I guess elephants, tigers, lemurs, tasmanian devils, raccoons, elk, buffalo, and tucans went extinct before the bible was written.
Mankind rules over ALL animals as commanded in Genesis.

If we lived with T-rex's and the myriad of other gargantuan carnivorous dinosaurs as YEC's like to claim, then that would make them ruling over us...and that is simply NOT what took place...

Simple, Biblical truth.

Not biblical truth.

The bible says man and ALL animals lived in harmony pre fall. And it says they will live in harmony once again when Christ returns.

Your ignorance of the word of God is quite telling.

Re: Study up...

Neither the Babylonian creation story or the Biblical account are the originals. The originals were handed down through the Patriarchs beginning with Adam to Abraham.

There is no doubt that Adam told the story of the creation to his children and it is from this source that the Babylonians received the creation story.

Moses did not copy the Babylonian story, nor did he copy an old original Adam story. Why would he when he talked with God the creator face to face and received the details face to face from the creator himself?

All creation stories contained within the pages of the Holy Bible are based upon the same original truth from the Creator.

The oldest book of the Holy Bible, Job, informs us, otherwise.

And Moses was...?
Who wrote genesis? Moses or Job?

Did he or did he not infer that men and animals lived in harmony before the fall?

Does prophesy not tell us that man and animal will live in harmony once again at a future date?

Is 11:
And the wolf will dwell with the lamb,
And the leopard will lie down with the young goat,
And the calf and the young lion [SUP][a][/SUP]and the fatling together;
And a little boy will lead them.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Also the cow and the bear will graze,
Their young will lie down together,
And the lion will eat straw like the ox.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]The nursing child will play by the hole of the cobra,
And the weaned child will put his hand on the viper’s den.

[SUP]9 [/SUP]They will not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain,
For the earth will be full of the knowledge of the Lord
As the waters cover the sea.

Did you forget this little prophesy?

Thats exactly what I thought.

Man and animal lived in harmony pre fall. God gave man the authority over the animal. So as he did with the lions in daniels day. No animal would have attacked a man. Not to mention they had no desire too..

And you do not know when the prophesy takes place? Where their is still babies nursing, and weaning children. so you tell me when that will be..

Why would God command man to RULE over creatures that are supposed to be in 'harmony' with him....?

You're stuck....again...

The command to "rule over" is to establish the function of man in relationship to the rest of creation. The rest of creation is his dominion.

1. It destroys the Bible’s teaching on death.

No.

Death existed BEFORE sin entered into humanity
.

You knew this question was coming, so here it is: How do you come to this conclusion? This is probably the most important point you have made on this thread. If you can explain how death occurred before sin, it opens up a whole new prospective for OEC. Look forward to your explanation.

No. I am not stuck.

Rule does not mean master over, Like the world wants you to think.

Rule means to care for., and provide for. Like God wants us to think.

You the one stuck and ignoring scripture.

Yes,

He was to care for the earth, as well as the animals.

According to scripture. Death occurred as a result of sin. So if there was no sin, How could death be in play?

The OT context of the Hebrew root, and its derivatives, clearly indicates that 'rule' is NOT intended to be a harmonious relationship.
