Tell me one simple thing , who living in the spirit can sin?
1 John 1:8-9

8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Are you asking about sacrifice, circumcision, and kosher in the same frame of mind as these people against scripture? Or with the idea of using them instead of knowing Christ?
I also asked about the law of stoning people to death. To this one I didn't get any answer.

Just-me,

Do you understand what I write? I am talking about literally keeping the law, not about the spiritual meaning of the law. The thread is about those who keep the law, not about the spiritual meaning of it, and ignore the council of Jerusalem.

The Jerusalem Decree

22 Then it pleased the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas, namely, Judas who was also named Barsabas,[e] and Silas, leading men among the brethren.
23 They wrote this letter by them:
The apostles, the elders, and the brethren,
To the brethren who are of the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia:
Greetings.
24 Since we have heard that some who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, saying, “You must be circumcised and keep the law”[f] —to whom we gave no such commandment25 it seemed good to us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, 26 men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. 27 We have therefore sent Judas and Silas, who will also report the same things by word of mouth. 28 For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things: 29 that you abstain from things offered to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality.[g] If you keep yourselves from these, you will do well.
Farewell.

It is still nonsense to seek justification by the working of the law without Christ. That's why Paul talks the law down so much in scripture pointing to that vain righteousness by the works of the law that is minus faith in Christ. There is no other way to exact the law other than through faith. That's the entire point for Paul said "Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid : yea, we establish the law." If a person celebrates the 3 feasts once a year by whatever means as they are convicted to do, and it is because of faith in Jesus Christ that's great. There is absolutely nothing that these actions will do to deteriorate the faith they have. It might will enhance it because faith can be increased. Those that have rejected the law as void will never know that these 3 feasts point directly to Christ Jesus, past present and future. The feast of tabernacles (for example) is a type of rehearsal for the millennial rein of Christ and should be practiced in all churches spiritually. It's absolutely beautiful! Here's some prophecy.

"And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. And if the family of Egypt go not up , and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles." Zechariah 14:16-18

If you can manage to so completely get rid of your body that you give up eating, working for a living, walking, and all the things your body does, so you live only in the spirit without having to dispose of your body by burial or cremation, etc., you let me know!! We die to self, we put the words of the Lord in our mind and heart, we put on Christ, we do everything we can to walk in the ways of the Lord, and scripture tells us that body of ours comes right along with us.

We are no longer held to the sacrificial, or the punishments that were issued by the law.
That is how we are no longer under the law, for Jesus took our punishment and became the sacrifice for us.

Still some will try to say eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth as well as the other punishments that come with the law still apply.

This is false, the moral values do still apply for they were put there to show us our sins and how to come to walking in love that our Lord Jesus Christ issued in with the new covenant with His own blood.

Knowing how to walk in love now we should no longer be under a tutor ( law ) to show us how to walk, but unfortunately some miss the true meaning and continue to want to punish others in an unloving manner. They do not spend the time out of love to minister and try to help them correct their wrong doings.

They want to skip this and go straight to punishments, and even put them to death.

Paul was demonstrating his battle with the flesh in Romans chapter 7. I don't think many truthful people can say they are better in Spirit than he was.

Study this scriptrue pertaining to the eye for an eye and tooth for a tooth thing. It was enlightening to me as God is a God of equity, and then study the Hebrew traditions of slapping another person in the face. I think you will see some spiritual relevance there that are compatible.

Exodus chapter 21
Leviticus chapter 4
and Deuteronomy chapter 9

All pertaining to the eye for an eye thing. Equity is the precedence.

People who read that God tells us to go stone other people when they read about stoning with absolutely no understanding of God or scripture are like the people the Lord spoke of who couldn't understand a parable. I have read some of your posts where you tell of understanding you have of the Lord.

Do you want me to come hold your hand, walk you through all the OT so that you can meet the Father who created you?

Go back to scripture, also find out what the world was like that God was trying to guide people through to create justice, abundance, and living in this world so it produced goodness and justice. Put on the mind of Christ, and read it all again. Remember that it is also like our world today, except Christ is our high priest, the temple of brick and mortar is replaced by Christ, Christ had not shed His real blood yet, except in eternal time it was shed so they used animal blood to tell about it, there were no jails, -----put on the mind of God as you read. Also, never read without knowing it is of God and God is eternal, God is love, everything God does is for our benefit and with the goal of us living with Him forever.

Jesus did not end ( abolish ) the law, and He did not fulfill it.

He told us that by loving the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind; and loving our neighbor as ourselves that is how the law is fulfilled. The reason is by walking in love you will not have the urge to do wrong, we do however back slide at times though because none of us are perfect.

surely you know better than this post!! In the first place if to "keep the law" means you think that is being perfect you are not reading scripture or letting it guide you. If what you want to get across to Christians is to go against all Christ tells us about how we should live, that we should never try to follow Christ---surely you know better. If you say that all the Hebrews went through when they were freed from slavery in Egypt means nothing, God was doing nothing with that, it is something no one who knows the most elementary things of God would say.

If you are saying that Christ forgives our sins, why not say that, why bring in all about trying to walk with Christ in His ways.

I have studied on it, and it goes along with what God said in Exodus about if a man sheds mans blood, by man his blood shall be shed.

Our Lord changed all that under the new covenant, He showed us His grace and forgiveness by forgiving our sins as we are/were sinners. In return we are to show that same love and forgiveness He shows to us towards others.

If you believe we should put to death some one who is in prison for murder, then you are not showing the same love and forgiveness to them that the Lord showed to you.

Jesus calls for us to go and minister to them, and forgive them. Trying all the time to lead them to repentance and believe in the Lord Jesus as their Savior.

What does my understanding of the Law have to do with the fact that the Jews wanted to kill the adulterous woman according to the Law? And tragically, this law is still being applied in some Muslim countries (a law inspired by the flawed understanding of the O.T.)

Do you want me to come hold your hand, walk you through all the OT so that you can meet the Father who created you?
Please don't! What can a blind man do for another blind? Christ sent to the Church the Holy Spirit as a guide. I have the Church to hold my hand and walk me through the O.T.

Go back to scripture, also find out what the world was like that God was trying to guide people through to create justice, abundance, and living in this world so it produced goodness and justice. I also keep in mind that Jesus Christ IS God and that the law of the O.T only has relevance in Christ, when it points to Christ.

Jesus did not end ( abolish ) the law, and He did not fulfill it.
Christ did fulfill the law, in the sense that He met the requirements of the law we failed to keep, which damned us in sin before an absolutely holy God. By His atonement, we were made as if having perfectly kept the law, as He did, were imputed the righteousness of Christ. In faith in Jesus Christ, we are as if having perfectly kept the whole law, no longer in bondage to how the law damns us in sin.

Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

In other words, the requirements of the law that kept the sinner, of even one sin, from spiritual communion with our holy God have been abolished, in Christ's sinless life and blood, His vicarious atonement, perfect fulfillment of all the requirements of the law, such that a sinner can be forgiven by a completely holy God that demands justice, but Jesus Christ having taken the penalty for sin that would have been due us.

God is completely righteous and holy, which also means He cannot wink at sin, or He would be permissive of, complicit, with sin, and therefore not really be holy. Lawlessness requires justice, if God is righteous and holy, disobedience a price. Christ, you could say, fulfilled the law for us, taking the necessary penalty phase of our crimes, for our failing to fulfill the requirements of the law.
