[TD]The Real Unemployment Rate: In 20% Of American Families, EVERYONE Is Unemployed
Posted: 28 Apr 2014 04:30 PM PDT
According to shocking new numbers that were just released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 20 percent of American families do not have a single person that is working. So when someone tries to tell you that the unemployment rate in the United States is about 7 percent, you should just laugh. One-fifth of the families in the entire country do not have a single member with a job. That is absolutely astonishing. How can a family survive if nobody is making any money? Well, the answer to that question is actually quite easy. There is a reason why government dependence has reached epidemic levels in the United States. Without enough jobs, tens of millions of additional Americans have been forced to reach out to the government for help. At this point, if you can believe it, the number of Americans getting money or benefits from the federal government each month exceeds the number of full-time workers in the private sector by more than 60 million.
When I was growing up, it seemed like anyone that was willing to work hard could find a good paying job. But now that has all changed. At this point, 20 percent of all the families in the entire country do not have a single member that has a job. That includes fathers, mothers and children. The following is how CNSNews.com broke down the numbers…
A family, as defined by the BLS, is a group of two or more people who live together and who are related by birth, adoption or marriage. In 2013, there were 80,445,000 families in the United States and in 16,127,000—or 20 percent–no one had a job.
To be honest, these really are Great Depression-type numbers. But over the years “unemployment” has been redefined so many times that it doesn’t mean the same thing that it once did. The government tells us that the official unemployment rate is about 7 percent, but that number is almost meaningless at this point.
A number that I find much more useful is the employment-population ratio. According to the employment-population ratio, the percentage of working age Americans that actually have a job has been below 59 percent for more than four years in a row…

That means that more than 41 percent of all working age Americans do not have a job.
When people can’t take care of themselves, it becomes necessary for the government to take care of them. And what we have seen in recent years is government dependence soar to unprecedented levels. In fact, welfare spending and entitlement payments now make up 69 percent of the entire federal budget. For much more on this, please see my previous article entitled “18 Stats That Prove That Government Dependence Has Reached Epidemic Levels“.
And what is even more frightening is that more families are falling out of the middle class every single day. As a recent CNN article explained, approximately one-third of all U.S. households are living “hand-to-mouth”. In other words, they are constantly living on the edge of financial disaster…
About one-third of American households live “hand-to-mouth,” meaning that they spend all their paychecks. But what surprised the study authors is that 66% of these families are middle class, with a median income of $41,000. While they don’t have liquid assets, such as savings accounts or mutual fund holdings, they do have homes and retirement accounts, with a median net worth of $41,000.
“We don’t expect them to be living paycheck to paycheck,” said Greg Kaplan, study co-author and assistant professor of economics at Princeton University.
The American Dream is rapidly becoming an American nightmare.
When I was growing up, I lived in a pretty typical middle class neighborhood. Everyone had a nice home, a couple of cars and could go on vacation during the summer. I don’t remember ever hearing of anyone using food stamps or going to a food bank. In fact, I can’t even remember anyone having a parent that was unemployed. If someone did leave a job, it was usually quite easy to find another one.
But today, the middle class is being ripped to shreds and according to one new report there are 49 million Americans that are dealing with food insecurity in 2014.
How can anyone not see what is happening to us? America is in the midst of a long-term economic decline, but the mainstream media and most of our politicians seem to think that things are better than ever. They continue to try to convince us that “business as usual” is the right path to take.
But one-fifth of the families in the entire nation are already totally unemployed.
At what point will we finally admit that what we are doing right now is simply not working?
30 percent of all families unemployed?
40 percent?
50 percent?
If we stay on the road that we are on now, things are going to continue to get worse. Millions more jobs will be shipped overseas, millions more jobs will be replaced by technology and crippling government regulations will kill millions more jobs. The middle class will continue to shrink and government dependence will continue to rise.
Most people just want to work hard, put food on the table, pay their mortgages and provide a nice life for their families.
But the percentage of Americans that are successfully able to do that just keeps getting smaller.
Wake up America.
Your middle class is dying.

''Your middle class is dying.''

Its the goal of socialism.

You hear the complaint that there is a widening gap between the rich and the poor. If this is true, its because the USA has been growing more and more socialist, not more and more conservative.

You realize that right? We are not as conservative as we use to be....and we have MORE poor. Those evil conservatives you have hated for years and years....were giving you not only employment but a life you lived on your terms.

Now neither one of those circumstances are widespread...and your socialism/liberalism and lets call it what it really is, marxism, is to blame.

The same ideology that claims to be FOR the poor is creating poverty at record rates....and you time and time again vote for it.

Amazing, truly amazing. What you want, you vote against, thinking you are getting it. Stat after stat proves without a doubt that liberal ideals cause poverty...and you vote for it.

Obviously the ''you'' I am talking about are our liberal visitors not the op originator but these are the people who must change for our country to come back to greatness.

