masturbation is unclean in the sight of God.It may take some time to stop doing it, but all you need is trust God to help you and look for a spiritual matured person in your local church and try to discuss the issue with him/her

I find it funny how people always hark on about how it's not mentioned in the Bible. Just because it's not mentioned by name doesn't mean we can't categorize it as a sin by what the Bible says.

It is not just a sin because generally you're watching porn or lusting during.

IT IS A SIN because you cannot serve two masters. Do you serve your flesh/self or God? You cannot serve both. Serve God or Ammon.

You forget you are not your own, YOU ARE BOUGHT WITH A PRICE.

Do you think if Jesus walked through your door right now and caught you he would have a problem with it? If so then STOP.

Now I know how some people's logic works, they'll say "I prayed about it and received no help with the temptation.".
Well in Ezekiel it makes it clear God will tell you what you want to hear if you have an idol in your life so you better make sure you're a righteous man in the eyes of God.

I am not surprised about the amount of people on this website who have this problem seeing as most of them don't even understand salvation and believe they were saved the day they were born.

See, I think you were saying some great things up until this point. This part makes you sound unwillingly to understand that many really struggle with this sin, thinking that they don't want to change. Also, that you seem to know an awful lot about many of the CC members, even though you have, what... 3 posts? Thank goodness you're above such things.

How can masterbation be sinful? It's not that bad a thing and it's a natural thing that most people do so y would it make us end up in hell? -confused-

Since when is natural a valid argument? We live in a sinful fallen world, and the sin was so powerful it affected the entire world around us. Corrupting nature itself.
And everyone does it? Since when do Christians determine the right and wrong of an action by what 'everyone else' is doing?
Masturbation revolves around lust and self satisfaction.
It quite often leads to addiction.
It can cause depression in excess.
It is a way to simulate sex. Something intended only within marriage.

Other than 'everybody does it' (and by everybody that would be based largely at non-Christians) and it's 'natural' (which something being natural doesn't make it good) what are you basing your 'its not a bad thing' statement on? What evidence do you have that refutes the points i just made?

Tbh I'm not sure what's right or wrong on this topic but I've just always thought it's ok to do. I do live in quite a non-christian area and if I didn't watch porn or masterbate and other such things I would most likely have all the other guys saying stuff to me. Also, in Jesus' time they had hookers and Jesus was friends with and helped prostitutes so clearly the men back then we're doing similar things. (I don't know what Jesus said or thought about it and my history's not that good..I'm just trying to explain the way I'm thinking.)

Just because people do things doesn't make those things right. Cain killed his brother, Abel near the beginning of creation, and people have been killing each other before there were prostitutes. But does that make killing ok?
Jesus helped people to pull them out of their sins. The bible speaks clearly against lust, against sex before marriage, against prostitution, and would obviously speak against porn since that ties in.
Also, as Christians, part of our faith is persecution for standing up for our ideals. If you get mocked for not sinning, good. I mean, yes, it sucks to have to endure it, but it shows a strength of character that is more valuable in life than the ability to do what other people say you should.
I think i just say that you are from an un-Christian household. So it seems you are not reading or being taught the bible. Being a Christian is not just saying prayers here and there and believing in God. It is also about having a desire to conform our thoughts, beliefs and life to the standards and will of God. It sounds as though you need some help understanding what those are. If you aren't capable of purchasing a bible, or maybe not allowed to keep on in your house, then there are plenty online you can read from. I suggest the New Living Translation (or NLT). Its very easy to read. (Keep note that the New Living Translation is different from The Living Bible. I suggest avoiding the Living Bible).
While i'm no trained scholar or expert, if you have any questions feel free to create your own threads to ask them. Or message me and i'll do my best to answer.

Christ is the only way to heaven :)

Would you do this infront of Jesus?

