERETICAL TEACHINGS AND PRACTICES! I don't care if you practice Christmas, Easter, or give the dog a bone day..your business, your right, your choice, God judges all, we all we stand before God and answer for what we have done individually. :) I don't condemn you for what you do, neither should you condemn me because I make a stand based upon my convictions mi amigos

The last statement that you made about God taking care of His people is awesome and true. I have friends who pastor churches in about 20 states and 10 different countries and it is amazing how many circumstances and stories similar to the two you listed above. Death, ruined lives, car wrecks, diseases etc. If the Lord be for us, who can be against us? Amen and Praise Jesus and the Heavenly Father for their protection, mercy and grace and for the chastisement when I needed tuned up! ;)

I celebrate Christmas, but without all the decoration. I celebrate the fact that Jesus came here to earth as a mere baby. He lived, taught and died for all of us that we might be saved. My celebration of Christmas includes it all because if He hadn't come here we would all be lost: If He hadn't taught, we would know nothing: If He hadn't died for us there would be no salvation. Keeping Christ in Christmas can be such a light for others to see.

Awesome for you Beanie as that is your choice. I neither condemn you nor judge what you do. As my post states...I just choose to not practice based upon my own conscience, my friend in Christ. Blessed is the man/woman who delights in the Law of the Lord...:)

I would also like to add that Christ was not in Christmas until He was inserted by the R.C.C.
Just saying....;)

Thanks I appreciate your stand..I shouldn't be surprised when religions and people of the religions that have come from the R.C.C. accept and swallow R.C.C. dogma.

Name calling is not very religious nor biblical ZONE..why can you have the right to express what you believe and those who disagree with you get belittled, mouthed and rude comments and name calling? Serious!
