Thankfully, science is starting to catch up somewhat and acknowledges that certain emotions (intangible) affect the physical body negatively and can effect negative psychological (tangible) and mental problems. Some of these negative effects are arthritis, heart problems, anxiety, depression, cancer, etc. Because God created us three parts interconnected, all three parts are able to and do affect each other. When it comes to living as Christians, all three parts of a person need to be addressed for wholeness.
Love, the Bible shows, contains all kinds of solutions to all kinds of issues: diseases, mental and psychological issues, spiritual issues and this dealing with the demonic, etc. The Bible says that "Love covers a multitude of sins." That's not all Love covers; Love generally covers. There's a doctrine of spiritual covering that the enemy defiled long ago to keep people from the undefiled teaching and power of it. The Bible tells us not to forsake gathering with other believers (sincere followers of Christ) because there's a spiritual covering of Love in that place. Can fellowship with genuine believers really 'cure' many types of issues? I might record evidence of this someday. Yes, being in fellowship with genuine believers can bring relief in many areas without extra minister being needed to deal with the issues. Here are some, but by no means all, issues that being in the presence of genuine believers can solve: depression, anxiety, anger, grief and loss and sorrow, minor physical illnesses (like stomach issues, headaches, some colds, vision and back problems, etc.) often caused by a lack of joy, indecision, low self-esteem/worth, curses sent on a person, some demonic issues, unanswered prayers, financial problems, confusion of identity, etc. Fellowship is starting to sound like a pretty sweet deal
I know people who aren't part of a fellowship where people really seek God (seeking Him is what makes Him reside among them, causing peace or an overall well-being). They never cease to struggle with this and to need prayer for the same things over and over. There's a very real need for genuine fellowship where Jesus really is in the midst as Lord. Many Christians suffer, most in silence in my opinion, because of a lack of this. Recognizing the need for fellowship where Jesus is allowed to be Lord is a good start in understanding why so many issues are unresolved and many Christians hurt and struggle endlessly.
