So what you are having difficulty with is the idea that Jesus was God before he came in the flesh. Is this correct?

I believe Jesus is God because he said so. The bible says so. And thats more than enough for me.

What is your difficulty separating the two? They are are not of the same time period. Just as that was then and this is now.

Jesus as God is not bound by time. For him time is not a constraining factor rather it is a product of his making. He created it. Jesus was God from before the beginning of time. He merely stepped into the temporal world for a brief time to save men from their sins.
Tell me what you understand about John 1.

That is absolutely true. There is a big difference between begotten and born.

I can most generally tell which doctrine and theology and denomination or sect a Christian has been brainwashed with by their persistence to resis that which proves what they believe to be false.

Belief stems from faith after having sought truth in all earnesty. It is a gift from our Maker. It cannot be seized, nor can it be rationalized, but it is the most stable factor in our being, and it is eternal. Faith is also the result of hope. Faith leads to love.
