It is not wrong for me to call someone a bully if that is what they are bullying other people by their hateful words and or actions. It's not wrong for me to say that a murderer is a murderer by their wrong actions. It's not wrong for me to say that a thief is a thief by their wrong and hateful actions. But when you call a person a "troll" and then make pictures of them to look like a "troll" you are telling people that they are monsters. Nowhere in the Scriptures does Jesus and the apostles ever do something like this. This is showing forth a hateful attitude rather than a Godly one that desires people to repent. Nobody is going to repent of their sins if you call them a troll. Sorry, it's just not going to happen. The word "troll" was created as an insult to that person. For there is a difference between God saying something that sums up a person and their wrong behavior and someone actually setting out to say something wrong to people that is just not right.

But it is wrong for someone to call someone else a troll if that is what they are trolling other people by their trolling words and actions? Pictures of monsters aside...still wrong?

And you still didn't answer me about Paul...was he not nice enough when he rebuked false teachers, some of which he named? His words about the cretians? Not "nice" enough? Or was it truth (given the context).

I think you have to watch for it that you don't get into a commandments of men trap, where your personal preferences becomes the judge of other people's actions, rather than seeing the motives, the root at heart. It's misleading.

The word "troll" is associated with the monster. This is the problem that I have the word. It is not actually saying what they are doing versus saying what type of person that they are. When one says they are a troll, they are associating them with being a monster. A bully is a bully because he bully's other people. But the new term called "troll" is an insulting word that tells that person that they are also a monster, too. This is wrong.

Paul was quoting Epimenides Paradox.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epimenides_paradox

For Paul says,

"One of their very own prophets said, Cretans are always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons." (Titus 1:16).

It really needs to stop. We really need some sort of mechanism whereby certain people cannot sidetrack and post words no one even said and twist what is said and just continue arguing

We need a rest from this...it's not fair...the entire Bible part of the forum has been torn up by this nonsense
And I believe you need to stop backing someone who speaks in a wrong way. I frankly find it disgusting.

if He loved us when we were trolls,
and we are to love one another in the way He loved us,
then we need to love trolls too. looking past their offenses. showing them mercy, and not casting stones.

Doing wrong has nothing to do with forgiveness (if they have no desire to repent). For I am commanded by God to forgive all people. So anyone here who has done wrong against me is automatically forgiven. I am talking about not condoing wrong behavior. For Jesus came not to save the righteous, but to lead sinners to repentance. For the Law was not made for a righteous man but for the ungodly.

For if the righteous scarcely be saved, then how shall the sinner and ungodly appear?

For Paul says have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather, reprove them.

While Spider-man is a fictional character, he embodies the concept of justice and in doing what is right. People can also relate to the fictional character known as Spider-man because he was picked on as a kid in highschool for his nerdy appearance (Like when Flash picked on him). Surely anyone who has picked on in highschool because they are fat, or because they are nerdy looking, or because they are small knows when it is wrong when others throw hateful words and or actions their way. It's not a secret. Calling people monsters as a part of catching a crowd's ear is not going to lead someone to the gospel and to repent of their sins. I mean, I can see it now. Church billboard sign says... "Repent you bunch of monsters! For you are all a bunch of sick and evil people!"

While the world is sinful and needs to repent, such a message would sound more like the Westboro Baptist Church and not like those who are supposed to do good towards their enemies and to pray and love them when preaching the gospel.

Remember, John the Baptist was the last of the Old Covenant prophets and he was not a New Testament saint.

I have never understood calling people trolls because the bible teaches us to love one another as God loved us that he sent Jesus to die as a perfect sacrifice for us. That comes here on CC as well, God created each and every one of them whether or not they choose to live for God or the enemy. There are many here that I disagree with, but I still love and support them because they are created by God. I know a few weeks ago when we got those PM's from people that was putting word curses on several members I began praying for them automatically that they learn the love Christ has for them. I don't appreciate people calling each other names and backbiting each other because that goes against everything the bible teaches because God does not want us to bicker with one another and instead communicate with each other out of love and that is not who God is. I have found personally that some of the people that I disagree with, I read between the lines to understand what the points they are trying to make. I believe we all are guilty of bickering, calling each other names, and backbiting one another, myself included but I do want everyone to remember we are to be as Christ was and ask ourselves what Jesus would do in this situation, would he confront, be loving, or leave the situation alone? I find that leaving the situation alone is better than confronting it because in most cases if we confront it adds fuel to the fire and then it blows up and I show love by praying for them. I am the type of person that never wants to hurt someone else and if I found out that I did, like yesterday I fall apart and want to cry.

I am a believer and I do NOT endorse this message

Spider man is fictional and they do not allow tight clingy clothes in heaven

While I was going to say something else, I decided to withdraw what I was going to say and instead I want to say that I am only wishing you good things to you in Christ Jesus. Anyways, I am praying so that you might see one day where I am coming from.

May the Lord's love and peace shine upon you.
