And I apologise there are better ways I could have my point. I am sorry.
It's OK.

It seems that the person I got the "one of three" rape statistics from is the
very same person who's supporting you in this thread.

It's becoming clear that something wicked this way comes (onto me!)
:(

1 Tim 4:1-2 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

James 3:17 But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, [and] easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.

A faithful Rachel 20 heard the warning and decided to stay, ...
Brilliant use of a modern-day parable!
1 out of 3 makes it an incredibly likely statistic.

Wow. Thank you for trying to show why we need firearms.

Writing my death in a "modern day parable" should definitely prove how extremely wonderful Christian people need to carry guns.

I will continue to repeat what I said, my trust and protection is in the Lord. If you must mock that and my faith in God by writing about my death than go ahead.

May God judge between us.
I am sorry you are incapable of understanding the point of the post. I place my trust in God also, but unike you I am not afraid to use the tools God gives us. Sad very sad! As you are led friend as you are led!

Well you have to resort to writing about my death to put a point across.

I am obviously not as clever as you to resort to such tools of cursing.

Proverbs 26:2

Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest.

James 1:26

If any man among you seem to be religious and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.

Mine too. The difference between us is that I'm responsible in how I go about it. Guns, knives, and weapons are tools as fire extinguishers, safety equipment, and many other types and classes of tools.

If I was as irresponsible as you, I'd take all the smoke detectors out of my house along with the fire extinguishers and cancel my alarm service. I'd remove every safety feature from every piece of equipment I own including the guard off my chainsaw. I'd toss the seatbelt and air bags from my vehicles. Etc...

Because to keep those, in your misinformed view, means that I'm not trusting God.

But what it really means is that I'm both trusting God and I'm living my life responsibly. I know that personal self-defense is legitimatized in Scripture just as the use of safety devices, construction tools, cooking tools, transportation tools, etc... are legitimized by Scripture.

I trust that He will help me draw my weapon and use it appropriately in my time of need. As Jesus pointed out in Luke 11:21 "When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are safe."
Solomon recorded in Proverbs 25:26, "Like a muddied spring or a polluted fountain is a righteous man who gives way before the wicked."

Nehemiah understood it and gave responsible instructions in 4:17-18 , "Those who carried burdens were loaded in such a way that each labored on the work with one hand and held his weapon with the other. And each of the builders had his sword strapped at his side while he built."

Etc... etc... etc... so forth and so on.

Trusting in God is not an excuse for acting irresponsibly and recklessly with your life and the lives of others which leads to unnecessary suffering, disability, and death as I hear you advocating.

And if despite trusting God and acting responsibly I am martyred, die in an accident, or overcome by some evil person or persons and murdered then I know I will go to heaven. Why? Because I am trusting God. :).

Lateral Thinking, my friend.

Obviously it is for supremely modern day smart cookies.

"
Lateral thinking is solving problems through an indirect and creative approach, using reasoning that is not immediately obvious and involving ideas that may not be obtainable by using only traditional step-by-step logic. The term was coined in 1967 by Edward de Bono.

I have taken quite a few classes in logic, critical thinking, research and statistics, etc... already. In fact, I have a bachelor's of science and two master's degrees each with an A average. You should have asked rather than make a false assertion based on your own wrong best thinking. That's what a wise person would do. Here's how it works: What are your academic credentials Rachel?

Clearly you need to TAKE a critical thinking course or have taken one. Good luck taking another course on Lateral thinking as well

What idle words were spoken? Are you using Scripture out of context again?

I said this one line about my personal beliefs-

Interesting how offensive is just one line of putting faith and trust in God is.

I am not sorry it bothers you. I will continue to trust God and give my life in his hands. I do not support the carrying of guns. There are other means for protection available to us now.

Nobody cursed you, your accusation is baseless. I'll leave you to your baseless accusations as you have proven discussion with you is an exercise in futility. I'll be praying for you. As you are led friend, as you are led!

Where did you get the idea that lateral thinking somehow falsifies critical thinking. It doesn't.

Lateral thinking is solving problems through an indirect and creative approach, using reasoning that is not immediately obvious and involving ideas that may not be obtainable by using only traditional step-by-step logic.

Critical thinking is a way of deciding whether a claim is true, partially true, or false.

I can engage in idea creation in a multitude of ways some involving the process of lateral thinking but the ideas still have to be qualified which is a function of critical thinking.

Do you think an academic degree is the only basis of a person's intelligence ?

Quite a lot of the world's famous thinkers and inventors are dropouts.

Well clearly, since you didn't mention your very amazing credentials, I would have never known. I am soooooo impressed.

I merely suggested taking up a course on this subject as well and I will ask again , Have you taken a course on lateral thinking?

Well, the topic of this thread is rape, which is a violent and sometimes deadly crime, and your mocking comments make it clear that you don't take the topic of rape very seriously.

Maybe we should make a video that says Praus is a marrtian. Wonder if he'd believe he was a martian!!

Well calling other people martians, or writing stories about their death is a great exercise for those of us learning about why guns should not be handed over to everyone.

Well I hope you test what's leading you.

Matthew 5:22

But I say to you that everyone who is angry with his brother will be liable to judgment; whoever insults his brother will be liable to the council; and whoever says, ‘You fool!’ will be liable to the hell of fire.

Another baseless and false accusation. Funny how those who can't defend their positins result to such tactics. Like I said I'll keep you in my prayers!