Jesus is beside you always never do anything you wouldn't do with him there because he is there

What everyone does or doesn't do has nothing to do with right or wrong
a Psychologist could make an arguement why secularly it is bad to do this

It is sin because it leads to lust and it is self serving only
God is not pleased by either

Don't follow people do your own thing :)

Me personally I only do things that Jesus wants me to do :) things like care about everyone

Im really confused :| I definatly wouldnt masturbate in front of Jesus but I wouldnt really be comfortable having a shower in front of Jesus either. And I wouldnt really wanna have sex in front of Him but sex is ok to do (within marriage). Or does He want me not to have sex or anything? How do I no if I should or shouldnt do something when I don't know if the way I feel about it is right or wrong?

Awesome questions

Jesus loves you when you shower he is there but it's okay

Yeah sex is for marriage and it's okay in marriage but I don't know how to explain that cause I don't concern myself with it :) I won't be married anytime soon so I'm not worried

Lets start with Christ's commandment
in the book of John, Jesus says to live everyone like he loves us
that means to love everyone so much you would die to save their life
when we accept Christ he gives us the ability to do this
he loves us and later takes us to his Father's mansion

When you can read the book of John from the new testament
it is clear and easy to read :)

The order of the first four are Matthew Mark Luke and John
if you haven't read them I say start with John then after it makes sense go back to the other three

Jesus can be understood from his words in John find a Bible where Christ's words are in red :) it makes it easier

So we first love everyone in doing this we love ourselves and God
since we love ourselves we don't do things that make us feel shameful
you would tell your grandmother you shower but wouldn't tell her you just masturbated
so that's shame
as you grow in love you will be happy doing innocent things that are free of sin
soon you won't recognize the things you used to think or care about (the sinful ones)

Christianity isn't about keeping a bunch of impossible rules
it is simply about loving Christ and following him
the love will come easy in time

If you need help I'm here for you :) no judgement cause only Jesus can judge us :) just here to share and be a friend :D

when you first read Christ words the ones in red :) you may have tons of questions
dont stress take it easy

A book that can help is The Life Book you can get one at thelifebook.com they used tobe free may not be anymore I don't know

Just listen to the small voice in you that is positive when you read Christ's words
that voice is The Holy Spirit it's God and a gift from Jesus
I don't want to confuse you

First it's all about love :) not sinning will come naturally when you learn the love Christ teaches

Check what the bible has to say.

Ya gotta read the manual man!

Ephesians 5

5 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;
[SUP]2 [/SUP]And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

[SUP]3 [/SUP]But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;
[SUP]4 [/SUP]Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

I can say it's possible to avoid masturbation wholesale.

Masturbation is a stronghold, it is hard to get rid of, don't you feel guilty when you do it...empty? It causes more sexual urges to appear. I've been through, and only through God was I able to overcome because it is strong. IT causes urges that eventually get stronger. It only left me guilty, disgusted, and far away form God? Does masturbation serve God in anyway or did that serve you...your flesh. Sex, in marriage, is as God created and therefore,in marriage, pleasing to God.

Now, If you want to stop, it is a very difficult process let me tell you however with God all is possible. I would suggest Repenting, and asking God to give you self-control over your flesh and desires, also read your word and pray. The closer you get to God, the less you your flesh will control you. I would also keep away from what triggers your sexual desires. May God be with you!

[h=3]1 Corinthians 6:18
Flee from sexual immorality. Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the sexually immoral person sins against his own body.[/h]

[h=3]1 Thessalonians 4:3-5
For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you abstain from sexual immorality; that each one of you know how to control his own body in holiness and honor, not in the passion of lust like the Gentiles who do not know God;[/h]
Mastrubation is a sin that leads one toward a path of darkness and loneliness. We should not treat our bodies as instruments of immorality. We should honor God with our bodies and be self-controlled.

When I do it I just feel good and better. I dont get y God doesnt want us to masturbate. It doesnt really hav much of a effect. And compared to other sins it isnt really that important.
