What loving choice is there in 'submit to lifelong prostration for having the ability for imperfection (which I gave you) or burn for eternity'. How is that even a choice?
Its a loving choice because you have the choice at all. You can choose one or the other. You can choose a gift or reject it.I can choose to accept good advice from say parents or reject that and pay the price.God is loving, yes, but He is the ultimate judge. He created you how does He then not have the right to send to hell those that reject him and go their own way? How would that be justice to those who lived Christian lives and followed his commands? It wouldn't.It sounds like a free loader child who says to their parents "Listen I want to do what I want to do.I want to have sex when I want to with whoever I want to.I want to do drugs and drink if I want.I dont want to work or go to school.I want to sleep all day and I want you to accept all this.I want to live in your house for free and I want you to accept my lifestyle because thats what I want."God has told us the consequences of sin,its death. How can you turn around and say "hey, you're not playing fair, you didn't give me a choice!" Yes,he did, life free from sin,or life free from God but sin ends in death.Your choice.

If you KNEW God and had a relationship with Him, you would know the answer to this question (actually you wouldnt ask the question because it would seem stupid to you. That's somewhat alike to meeting the most beautiful girl in the world who matches all you ever wanted in a girl with also wonderful character and loving you to the t, like, your perfect One that you dreamt to meet...and you asking a question "why would I want to be with this girl?")
His person is so wonderful that I cant begin to describe Him.
He died for me. He cares for me and so many others every moment. He guides me and helps me.
We live by faith and not by sight. This is "the momentary trouble".

Wow, that would be an empty, hideous outlook. I don't blame you for not desiring that reality. :p

Except it is NOT the reality, dear Human. Hallelujah for that! \;)/ Here's the reality: You are perfect in God's sight and He loves you just as you... and DOESN'T WANT YOU TO DO ANYTHING EXCEPT BELIEVE THAT! Can you believe THAT, Human? :D

The Lord Jesus has made a way for you to enjoy a free and joyful life (John 14:6 "I am the way, the truth and the life."), made a way for you out of temptation, makes a way of escape when you get trapped because of temptation (I Corinthians 10:13 "God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able; and will also make a way to escape"), cares about your concerns, has sympathy because He understands and wants you to run to him with confidence because He loves you (Hebrews 4:14-16), will provide for you, never get angry at you, leave you or condemn you (Isaiah 54:9 "So now I have sworn not to be angry with you, never to rebuke you again."), does not want you to be afraid of Him (II Timothy 1:7), wants you to have peace and joy (Romans 14:17).... does this sound like the hateful, mean-spirited, far away god you think the Lord is? Because THIS is the One True God, beloved Human.

I have questions for the Father all the time. He answers me. Sometimes it's hardly discernible and I can barely perceive it. But He answers me. I would be a fool to try to answer the questions of your heart because only God knows what you are really asking. Most of my questions stem from the fact that I sometimes struggle with fear and the world is so noisy and ugly and scary that I almost don't perceive the Lord Jesus. Sometimes doubt tries to creep into my brain and then questions pop up. "Why, Lord??" And in His great mercy and amazing love He simply shows me what's really going on in my heart and restores me back to peace in Him.

Just as when my children were born, they were perfect in my sight. (They still are as adults!) I guided them and instructed them, took care of all their needs, I was their "master". But they needed to respect me in order for me to get them to trust me so I had to be as perfect an example as I could. Sometimes they hated me and lied to me, fought with each other, disobeyed me over & over, they broke my heart with their resentment of me, but I didn't rebuke or disown them. I knew they had to grow and learn for themselves the real reason I was instructing and correcting them. I had to wait for them to become adults. So I put up with all their shenanigans and foolishness until their eyes were open in maturity. I didn't destroy them! That's the world, immature children fighting and wanting what they want. God doesn't want to destroy them. He wants them to all come to Him.

Today all three of my children adore me, and praise God for that because I was certainly not a perfect parent. EEEEKK!! To just remember the mistakes I've made as a parent makes me cringe. Yet they all know I did my best and they all love me today.

God is our perfect Father, Human. I can't answer your very deep questions but He can because He understands your heart - you are His child. I have faith in Him to answer your questions to your satisfaction. I hope that you turn from the harsh, stoic, militant picture of an egomaniac monstrous god and seek the Real One, in Jesus Christ I pray.

Feel free to email me and add me as a friend if you'd like. :)

Oh I forgot the other part. While the alternative is to marry an ugly, harping, seductive but abusive evil nag and a liar that plots to put you in prison or kill you.
So that's basically the situation with choosing God vs the devil. You wouldnt believe that people would choose the devil and it boggles my mind,, but they do daily.

