Then if you do not see , open your eyes.
This forum has bitter and angry disputes on all the issues I mention, all Protestant affairs, and indeed the same issues have been responsible for congregations fracturing with monotonous regularity. You cannot simultaneously hold that the Eucharist is both real presence in flesh , spirit or just a symbol, and you cannot belong to a congregation that holds the opposite view to yours, because the other commits a profanity. Nor can you believe in both OSAS and at the other extreme believe that you are not saved until judgement, and how you live your life as a Christian will depend which views you mix and match from a VERY long list of issues! It is precisely because the evangelists have such shallow theology, that they fudge all these issues nor had good answers that I had to move on.

Then check out the history of the bible and see that it did not drop out of the sky. The first Christians were not bible Christians as you understand it because the New Testament did not exist yet, the faith was passed on by paradosis, tradition, meaning a " handing down" which is why Paul says " hold true to tradition taught to you by word of mouth and letter" , notice he does not say
Gospels, they did not exist at that time in common circulation. And it is also why the bible says " the pillar and foundation of truth is the church" , not the bible. So if you look in scripture to see where it says " to be true it must be in the bible" and you will look in vain, it is not there. Sola scriptura is an impossible doctrine in historic and logical terms, and the bible nowhere says it.

In short , open your eyes and study the shaky theological ground you walk on, don't worry about pointing fingers at others
The bible that yall worship instead of God isn't even the correct bible. Luther took out seven books against the warning in Revelation. So how can you worship a book missing chapters, and then claim that is the only standard. the early Christians did not have a bible and the statement. that all scripture is for teaching and so forthwas about the old testament. so if this is correct you should be worshipping the old testament since there was no new testament when that letter was written

The question you need to ask yourself is far closer to home, than pointing fingers at catholics, and it is very simple but profound.

LOL you profound? That's a joke.

If Protestant interpretation of scripture was so obviously correct, why is it Protestants disagree with each other on literally every material matter of doctrine
This statement is totally false. Those who are truly Christ's agree on all the essential doctrines, the tri-unity of God, that Jesus is true God and true man, and that salvation is through Christ alone because He died in our place and rose again to give us life..

, from Eucharist in many flavours to baptism,
This is where you go so so wrong. We do not see 'the doctrine' behind the Lord's Supper or baptism as of great importance. We are happy to see them as mysteries and allow different interpretations. What matters is that we partake with the consciousness that Christ is with us and that we are baptised into Him.

diametrically opposed views on salvation to predestination,
t

There is not disagreement on the essentials of salvation. As to predestination it is not a doctrine that we see as being of great concern. We leave it in God's hands, and agree to disagree. The trouble with you and your church is that you try to legislate about minutiae.

the necessity of clergy, liturgy
we need neither to be able to worship God. So each church can choose how they view it. It is not important.

prolife, pro choice and scores of other serious issues of theology.
they are not issues of theology but of morals. There is in fact no agreement on these things among Roman Catholics. you just try to claim that there is LOL

. And their differences are so profound they have fractured into thousands of pieces because they could not reconcile the differences within each other, so split with monotonous regularity, because all get to decide their own version, since they cannot agree with each other.
You are so pathetic. This is not the church as I see it in the UK. I worship happily with all denominations. What's in a name as long as the essentials are right? There are as many disagreements in the Roman Catholic church as there are outside it. Its just that you try to cover them up. Having a catechism doesn't mean that they all believe it LOL

So many seem to know a great deal ABOUT The Book than what's in it's pages. If protestant christianity is missing the mark in its doctrine with its traditions of men, how much more is the RCC with the majority of its doctrines based solely on the rules of the pope & the cardinals that have been changing for a time of 300 yrs shy of two millennia?

That is a misunderstanding on two clear issues,

First that Catholicism has changed, which it has barely done in two millenia.
The early church records being sacramental, liturgical, authority of priesthood, real presence and so on, so nothing has actually changed, which is the hallmark of the true church, since the Holy Spirit cannot change. Indeed RCC has stood mostly alone in the pro life stance, that used to be held by all, but many have yielded to populism on such things as that and the gay issue.

Second that the doctrines are based elsewhere than scripture, when the reality is the differences in almost all cases are in essence differences in interpretation, which is the reason Protestantism having no authority at the helm , allows individual interpretation , fractures into so many pieces. RCC of course does not believe in sola scriptura for the very good reason scripture does not say it, and history shows the faith passed by tradition - a handing down, so sola scriptura is neither historical nor logical either, the pillar and foundation of truth is the church.

GOD'S WORD answered this long ago.

And those in the last century who have done so, have been delivered, in this life or in the next.

Remember, it is GOD'S WORD, HIS PROMISE, that IF you seek HIM, you will find HIM.
Nora Lam of China did. through impossible "odds" humanly watching.
Martin Luther got saved, in spite of WILLINGLY STUDYING AND LEARNING THE DEMONIC PRACTICES OF THE POPE...... HE STILL GOT SAVED FROM THE DEVIL.(LUTHER gor SAVED by GOD AFTER HE REPENTED and CALLED ON JESUS)

IF you seek flesh/mary/pope/priest/bishop/heresy/abominations, you will find yourself cursed.

IF you repent of your sin, GOD willing, and serve GOD by faith IN JESUS(not mary, not heresy, not demons),
GOD saves you through JESUS (not through anything nor anyone else).

The 2 people you cite were literate and had access to scripture. My question is still unanswered.

