I think people get bogged down with this 'Jesus is God' stuff. Church Fathers have even gone to war over this and murdered each other. The Orthodox Church split with Rome over a related squabble.

To be more pragmatic, it's important to realise this:

1. Jesus was called Rabbi by his followers and his fan club at the time. Jesus was seen as a Teacher. A holy man that taught. He then got a reputation as a healer. Because in those days people believed in the spiritual power to heal, and God sent Jesus with that power.

2. Jesus said: "I am the way, the truth, and the light. No one comes to 'The Father' (ie Yahweh. aka God), except through me.

So right away, Jesus is saying: He is the embodiment of 'truth'. Much like the pagans whose Gods embodied virtues, Jesus was the embodiment of 'The way', 'The Truth' and 'the light'.

But more important, is that Jesus is the 'doorway'. He connects a person, via him, to 'The Father'. People pray and use Jesus' name to command things. Like: "In Jesus' name, I pronounce you healed!".

So.... just on the very off chance, Jesus is not God... it doesn't matter, Because Jesus is 'the way', 'the truth' and 'the light', and the embodiment of truth says he is the only way, through, to The Father.

So we conclude, That Jesus, who is the doorway, is an emanation of God, just like the Holy spirit. aka, is God.
The deity of Jesus is the foundation of salvation. Since scripture makes such a big deal of this perhaps we should give it its due attention.

Simple understandings..............

God the Father: God OF man

God the Son: God AS man

God the Holy Spirit: God WITHIN man

The Holy Trinity.............and ANY who deny the deity of Christ will face eternal damnation...............for if you deny Jesus, you deny God...............

The Word came from God. True or false?
FALSE! The Word was with God. Forever, eternally. The Word (Jesus Christ prior to His human birth) was the God who spoke and appeared in the Old Testament. The God who's name is translated LORD which is derived from YHVH or JHVH which means Self Existent One. The God who's name means the Eternal, the I AM.

You have posted several of these Believe questions plus personal messaging me some of these questions. I'd like to see your personality and not so much yes/no true/false. It is o.k. to show your personal opinion and your personality. You are getting to know some of us but I know very little about you except you seem elusive to me. Anyway would like to get to know you a little better if you would share some of your thoughts this would be helpful. Thanks

If you don't want to share them here then personal message me again and share some of your thoughts. JesusLives

Nope, not for that reason. I believe that Christ is God for this reason...

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
And to add...And the word came to be flesh and we beheld his glory......!

The grace I find here is very humbling. As I read through this thread I'm thinking this person is being antagonistic yet everyone is being kind and gentle. I have much to learn.

I believe in Yahuwah, the Father.
I believe in His Son Yahushua.
I believe Yah sent His only Son, Yahushua, who died on the cross.
I believe Yahushua rose again on the third day, and is alive for ever more, sitting at the right hand of the throne of Yah.
I believe Yahushua is Yah made manifest in the flesh.
I believe in the Qodesh Ruah (Holy Spirit).
I believe Yah's Word is ever lasting.

I believe I am saved, and forgiven of my sins, by asking Him for His salvation and forgiveness He provided for all of us out of His love for each and every one of us, by prayer and confessing with my mouth Yahushua is Adon, and I believe in serving Him, and seeking Him with my whole heart.

I believe in heaven, and I believe in hell.
I believe in Elohim and the Devil, but choose to serve Elohim.

He does not seem to be antagonistic. I think there is simply a lot about the deity of Christ he does not understand and he is trying to make sense out of some of these passages. I am happy to help anyone who has an earnest desire to learn.

I very much agree here and several have explained that Christ really is God and that is what we believe.

I will say this, I am absolutely sure of what I believe so when I say something, I leave no room for doubt. Please don't ever think that I mean that in an antagonistic manner, I am simply stating what I know to be truth as straightforwardly as I can.

When Jesus was born He was the only begotten Son of God. Those that were born of God after Jesus, were begotten of God.True or false?

The Holy Ghost is God. The Holy Ghost is the Father of Jesus. Jesus is God because His Body is the temple of the Holy Ghost.

Your reasoning is flawed. Jesus was God before he became flesh. No passage of scripture implies that Jesus is God because the HS indwells him. The HS indwell every Christian, this does not make us God.

Matthew 20:16 “So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”
Jesus did not become God manifested in the flesh till He was born.He was God because His body was the temple of the Holy Ghost.Jesus was the first one born of God.NOT THE ONLY ONE.
