Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

And lead us not into temptation, but
deliver us from evil:
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
As anyone can see from the words written in black and white, you pray because you lack understanding. Prayer is for people in a "possessive state of mind" "carnally inclined", some more than others and some not at all, ahem, yeah I.
OUR is a possessive pronoun
THY and THINE (YOUR/s)are also possessive pronouns
Possession or desire PERIOD is separation from God or sin and in all cases possession is seeking the worldly, whether it is to know God as being who talks to you, or sexual desires, or even food.
However...
US is an Oblique pronoun-cannot be used as the subject; used as the role of a verb
WE is a Nominative pronoun-used as the subject
This is God showing that you think you speak to him, how so, when you SEEK to properly read the verses of the bible written in plain English your prayers are all you must do to talk to him. LOL.
I will share more on MY pronoun theory...
There are two extremes of SELF or ONENESS
"I" being whole, total self, spiritual, ubiquitous, GOD, total truth...that is why Jesus teaches with "I AM"
John...
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
I AM is the father and Nominative case
ME is the next step down from "I" and Oblique case
My, MINE is the next step down from ME and they are possessive case (MAN, WORLDLY, CARNAL)
Hence the verse ...I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me
On the other end of the spectrum there is the word "THEIRS". Now this word represents total separation from self. It speaks entirely of others and only of the ownership or possessive nature of those others. There is no self, no ONENESS, no GOD, CARNAL, only coveting that which is the neighbor's
