Monicat where you at big sis?
oh dear, i've been busy. work, and non-work stuff... and other stuff too. : )

i had the sleepover on saturday night, which went rather well.

only one minor event that resulted in one of the girls riding with me instead of on her own, which was fine.

some things i learned from the sleepover/day:

+the sheer volume of high pitched squeals from 9 girls encountering a spider can create short-term hearing loss.
+you can never have enough homemade horchata, hot chocolate, brownies or gummy bears.
+young teen/pre-teen girls take a VERY long time in the bathroom to get ready.
+you shouldn't let one paint your toenails - they'll take too much artistic license.

i've been processing everything i saw and heard.

p.s. thank you GLR for the movie recommendation. we never got to a movie, actually. just lots of games. : )

Sorry, I'm not trying to judge you or talk down upon you for drinking diet soda. It's just, between researching and talking with my homeopathic doctor, I've learned a lot about what the FDA has let slide into foods and beverages. My view is, when we try to change what God has made for us, it's going to hurt us in the end, regardless of what it is.

I know not everyone agrees with this stance, but I think it is the safer stance. I know I've benefited staying away from processed sugars, artificial flavors, and artificial sweeteners like Aspartame. High Fructose Corn Syrup and Aspartame both give me migraines. Splenda does weird things to me. It makes me feel like I'm drugged and and hinders my learning comprehension.

To each their own, though. As you said, everyone's body IS different. What works for me might not work for you, and I realize that. The supplements I take to keep myself in order don't all work for my sister or my mom.

Also, since I was 5, I've never been able to drink more than a few sips of soda, because it makes me belch and it burns all the way up to my nose. It's gross and nauseating. I probably drink no more than a can or two per year. And considering the HFCS levels, I'm better off without it anyways. :) And then the whole Aspartame thing...yeesh, I can't get a break. :p

I feel like I might have rambled a bit because I'm tired. Oh well. lol
i don't drink soda either. well, not really. i do love (carbonated) mineral water, and i drink plenty of that.

a couple times a week i slice up a few citrus fruits (grapefruit/lemon/lime/orange) grab a handful of herbs off one of my plants (peppermint or whatever can be harvested), and sometimes cucumbers and put it in a gallon of water to "steep".

i'm completely addicted to it. sometimes i'll mix up what i add to it, but there's always a couple 2 quart mason jars in my fridge of that water in my fridge.

Well, I probably drink too much Diet Coke.

(But the real McCoy Coke these days tastes too sugary...)

Best quote I've heard in a while...

"I don't just want my wedding to be so special that I cry, I want everyone else to cry too."

i might have been at that wedding. as it would better explain the bridesmaid dress i wore.

i was certainly near tears when i saw it....

Bridesmaids have a challenging time; on the one hand they need to blend in with the bride and her dress; on the other they need to avoid drawing more attention to themselves than the bride herself is getting. This doesn't just apply to the dress, of course, but also to demeanor.

So I'm sure it isn't easy...

Blessings.

This thread needed some Beiber in it.

Waaaaaay too much Bieber in the morning! Scratch that.Too much Bieber ANY time of the day. Now I really need some Tequila or infinite boxes of Lucky Charms to wash away the pain.

dude - what is that avatar? Yer very pretty...
It's Will Ferrell, and I believe he's wearing a Springtime shower cap made of flowers & Thank You,you're quite pretty as well.
:eek::p

LOL...this really made me laugh, because @ my wedding the only person who didn't cry or get choked up was the Bride. (guess that should have been a red flag for me or thing's to come?)
:p

I was reading through my newsfeed this morning and saw something that made me queasy. Not even joking. I'm not trying to be unkind. I'm really not, but.....ugh.

People, seriously.... If you are going to post lewd remarks or photographs of your lady parts/of yourself in a bath towel, PLEASE do not post scriptures/christianese posters/sayings along with them. The rest of us are left to defend that sort of hypocrisy and it is very upsetting. You are dragging Christ through the mud when you do stuff like that and it hurts other believers.

I realize that this sort of behavior is done out of desperation and a lack of self-respect, so I will be praying for the person. But right now.... *sigh*

/end rant

Sorry about that, won't happen again. My lady parts and bath towel will stay off the internet from now on.

that's about how i feel about reckless, agressive and/or freely gesturing drivers in vehicles emblazoned with christian decals/stickers. especially when the christian decals are are alongside those charming "girlie profile" mudflaps.

I've had a couple women on my list do this same thing it makes me sad that the only place they feel as if they can be appreciated is on Facebook.
