I used to be fearful of God in an unhealthy way as a child.
Bad things happened to me, by time Sunday rolled around, I was so sooo sooo angry at God, then I'd be fearful. Then the weekdays would start again, and bad things would happen, Sunday roll around, I'd feel angry at God again, then I'd be fearful.
Nice cycle, right?
Jesus replied:
"'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
God is love. God wants you to love Him and to love others. That's all it is.
All repenting is is leaving behind the old and turning 180 and looking towards Jesus.
Anyone can be crippled in discouragement or fear of salvation.
Hebrews 4:16
Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
I don't look at the bible in regards of legalist manner. That's what the men Jesus debated would want, actually.
The thing that BLOWS my mind about Jesus, He healed people, but the more important way was He healed them spiritually.
Read the bible, trust in the Lord with ALL your heart. When you give yourself, you will grow, you will feel so empowered. Trust me, I've been there.
