Afternoooon everybody, hows everyones Sunday going? :D just home from church, and my thought for today is...I need to learn to seek Godly counsel, and not really on earthly wisdom and ways (Psalm 1:1)

So point in this thread is: What has been spoken to you, through pastor/teacher, or through the word or holy spirit, that your thinking on today? :)

What I'm thinking on today, (and everyday), is how I can help others to learn the truth of what they need to know about the bible and God/ Jesus. :) How I can share my wisdom and insight of certain subjects and topics so that people can better inform themselves of what is going on in this world. :)

Thinking of something we should ALL be thankful for.........

Psalm 78:38) But he, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and destroyed them not: yea, many a time turned he his anger away, and did not stir up all his wrath.

ROMANS 10:7) 7 .) Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God.
8 .) Above when he said, Sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law; 9 .) Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second.
10 .) By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

My thought is that I need to learn more scripture so I can (hopefully) lead people to Christ.

.......or, you can invest in a pocket sized NT Bible............. :) being able to quote Scripture at the drop of a hat doesn't necessarily cause people to be led to Christ. More often than not...........it turns them off.

A sincere and loving heart, kind words, and being willing to not only talk to people, but to LISTEN to them as well is most often the best way to share the Good News with them. Scripture reading can come later........but, hey, now, that's just me.

I carry a small bible in my purse at all times so I can refer to it when talking to people about God. I can talk from my heart all day long--and I do. But, I also want to learn scripture, or at least learn where the scripture I need is in the bible so I do not have to fumble around all day.

Thank you for the great advice. I am finding that people do respond better to words from the heart, I love telling them all what God has done for me and how I want the same for them.

I do agree that words from the heart and a caring nature towards others goes a long ways when talking to them about Christ. And listening to what they are saying without talking over them seems to make people more willing to talk to me and listen to how wonderful God really is.

My thought for the day is that I am really, really ready for Spring. This has been a tough winter for so many people.

Up here in Canada we have been sliding around in snow and ice recently. :)

You all are much better prepared for that type of weather. We don't even have a snow plow where I live. When it ice, the best thing for us to do is stay home.

Thy word have I hid in my heart that I might not sin against thee. Good plan Toska.