Stephen Fry explains what he would say if he was 'confronted by God' - People - News - The Independent

An openly gay actor who recently married his "boy bride" shows his ignorance on God and the Bible, which mirrors that of the Great British general public who have no Biblical knowledge. Now if you are going to rubbish God at least read the Bible and get the reasons for your argument...rather than perhaps listen to those such as Dawkins/Hitchens
Yeah, I too expected something more "original" - not sure how this is really news, a carnal man sees through carnal eyes. But let's not forget to pray for him, most of us have been once where he is now (unless raised up Christian).

For the record, I agree with everything Stephen Fry said. He sums up my exact feelings. I'm also happy to discuss the matter.

Also, the fact that Stephen Fry is gay has no impact on the validity of his opinion.

Do we have faith and trust in God or do we question God in things or circumstances we don't understand? Faith and trust in God understands God's Sovereignty overrules anything. Questioning God dismisses God because we don't trust our creator.

I could be ticked off at God because of my ailments. My faith in God overrides that as I trust His Sovereign Will.

If you question God because of "bad things happening" then you have never truly met God. I would strongly suggest you meet Him.

Well maybe you should stop and question things from time to time. All you have to ask is one simple word.. Why?

You would ask it in every other aspect of your life, but when it comes to god your happy to console yourself with apologetics.

I'm not gay and I share the same opinion.

Quoting scripture also means nothing to me, I welcome your own opinion In your own words.
If quoting scripture means nothing to you, then why are you in a Bible discussion forum?

Unfortunately God is Spirit so carnal intellect cannot understand or grasp Him. God is foolishness to those who think they are wise intellectually.

Fortunately, when you are a child of God the Lord gives you understanding.

So if you're seeking God and have questions, you will find Him and He will answer. If you're rejecting God, why in the world would you expect Him to answer to you?

He better be careful, God will not be mocked...

Tancredo Neves (President of Brazil );
During the Presidential campaign, he said if he got 500,000 votes from his party, not even God would remove him from Presidency. Sure he got the votes, but he got sick a day before being made President, then he died .

The man who built the Titanic:
After the construction of Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be.
With an ironic tone he said: “Not even God can sink it”
The result: I think you all know what happened to the Titanic .

John Lennon (Singer):
Some years before, during his interview with an American Magazine, he said:
“Christianity will end, it will disappear. I do not have to argue about that. I am certain. Jesus was ok, but his subjects were too simple, Today we are more famous than Him” (1966).
Lennon, after saying that the Beatles were more famous than Jesus Christ, was shot six times.

Cazuza (Bi-sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet):
During A show in Canecio ( Rio de Janeiro ),
while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air and said:“God, that’s for you.”
He died at the age of 32 of AIDS in a horrible manner.

Marilyn Monroe (Actress)
She was visited by Billy Graham during a presentation of a show.
He said the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her.
After hearing what the Preacher had to say, she said:
“I don’t need your Jesus”.
A week later, she was found dead in her apartment .

Campinas (IN 2005);
In Campinas, Brazil a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a friend…..
The mother accompanied her to the car and was so worried about the drunkenness of her friends and she said to the daughter holding her hand, who was already seated in the car:
“My Daughter, Go With God And May He Protect You..”
She responded: “Only If He (God) TravelsIn The Trunk, Cause Inside Here…..It’s Already Full ”
Hours later, news came by that they had been involved in a fatal accident, everyone had died,
the car could not be recognized what type of car it had been, but surprisingly, the trunk was intact.
The police said there was no way the trunk could have remained intact. To their surprise, inside the trunk was a crate of eggs, none was broken .

Christine Hewitt (Jamaican Journalist and entertainer):
said the Bible (Word of God) was the worst book ever written.
In June 2006 she was found burnt beyond recognition in her motor vehicle .
That is right.....God will not be mocked.......Voltaire said God would be dead and religion gone in a period of time as well....He is dead and God is still being proclaimed and preached around the world......MANY men and women mouth to find out that God will have the last laugh.....God said he would laugh in the day of their calamity............! Although, he takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked.........

Because I'm responding to comments regarding what Stephen Fry said, which im sure, also wasn't in the bible.
Blasphemy is most certainly in the Bible. This is what Stephen Fry has done, do you still wish to side with him?

Stephen Fry is smart and at times, very funny but he's not Bible smart and it's easy to easy that He doesn't think much of the one true God who inspired His Word, via the Holy Spirit.

It was actually quite funny to see Fry shut down in an interview with a mature Christian woman, concerning the authenticity of the Bible etc and the nature of God. It was one of the few times I'd seen him at a loss to say anything. He didn't attack her character, he just looked confounded and angry and stormed out of the room. The woman was smart. Very smart. But wise too.

Except that girl probably didn't give me life with imperfect psychological capabilities, take life and give me despair, anguish, suffering, strife and sin under the threat of eternal unending suffering, pain, anguish, despair and strife if I don't submit to her and believe she sent herself to appease herself to save me from the suffering and strife she inflicted on me and would inflict o me after my death if I' didn't believe her.

Quite a big difference there really, isn't there?
