i also know that unless that the word and the testimony was given, you could not have heard it, and could not have received it if you had not heard it.

note the bit that says "He shall not speak of Himself"

so we know if a spirit glorifies itself, it is not from God, but the Spirit of Truth glorifies God, and testifies of His Son.
now we have two witnesses: the Spirit sent to us by our Savior, and the scripture that testifies of Him. if we ignore either, the truth is not established.

i don't think it's wise to be flippant about the scripture - see how it causes my brother to stumble?

If your "spirit of truth" is from God there is no way it could deny the pure and total truth of the Bible...God's Word

is that supposed to mean you agree with, disagree with, or just don't comprehend what i wrote?

can you address what i said about time? about who it belongs to? about being flip about scripture and glorifying a spirit? i'd much rather talk about the Truth than make personal jabs at other users.

If the Bible is called the Word of God how could it not be truth? Did God lie to us? And you use the Word of God to defend your point of having the " spirit of truth". Well if the Bible isn't truth to you how can you believe this "spirit of truth"?