Won't impact though. Its more important for a liberal to believe he supports helping the poor than actually helping them. To look good to their buddies for being....lol...gag....lol....compassionate.

socialism works until you run out of other peoples money.....

anyway, When I was growing up where I live right now was considered upper middle class/lower rich. some 30 years later (actually about 14) we are a slum, that is starting to resemble Detroit. what happened? #1 the loss of over 40,000 (YES 40 THOUSAND) jobs. then the forced section 8 put in our area (forced by democrats I must say in the name of diversity). When section 8 came crime went up to levels NEVER seen in 100 years of existence. So many left, thus scammy rental companies bought homes to rent under you guessed it section 8. creating more crime. more crime more leave rental companies buy thus more section 8. In less then a decade we went from being one of the nicest parts of the city to a craphole.

Why did section 8 play a part? it caused the loss of the lower end jobs (supermarkets, small stores). People do not like getting stuff stolen from them. Businesses will not tolerate theft. As soon as section 8 came, stores started to lose items due to theft. thus the markets which had been open 24/7 started to close at 9PM,8PM,7PM (ie close to dark) so 3rd shifters lost work. 2nd shift lost hours (ie went from FT to PT) other stores moved away or just up right closed. thus more jobs lost on top of the 40K higher paid jobs.

Another thing that harmed our city was the democrats. Democrats destroyed the school system. Of course all in the name of Diversity. In 1994 the city had 3 high schools, 3 middle school and dozens of NEIGHBORHOOD k-6 schools.. and ran on only 190 school buses. MOST KIDS K-6 WALKED TO SCHOOL. but the democrats said the schools were not diverse enough.. we had to bus kids all over the place to make it culturally diverse. in less then 15 years the system is down to 1 high 1 middle and a couple K-6 and has to operate a fleet of 600 school buses. IT NOW COSTS THEM MORE TO RUN THE SCHOOL SYSTEM THEN IT DID IN 1994! and back in 94 we had 1 bad high school and 1 bad middle and a couple bad K-6 to ALL OF THEM RANKING BAD!

guess what happened? MORE PEOPLE LEFT!! I should say more of the productive people left! thus causing the loss of MORE JOBS as many who left owned and operated a business!

It took Democrats about 20 years to destroy a once strong city. knocking it from 4th largest to about 16th.

Of course we hear of new jobs rolling in.. 100 here 200 there.. one of the bigger ones was 2,000... but that was a sham as all that happened was they closed one factory for this one. and 95% of those jobs went to those who worked at the old one, and they didn't move to this city nope they moved a bit farther away to a REPUBLICAN stronghold county.

Sadly my city will NEVER recover. it will become the next Detroit, its 50% there already.

In short. NEVER TRUST A DEMOCRAT.

Take the unemployment rate provided by the government and multiply by 225% to get the true rate. The people that compile these numbers probably had Common Core mathematics in school.

it saddens me to see Detroit and other cities that were once beautiful and wealthy now totally destroyed. and the common theme in every one of these destroyed cities has been democrats. shame many refuse to see it.

Ya know I think the liberals know their policies are bankrupt, financially and morally, but they look and feel so good about being...lol...hehe...lol....compassionate...lol....puke...gasp....lol...

they cannot accept truth.

Its not about helping people to them. Its about looking like you are helping people ( by the way with other people's monies, namely the rich evil white man ) Even though their vaunted government programs are causing more poverty, they still think they are good people by supporting them.....

and we are evil selfish racists for actually thinking a job is better than a government check.

Google how much money collected for social programs actually gets to the people to help them and you will realize the ugly truth about liberal politics...

its not there to help poor people but to grow government and to get liberal politicians...rich.

Google the incomes of incoming congressmen....and their incomes when they leave.

Google the number of high paying jobs created by this presidents administration.....its amazingly high.

There is only one interesting revelation to come from politics. It proves that faith reveals truth to people more than facts do because...

if facts were the only thing that made truths real, no one could be a liberal.

God hears our groaning. But He has not done this to us, we have, by disobeying God, have brought this upon ourselves.
Prophecy is coming to pass: "Manasseh will become a land full of strangers" and so we have. Not only have we allowed them to come in droves, but are electing them to govern over us. Everything that is right is called wrong, and everything that is wrong is called right. One cannot speak truth anymore without being labeled something that ends with an "ist" or "phobe".
A priest or pastor could not teach God's word as it is for very long without being removed.
We are the frogs in the pot of water on the stove and now it is too late to jump out.

The world has always been the world.

Its when the church embraces the principles of the world is when the great apostasy happens.

Practicing unrepentive gay pastors should never exist in the Church. ( to be honest they aren't...the churches they head are not christian )

Feminism may be great for the work place....maybe.....but its not for church leadership.

Pay taxes to Ceasar if your sermons are being controlled by the government.

Having a tv in the sanctuary...and gasp...eelectric geetars is not the world invading the church but couples living together are.
