Having problems in the reply box

Can someone help me with whats going on in the reply box (well at least on my end)

I will be posting and it wont go any further, just happened on my last post, like it wouldnt let me drop my mouse (to type any further) past the last verse I had posted (so I could add more to it). Its weird, and it began happening after i started posting on the catholic heresies thread answering a post (by quoting it) and that was the first time.

Since then in order to post with greater ease I need to prepare my post elsewhere and then repost it into the reply box (here) its just strange.

When I highlight the area (within the reply box) to save to my mouse there are lines which appear (which I can see unless I do that).

I dont know...I figured I would ask, I thought it was a little gliche that would get better, something the board was working on or something.

Also the Bold Italics and Underline portion seems faded, and I am having trouble changing the font over sometimes (by highlighting it) it will only highlight half the verse.

Just starnge, and bringing it to your attention is all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, anything I can do on my end maybe?

hmmm... I've never had that problem. I know if you write a super-long post, sometimes it won't all post, or even post at all.

You know me so well, but these are short posts, it just did it again answering someone with one verse, I could say nothing after posting that one verse.

Which would appear that I am being short with them but Im not, I am stuck lol

hmmm.. try NOT posting verses and see what happens. Btw, did you copy/paste the verses?

I copy past verses from blueletter bible as I always have. The problem is I can say nothing (free hand) after I have copy pasted a verse directly from Blueletter into the CC's reply box.

I must go to my forum, make a post there and then copy paste it from there to here.

So I need to take a detour in posting here lol

I can type freely (as I am now). But if I post a verse I cant respond anymore under it, its like I am blocked from going any further.

Just strange, I thought there has got to be an answer to any of these reply box issues.

Im noticing words posted three times in a row, and often any editing (if not previewd) doesnt stick, and I look at my posts thinking, where is my head? So I have been paying closer attention and I know theres something wrong here lol

(help!) lol

Which web browser are you using, DH? And do you know which editor you have selected in your preferences here on CC?

I was able to copy + paste from Blue Letter with no issues.

hummmm.... that is odd
what happens if you paste it, and then click the right arrow button before trying to type something?
(I notice that pictures don't show the "squares" along the sides to show they are marked. If I type while a picture is marked, it goes away, but maybe your browser makes it do something else)

Hey S_K, I am using Opera (and have since I joined) and I have selcted the Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing which I have been using since I joined. No problems till I jumped on that catholic heresies thread after quoting one of the posts on there and I thought it might have been some kind of editing code in their post affecting mine or something. Cause sometimes that happens. But it followed me out lol

Its sticking to me (can ya help?) lol

Its working at the moment and cant get it to repeat itself here, but when it does I will try that and see what happens, its just a royal pain in the rear lol

Ah, see, I had issues with the WYSIWUG editor and Chrome; since Opera and Chrome are now built on the same engine, perhaps you're experiencing that issue due to the same reason(s)─whatever it/they may be─that gave me trouble. Your browser may have updated recently also, which...who knows what to expect from updates? :eek:

Try another editor or a different browser, if you don't mind. If you don't run into the same problem then, I don't think it's anything you've done, but more likely a technical conflict at that point. Should that be the case, you may just need to stick with a different editor if you're good with Opera otherwise.

I think you might be right, I had a similar problem on explorer (way back) on another forum's editor and it got really whacked out.

Its just never going to be the same though lol

And I believe ya, but when folks dont know what it is (as it could be a multitude of things Im thinking) just blame it on the browser lol

Im technically challenged anyway (I cant tell a thing with any of these puter online problems)

But I do remember jumping through the new browser hoops in the past which didnt take care of the problem anyway, so I will just assume no one knows what it is, and thats okay, cause I dont either.

@DH: Sorry we couldn't get it definitively. You're right; there are so many variables to consider. Hopefully you find er, a workaround (or better, a solution).
