Also in John 8:58 Jesus says of himself ".... I am!" No one is "I am" except God. So how and why did Jesus say this?
The word "I am" in John 8:58 is the word "egō eimi". This same word is used in John 9-9 as well.

John 9:9 Some said, “This is he.” Others said, “He is like him.” He said, “I am he.”

Is this gut God too?

God is talking through Jesus. When Jesus talks it is the words of the father.

John 14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works

The original language didn't use capital letters so that is a modern man made issue used to help prompt what is being taught. Now the funny this is that when the same word, logos, is use in other areas of the New Testament they don't use a capital letter.

WORD in the bible is derived from Logos in Greek. It is mentioned other times in the bible but Logos is not always translated as WORD. Logos is also translated as Law and Torah. Jesus is the walking Torah/Law. The spirit of God dwells inside the temple(Jesus). Jesus performed God's commandments(law/torah) perfectly and without sin.

Jesus also had His own will and His own words which He had to reject in order to do His Father's will and speak His Father's words.

Luke 22:42 “Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.”

Amen! We could say, "Jesus gave life to the Logos though His obedience to it".

This is true. The Bible shows that Jesus also had his own will.

In John 8:58 Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am

Who is doing the talking Jesus or God?

Just click on "Reply With Quote" at the bottom of the post you want to quote. That will put the other person's reply in quotation marks in your reply.

Before we go any further into our discussion I would like to say one thing. I do not use belief in a Trinity God as the basis for fellowship or to determine if one is a Christian or not. Understanding the Divine nature of God is a complicated subject and should not be used as a basis for fellowship or to determine if one is a Christian or not. I believe we need to use a common denominator to base fellowship on and that common denominator is found in Matthew 16:15-17.

Matthew 16:15-17 Jesus said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

Belief in Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the living God, should be the common denominator for all believers. Anything after, Jesus is the Christ the Son of the living God, the waters get muddy so we should never use something that is unclear as a basis for fellowship or identity.
