6And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. 8You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.

Amen. Sooo valuable is The Word of God, and many children starve from seeing the practice of valuing all of The Word of God above all else.

Perhaps, but where did God ever instruct parents to SEND THEIR CHILDREN TO SCHOOL?

Just asking...

Actually, even in the Frist Testament, young boys would go to "school" to study the Word of God. And Paul himself studied, as did many, many other Jews at the time...........That's why ONE of the Gifts of the Spirit is TEACHER..........

Now, our State Run Public School System is a different creature...........and the original intent was for local communities and States to operate/control Schools................there was no Dept. of Ed. in the beginning.............and there shouldn't be one now...........but when the Feds started giving monies to State and Local Schools, they also weaseled in and eventually gained control over them............

If your gonna take the devil's money, you are gonna hafta dance to his tune..........

I'm well aware of the same, but, as you noted, our state run public school system is a different creature altogether. Anyhow, we read in relation to Jesus:

John chapter 7

[15] And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?
[16] Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.
[17] If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.
[18] He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

Also, in relation to Peter and John, we read:

"Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus." (Acts 4:13)

I'll take someone who has been taught by God or Jesus over any University Professor any day...

EXERPT FROM ARTICLE:

New England[edit]
The first American schools in the thirteen original colonies opened in the 17th century. Boston Latin School was founded in 1635 and is both the first public school and oldest existing school in the United States.[SUP][1][/SUP] The first tax-supported public school was in Dedham, Massachusetts, and was run by Rev. Ralph Wheelock.[SUP][2][/SUP] Cremin (1970) stresses that colonists tried at first to educate by the traditional English methods of family, church, community, and apprenticeship, with schools later becoming the key agent in "socialization." At first, the rudiments of literacy and arithmetic were taught inside the family, assuming the parents had those skills. Literacy rates were much higher in New England, and much lower in the South. By the mid-19th century, the role of the schools had expanded to such an extent that many of the educational tasks traditionally handled by parents became the responsibility of the schools.[SUP][3][4][/SUP]

At my school we have a group called First Priority a group of people several states away is trying to get it took away I emailed a local news station to see what I could get done and I haven't heard anything back I think for the ones who want to worship God it should be available without the fear of getting in trouble those who don't want to participate wouldn't have to.
If your effort is entirely student led, then there is no law stopping you. Only persecution can affect you, which is what Jesus promised would come to anyone standing up with him.

Here's a web page that will give you some ideas. How To Protect Student Rights

We've gone through a similar problem for our daughters in high school. The school was being ordered to outfit the kitchen for a new Jewish student, while opposing the annual student-led "Prayer at the Pole" event. We began by asking local pastors for references to local lawyers who are Christians. From there we found some that were backed up by about 2,000 American attorneys already well educated about student rights. We never spent a dollar for all their help. The kitchen got the kosher section, and the students continued their events.

Our answer to the issue of praying in public is that's an issue local students have stepped up to in response to Muslim calls to prayer, and the old Jewish claims to rights, and pressure from the emerging world of "atheists" who wanted all references to God and Christian events halted. They were caught in the middle of many issues that had never been issues in a predominantly "Christian community".

The children taking part in the public events had been raised up in churches with strong children's ministries, so what they do in public is a series of public responses to their training and constitutional rights, and their testimony for Christ, across many denominational lines.

Until they saw other religions assert their "rights", I don't think there was any public display of testimony in schools other than a teacher saying "Let's pray that the Lord will bring back to your remembrance all you have been taught before I pass out this exam.". I remember my high school Principal praying over the intercom such prayers over final exams, which has returned thanks to high court decisions that allow a student to utter such a prayer. It took other religions creeping in to awake them and at last, parents, to the reality of "persecution" because of association with Jesus alone. That was unknown to us until about the year 2000.

Students who take along with them their religious education, into schools, into the job market, have a right to believe and to speak their beliefs in America. The Bible they have learned is a major part of their total education.

Keep your education, student, the Bible and the secular! American law is on your side. But still there's one principle from God you must understand to rise even above laws of men.....Matthew 11:12 (KJV) [SUP]12 [/SUP] And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

That says don't be intimidated, shamed down, excluded. All Christians are allowed by Gods much boldness to stand against sin, against false religion, while boldly seeking the kingdom of Heaven. The timid won't benefit by that kingdom or any kingdom of men. The "meek" will inherit all, putting all their power of trust into Jesus instead of themselves.

I heard a story that a little girl once was silently praying for her food at lunch and a teacher told her to stop and said if she does that again she will be in the principal's office. The girl was like maybe 7 and told her mom and dad what had happened. So the parents reported the teacher to the principal..idk what happened but yeah it was sorta sad :(

And there was a meeting with the girl's parents, the teacher, the principal and the teacher's UNION REP! That's how it works today.