Do you contend that there were true Christians between the time of 500 AD and the time of the Reformers that rejected the tecachings of the RCC and if so do you have any record of them?

How could you possibly know what goes on in every church? That statement lacks simple logic, there is no way you could possibly support a comment like that with real proof.

Can someone answer why the protestant churches ignore the scripture where the Blessed Mary says, ".....all generations will call me Blessed."? Is this to hard?

Really mwc68, how can all doctrines be based in Scripture when God says Mary was a sinner? Or could it be you reject the Scriptures that clearly say Mary was a sinner!

Romans 3:23
[SUP]23 [/SUP] for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God

All means Mary also mwc68.

See how great the Catholics are at lying? See how great the Catholics are in deceiving people to Worship Mary as their Goddess?

Mary is not my mother, in fact the Mary in the Catholic Church is the Goddess Diana that the Romans worshiped when Paul brought them the Gospel of Salvation, not Peter like the Catholics teach. Have you noticed how the Catholics teach the opposite of what God says in the Bible? God sent Paul to Rome, the Catholics say Peter went to Rome. God says all have sinned, the Catholics say Mary never sinned. God said the Truth is only in Him, the Catholics say only the Catholic Church has the Truth.

Do you see how corrupted the Catholics are?

The Mary in the Catholic Church is not my mother and i would never follow that Mary because she is a Demon from Satan. The Catholics have been so corrupted by Satan into Worshiping Diana as their Mary.

I was born and raised in the Catholic Church. Did you know that when you confess your sins to a Catholic Priest you HAVE to Pray to Mary over and over and over again! They say by praying the "Hail Mary" over 50 times that you will be cleaned from all your sins. The Catholics teach that ONLY by praying to Mary the "Hail Mary" prayer can Mary forgive you of your sins!

This piece of info the Catholics really do not want the World to know.

There are tons of pictures of John Paul the second praying to a statue of Mary. In fact after he was shot he gave ALL credit to Mary for saving his life. Not once did he ever thank Jesus Christ for saving him. If the head of the Catholic Church see's nothing wrong with Worshiping Mary then how can the Catholics deny they do Worship Mary as their Goddess?

We Protestants may differ in the Doctrines we teach but at least we do not Worship a Demon and then deny it like the Catholics do.

St. Paul was referring to the Old Testament. Stop taking scripture out of context and you might learn something

Do any of you recall how The Blessed Mary said, in scripture, " All generations will call me Blessed"? You all seem to ignore this. i know ONE church that still calls her Blessed. Yall treat her like trash and nobody will treat my mother like that. You pick and choose. what you want from the paper and ink you worship
Your tradition has blinded you to truth, as in the case of the Scribes whom Jesus called 'blind fools.'

She considered that she would be called blessed because God had chosen her to be the mother of the Messiah, not because of any intrinsic merit in her. She was not expecting future generations to call her Blessed Mary. We do consider that she was blessed. But when the woman cried out to Jesus 'blessed is the womb which bore you and the nipples you have sucked HIS reply was, 'YES RATHER, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it'.

I have been blessed by God in many ways but I do not expect my fellow Christians to call me Blessed Valiant.

Every is perhaps too strong, but the churches that have ordered liturgy are uniform, not just RCC

And speaking from my personal journey , I can say it is true of that.
The mass is almost all linked bible quotations, three scriptures read in every one.
Where the Protestant churches long on hymns, and short on scripture.
The evangelicals surprised me most. The bible bashers were good at rock bands and fellowship, but had a depressing lack of scripture or recognisable worship, and it was remarkable that the biggest advocates of scripture alone, introduced non scriptural quasi sacraments like "altar calls " and " formally asking Jesus into your life" , ignoring the actual sacraments, Eucharistic were rare and washed down the sink!
Some were nominal Calvinists, but when you asked - so why waste time on evangelisation when all were predestined up or down, so what was the point? They either got annoyed, or suggested you " pray" about it, which is a non answer. Some did not realise what they were supposed to believe, and were surprised as well! Ditto many other questions.

I cannot say that the 5? 6? Groups I encountered spoke for all, what I can say is the sense of serene worship , and the amount of scripture is way higher in RCC than anywhere else on my travels.

Normally I'd not reply to such things as this, but I do have one important thing to say. But first, the Bible is holy. It is the true teaching of the very Lord Jesus Christ and His hand chosen apostles, which God picked to birth the church, which is, by the way, the body of believers in Jesus Christ, not some boy's club, or a building, not some set of rituals performed in Halloween costumes, and not related to any geography. Your attempt to undermine holy scripture is sadly lame and futile, something Satanic you shouldn't be doing at all, this to say you are only denigrating the faith system you hold to, to say such things. If this is Catholicism, it is much, much worse than is already apparent for its extra-Biblical fables and doctrines of demons. What's important, though, is that, if the Bible is shaky theological ground to you, it is the revered word of God to all authentic Christians I know, and what's important, then, is it's very clear you need to get saved.

I was talking about most "protestant" churches. How can you know what goes on in “most protestant churches”? What did we go over last night in my church? Did we study scripture then? Was it more or less scripture than you’re used to? Was an acceptable amount of scripture read in your opinion? Get my point now? Why make silly claims about things there is no way you could possably know? That was my point.

Same questions can be answered by anyone that knows the answers to the questions posted.

So you admit you pick and choose which scriptures you like and then come up with some confounded idea for scriptures you dont like. Interesting
