Spokane NAACP leader cancels meeting amid furor

The leader of the Spokane NAACP, Rachel Dolezal, canceled a chapter meeting Monday where she was expected to speak about the furor sparked over her racial identity.

Her parents have said she has falsely portrayed herself as black for years.

Dolezal sent out an email Sunday cancelling the meeting "due to the need to continue discussion with regional and national NAACP leaders." Some, however, questioned whether she had the power to do so.
Last week, Dolezal's white parents issued a statement at a reporter's request denying their daughter's years-long masquerade as a black person. Many in the Spokane NAACP chapter want her to resign, but the liberal media is already coming to her defense, claiming a heretofore unknown "racial identity disorder" for her, saying she is "transracial" -- a black woman trapped in a white body. I'm serious! That's what they've said. Author Kate Schwartz tweeted out, "Can she be transracial?"

Well even if she can be, which is ludicrous -- just as Bruce Jenner's claim to be a "woman" is ludicrous -- she has lied about being black for years. It got her into school, where she has earned a Masters and teaches (ready for it?) --

-- African-American studies.

Well, of course she does! According to Breitbart.com, "She teaches African-American studies, as well as classes including 'African and African American Art History, African History, African American Culture, The Black Women’s Struggle, and Intro to Africana Studies at EWU.' Yes, 'The Black Women’s Struggle.” Her profile says her “scholarly research focuses on the intersection of race, gender and class in the contemporary Diaspora with a specific emphasis on Black women in visual culture.”

She has other interests, too, including “African dance” and “ethnic hair styling.” Yes, seriously. But that's not all. She falsely claimed she was raised in a Montana teepee where her parents hunted with bow and arrow before the family moved to South Africa, falsely claimed abuse by both her parents and her ex-husband -- who is black -- has claimed a date rape that there is no record of her having reported to police, has claimed her black adoptive brother is actually her son, and falsely reported anti-black "hate crimes" have been committed against her.

This woman is one piece of work. She's so good at lying, she ought to run for president. After all, Elizabeth Warren claimed to be Cherokee Indian, and look where its gotten her? And we all know about Hillary. Dolezol is the perfect leftist Democratic presidential candidate.

Ya know, that's how liberals think. If you "feel" something, you must be right, regardless of how stupid, clueless, or insane it makes you look/sound.

Me thinks Whitey wouldn't date her as a young doe and she found solace in the Black Community. With that, her heart seared with anger towards White peeps.

Anywho, while I'm not a fan of the modern day NAACP, I don't believe they would care about her race in the first place. I believe that it is just one of those things where she lied and had to keep digging more holes to cover the first lie. I guess she didn't do enough digging through history to realize that many freedom riders who were killed were white. *shrugs*

Dah well, she lied and I have no sympathy f

I've been listening to the morning news programs. I'm just flat amazed at the "easy believism" the liberal media exhibits in this "transracial" concept. Yeah, Matt Lauer appeared to give Dolezal a hard time on "Today," but some of her answers were such pat liberal tripe it made me gag, and Lauer just let that crap go.

Stuff like, "One of my [adopted] boys told me yesterday, 'Well, Mom, biologically you're white but culturally you're black.' "

This kid is like eight years old! What the hell does he know about "culturally" anything???

Dr. Keith Ablow said on F&F that this is the kind of thing he predicted when his liberal colleagues in the mental health field started rushing to embrace the idea of "being trapped" in a body when your mind "tells you" you're something else. He wondereded what the next step will be.

Since Boston Children's is now leaping at the opportunity to start hormone therapy for pre-adolescents who "feel" they are a different gender, are they going to tattoo a kid head to toe who's convinced he's wearing the wrong color skin?

It's the liberal mantra: "I feel, therefore I am."

René Descartes is pinwheeling in his grave.

I look like a younger version of Chuck Norris. That said, a few weeks ago a Black guy asked me what color I am. I said White. He said, no, you're Black, and he meant it with endearment. He was eluding to my style, passion, love for people regardless of ethnicity, etc. And yet liberals hate me. Pfft. :p

Thank you. She didn't have to lie. She could have made a positive impact as a white person.

I've always thought I might be trans-altitude.

I'm kinda tall, but deep down I feel like a leprechaun.

I don't even think leprechauns have an association to join.

I feel you. I'm short on the outside, but on the inside I'm taller than all of you.

I demand stilts.

I'm trans-height for crying out loud.

According to the latest news she's been offered a reality show and has already hired an agent and a publicist.

Transgenderism and transsexualism is odd in that it usually relies on gender norms and a rejection of the idea of gender being anything more than a social construct, which was historically fought against by feminists. If you ever talk to a transgendered person a lot of their justifications revolve around reinforcing gender roles: I feel like a woman because I like the color pink, wearing dresses and makeup, while enjoy doing household chores and cooking, abhor getting dirty, watching sports, ad infinitum. On the other hand, a lot do experience gender dysphoria in other ways, such as feeling their genitalia is foreign to them, which I take far more seriously.

From everything I have read, people with gender dysphoria and transgender/transsexual issues traditionally have terrible outcomes (e.g., astronomically high rates of suicide and are disproportionately victims of violence, drug and alcohol abuse, and comorbid issues like depression and anxiety) and trying to make them conform to and identify as their biological sex doesn't seem to alter those outcomes for the better. Ultimately, if these people identifying as their chosen gender or sex, engaging in hormone treatment, and getting sex reassignment surgery leads to better outcomes in the aggregate, then I would say that's better than the alternative.

The statistics we have for those "transgendered" who had lived ten + years in their "new gender" show that 2/3 of them still commit suicide. It isn't the answer they had hoped to find.

.
Before altering yourself physically with stilts,
be sure to see a clinical psychologist who specializes in trans-height issues.

Most of them agree you should try living for a while as a tall person before making any "permanent changes".

Personally, I believe you should just accept the way God made you...
people who turn to stilts have a high rate of depression and suicide.

Sue your old school. I'm sure somehow they are responsible for making you feel ungood about being "height challenged" and unable to fulfill the height you feel you deserve.

I haven't really seen any liberal media outlets doing this, at least not any large enough to be on my radar. Now, I did see a USA Today piece that was more along the lines of Well, since we all originate from Africa, can't we all claim to be black? tripe. If you're linking to a romance novelist with 1,600 followers on Twitter to support this argument, then I'm guessing you haven't ran across it too much either.
