I'm far from what God wants me to be, which I'm not sure what it is yet.

I understand how you feel. The good thing is that God accepts us for who we are, including our flaws and short-comings. Positive change is like the subtle change in the seasons - a little here, a little there. You are on the right track but there is the occasional derail that is to be expected, myself included.

It's also the fact that while it may take a lifetime to 'get it', we also are not guaranteed a tomorrow to find out, either. Twenty or eighty years, does it matter? Ah, can't be serious right now... :-\

It all matters. We just don't understand how it all is going to play out.

Life is a series of choices and we have many to make during each day.....Yes or no what will the choice be today. Serve God or not, accept God or not. Give up a bad habit or not.....choices we have to make them even if you sit on the fence you have made the choice of indecision.... Yes or no what will be your choice today?

I have a problem that I sometimes do the wrong without having the time to weigh it out. It just flies out. Talking about wrong knee jerk kind of reactions I might have at times.
Hate that speedy satan.

Thank God that He is faster than Satan and ready to forgive us we just keep going to Him and lay our sin at Jesus feet and He forgives us. I have problems with the Pet Sins the ones that I want to try and hold onto. Got to let them go and give it to God and let the Holy Spirit help me say no so I don't continue in that Pet Sin.....ugh Thank Jesus for paying the price I must let go and let God do this for me.

My wife had to leave the house for a couple hours. Now I am not sure if she took my pack of smokes or not but it does not really matter because I am sure that she knows how many are left in the pack. I thought that I would take a little walk down the street to the nearest store and score me a pack. I would have a puff on the way back and then hide the pack in the house. The only problem with that scenario is that the agreement that I have made with her is that I must make a record in this little note book whenever I do smoke. I did not want to lie to her so half-way to the store I turned around.

I am down to 2 smokes a day now. I can have another one later in the day. I have these very strong cravings right now so I will just have another cookie from the little Christmas Cookie tin. There is a problem with that too because there is only one little cookie left.

I will just have another sip of my coffee. I have a coffee addiction as well. Gonna be drinking decaf one day and eating a lot of cookies. The cookies are alright 'cause I need to gain weight. Maybe the sun will shine later. I can only hope and pray.

I´m sure a woman like that loves you... I remember I had a gf who loves to smoke (she is a writer) and I left her because I hated the way her tongue tasted each time I kissed her.

tourist: For some reason your latest monologue reminds me of a scene from the movie airplane, where the captain of the air traffic control tower starts saying looks like I picked the wrong week to stop smoking... then a bit later he says looks like I picked the wrong week to stop drinking... then a bit later he says looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue...

Oh well, if you have to keep one addiction I guess coffee isn't that bad. My grandmother is a major coffee drinker and she is now 82 years old and still going strong.

If you don't know what God wants you to be,
then how can you be sure whether or not you're measuring up?

Maybe you need to do some bible study on what you're supposed to be,
so it's really clear.

Decaffeinated coffee is not as healthy as it is being touted. It is just a new product so now they have to tell us that caffeeine is bad in order to get us to buy it. Coffee with caffeine is a better choice. Unless maybe you're having too much espresso and getting jittery, which I dont believe is the case. You likely drink the creamy palatable stuff stuffed with sugar that easily makes us addicted, no?

If you have low blood pressure or feel tired, there is nothing wrong with some coffee to keep you going and energized. Temperance is the key. I have low BP and drink coffee, not every day but often.

If you like coffee but feel you are overindulging in it, try to switch to a plain instant coffee or Turkish coffee, instead of rich, sweet coffee with creamer. Less processed is almost always better. And try not to sweeten. It might taste bitter in the beginning, as anything that tones the liver IS bitter by nature... after a while the one with added sugar will taste yuck, believe me. Why not try the coffee as God made it for you and intended it to taste. That might be an interesting experience... hmmmm? :)
