I just joined a few days ago and hear a lot of people on here talking about when and how they were saved. I've been a christian my whole life so of course I've heard about it, but I never really understood it. I'm christian and accept Jesus in my heart, but does that mean I'm saved? I never had like an "ah ha" moment where I realized I was saved.

So, what does it mean to be saved and how were you saved? And am I saved?
(How many times am I going to write the word saved? Saved. Okay. I'm done.)

Yes, as long as you keep the faith... Christ is everlasting life, your belief and faith in him is your salvation

It is to have a saving relationship with JEsus. To know him and to be known by him.

Ok, thanks. I guess I'm saved then :)
Well.............someone has to rain on this parade...........(do like the pink hair though :) )

People are not "saved" from birth........indicated by your statement "my whole life." Salvation is no hereditary. One isn't saved because ones Grandmother, or Mother was saved........went to church every Sunday.

Salvation is a personal event that occurs between a person and God. So if you have not had that "aha" moment, there is a good chance you may not be saved. A few questions to consider..........

Have you ever fell under conviction of the Holy Spirit for your earthly/sinful life?
Have you ever knelt down --- with a sincere and contrite heart and confessed your sins to God?
Have you ever (while kneeling there praying) asked Jesus Christ to come into your life as your Lord and Saviour?
Have you ever (while kneeling there praying) surrendered your whole life to His Will?

One MUST be old enough to understand right from wrong..........before one can understand that they are living a sinful life. A life apart from God. And then one can understand the need for God --- through His Grace --- to save their souls.

just FYI........... :)

SAVED means to keep alive instead of dyng

the BIBLE means you to be SAVED FROM BEING ETERNALLY KILLED

SAVED FROM DEATH

SAVED FROM SINFUL LIFESTYLE

SAVED FROM THE BURNING OF SINNERS

SAVED FROM BEING THROWN INTO THE LAKE OF FIRE
SAVED FROM DESTRUCTION

to be saved means NOT KILED IN THE PLAGUES

Mat 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
Mat 24:22 And except those days should be shortened,
there should no flesh be saved:
but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

SAVED FROM BEING KILLED
Mat 27:42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.

SAVED FROM BEING KILLED

Mark 13:13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

SAVED FROM BEING KILLED
Gen 47:25 And they said, Thou hast saved our lives: let us find grace in the sight of my lord, and we will be Pharaoh's servants.

SAME WORD

SAVED FROM BEING KILLED

SAVED FROM BEING KILLED

SAVED FROM BEING KILLED

SAVED FROM BEING KILLED

SAVED FROM BEING KILLED

false doctrines are invented with false word meanings taken incorrectly

it is important to look up the meanings of the words
then look up every wverse used in the Bible with that word

and then you see
what you have been told is
almost always
wrong doctrine

most people dont think the soul dies

so they cant understand what being saved really means

if means

you wont die
saved from eternal death.

given eternal live
only those who keep the word of God will be saved, read the verses.

Salvation is more than just a prayer to pray!
More than just a way to heaven!

BUT, to be salt and light in the world.
I hope that as the redeemed of the Lord we'd say SO.....
(I hope too, that we are getting the secret behind).

Sorry, to say, BUT, it post like this one that makes SAlVATION a DIRT word.! Separating Sanctification from Salvation makes the Devil happy and Jesus sad. People think they can get saved by a simple prayer, to gain forgiveness and still remain in their sins and to continue to live for the Devil and themselves. God chose sinners to salvation thru sanctification and belief in the truth. 2Thess.2:13 Love to all Hoffco

Funny that people want to make salvation so complicated! I wonder who really wants to make it so complicated so people give up? Doesn't sound like God wants that.

The Bible is so clear. Salvation can be understood by a Child. Any Child over 7 or 8 yrs. can understand what God requires for a sinners to be saved. God demands Repentance from sin, to be sorry for our sins, stop disobeying God and obey Him. Love and obey Jesus and ask Him to forgive us our sins. Ask God to give you a good heart that will hate sin and love to obey Jesus. I teach young and old, You are dead to God because of you bad heart, ask God for a new heart to love God and to love others. I teach the whole truth. Romans 6:22-23 "But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness and the end, everlasting life. for the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."Love to all, Hoffco

(How many times am I going to write the word saved? Saved. Okay. I'm done.)
Matthew 10:22 You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

Mark 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

Luke 7:50 Jesus said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace.”

Luke 8:12 Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved.

Luke 9:24 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.

John 10:9 I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out, and find pasture.

Acts 2:21 And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.’

I have a friend who grew up in a Christian home, was brought to church every Sunday of her life. She says she was saved as a very small child -- she doesn't really even remember when. When I first heard this, I was a bit askance. Being a first generation Christian, I honestly didn't think she was saved. Of course, I never questioned her about it as it is not my place to judge her salvation. But as I've gotten to know her, I can see that she did, indeed, had a true conversion at some point in her life. It wasn't like mine and it wasn't like my hubby's, but her heart is God's and she demonstrates this every day.

I wouldn't get too hung up on this. If you sincerely believe in your heart that Jesus is Lord, then I would say the conversion has taken place. You may not remember when. but if you're growing in God's grace and living for Him, I'd say you're doing better than most "Christians."

And to address the earlier conversation: Salvation and Sanctification ARE separate. Once one is saved, the sanctification process begins. The salvation must come first, otherwise we cannot BE sanctified. I'll admit that it is nuanced -- salvation happens in the twinkling of an eye, but sanctification takes a lifetime!

The term saved refers to a condition in the soul in which ones sins are forgiven and one is given eternal life. It is not something we can think we have but something we must know we have.

Before we can be saved we must understand that we are born lost. We are born with a nature to sin and we sin against God. We are saved when we are born again but Gods Holy Spirit. Gods Holy Spirit brings to us conviction of sin, righteousness and judgment. Of sin because we are sinners. Of righteousness because Christ was without sin. Of judgment because Gods wrath abides upon sin.

All of the bible centers around Christ. Salvation by grace through faith necessitated because men are sinners and sin separates them from God. God loves men and desires to forgive them and save them but will not act against their will in this matter.

For the cause of Christ

since SAVED means kept from being killed in the KJV Bibl
now you see how silly it is to say

once saved from being killed, always saved from being killed

which is totally rediculous.

So when we listen to false Bible verses and false defifnitions we can end up with strange doctrines

you can be saved from being killed today and
then die tomorrow....

obviously
