So what are we supposed to condemn and protest everyone who makes political cartoons? No they have the right to make this sort of political speech...If it makes some mad they have to right to protest with free-speech also...they do not have the right to murder!

No we uphold the law that upholds free-speech and we also desire justice on criminals who murder law-abiding citizens. :)
You can do that without pretending irresponsible free speech is just dandy and fine. That's what I do.

Yes I am a Christian. I have read your posts in other places on this site Human, and I must ask - Are you a Muslim? You really do seem to be. Why would you so be so fiercely against a protest condemming the acts of muslim terrorists if you weren't?

I am against negotiating with terrorists, and if the press stopped printing things that offended muslims, we would be doing just that. Actually, it would be worse. We would be obeying them, and letting them take over.

I am an American, and I love my country. I love democracy and free speech, and and I will fight to the death to protect it.

See the thing about free speech is that its free.... and political comics is no big deal and no excuse for murder...so the problem is not with the folks writing comics, the problem is with the folks who kills folks for free-speech. This is not hard to figure out?

Does anyone in this forum care at all for the Niger Christians who were killed by Muslims when they were totally innocent?

My point is that we now have almost 3 pages defending "free speech" rather than 3 pages discussing the tragedy in Niger.

We are beating to death Muslim terrorists in France, who were trying in their own eyes to right a wrong against their religion, but NOTHING, not a peep about the Muslim terrorists in Africa, who killed nearly the same number of Christians who had NOTHING to do with the incident in Paris.

This whole forum is so ethnocentric, and so blind to the needs of Christians in other parts of the world, and so far from the Biblical truths of Charlie Hebdo reaping what they sowed. In other words, the consequences of producing pornographic smut.

"Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life." Gal. 6:7-8

Those people in the magazine sowed in their evil flesh, and reaped corruption. What about those in Niger, who were just living their lives, and were on the tail end of a long line of injustice!?!

This is the thread and I started it! Lol Look at the title. Take your Amercian free speech nonsense elsewhere. Make your own thread!

Christians are dying, and American Christians sit back and discuss culture, instead of educating people as to what is really going on in the world, in places like Niger and praying for those who have lost everything, because a president thought supporting free speech in a Paris march was more important than protecting his own people from terrorists!

You know, I would like to see just how an American Muslim-owned company sending out a political comic written by Muslims making fun of Christians or America would go down. I imagine someone would be shot, robbed, or beaten.

Free speech is a lovely idea, but it's never free. It comes with consequences and costs, especially when idiots get a hold of it.

Both sides are non-Christians. Christians don't insult people and Christians don't kill people. Just seems like Satan at work in the world to me. All I can do when I hear about any of this stuff is pray and feel sorry for all these deceived people fighting and killing each other for nothing.

Well im sorry but free-speech is not nonsense and you cant blame folks for getting killed as the reason more people are being killed. The problem is the killers, not the folks writing comics! Like I said these folks don't need a reason to kill anyone...for you to excuse their murder is really sad.

Christians insult lots of people, daily. As for violence, go to Africa. Christians most definitely kill people. You're what I call a moderate Christian. Now if this argument of yours is some argument based upon ''well if they kill people they aren't real Christians'', moderate Muslims think the same about extremist Muslims.

As hard as I try to ignore your comments............and then you come up with one like this.........The only truthful thing I've seen you post is highlighted.................maybe you should just stop speaking and the consequences and costs would diminish a wee bit?

For many, many years, here in the US, there have been untold numbers of cartoons that made fun of Christianity, Christians, God, Jesus Christ.............have you ever had a grip on reality? Goodness...........

Only thing left to do is increase the length of my "ignore" list, for you are worthy of nothing more.

Apply this logic to Israel's bombings of Palestine, as I know you're an advocate. Is the responsibility for the genocide against Palestinian children the fault of the Israeli bombers (the ones who kill people) or the Hamas men who want them to stay where they are when the bombs drop?

If it's the latter, then you're a hypocrite with your logic.

You're still only viewing this from one side. If the shoe were on the other foot, I do believe the Muslims making those comics would be under real threat of death.

This is TRUE persecution of the Christian church. And for all of you who supported Charlie Hebdo and the "right" to free speech, the outcome is that Christians all over the world are now being threatened and killed, even though Hebdo was not a Christian in any way, shape or form.
I don't know why Christians would want to involve themselves in any worldly affairs, especially things like Charlie Hebdo.
But why fear persecution?

Israel is not committing genocide! Where do you come up with this stuff?

There is a notion held by many modern Christians that assumes being unafraid of persecution is the same as openly ridiculing others to a degree sufficient to invite it. They are not the same things.
